Went there as they were about to close but they still served me even though they had to cook it from start. Good size portion and very friendly staff. I recommend anyone in the area to visit Wakefield's new chippy. Good luck with your business

We love this fish shop. Lovely big fat fish covered in the right amount of batter. Chips that are brown, and not pasty white and soggy. Always taste fresh and just cooked. Lovely staff. �

This is the second time i have orded from here and it has been spot on the staff listen to every detail of what you request on your order, there batter and fish is great, and there curry sauce is amazing. to finish off there dessert's are lovely. there delivery service is very fast and the delivery staff is very polite.

Ordered for delivery and it came on time and was still red hot as if straight from the pan. We all enjoyed our meals, even the kids who are really fussy eaters. The only one not happy was the cat because nobody wanted to share.

Ordered fish & chips 3 times with fish bites for the kids. Short wait but everything freshly cooked. Lovely staff & will deffo recommend. Great to have in the local area!

One of the best chippies in Wakefield. The rotisserie chicken is superb, and by the time I drove home, it was still as hot as fresh out of the oven.

Just had a special me and the hubby ,cooked to order.Light crispy batter and chunky haddock.Ate them at the table outside with a nice cup of Yorkshire tea.Highly recommend.

Just been here for the first time, I will definitely be going back. Very nice people and excellent fish and chips very good size portions could not finish it all. Think everybody in Alverthorpe should give it a go thanks to Merlin fisheries.

I saw the advert on Facebook. £ 3.00 for today fish and chips. What a delight they were absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful tasting haddock thick white and chunky. The batter was crisp and golden. With an ample portion of chips. Well worth a visit best ones I've tasted in a long while and very good value for money. The interior of the shop is very pleasant aswel looks very clean and inviting. Exactly what good food businesses should be like. Well done blue marlin 10 out of ten. Not forgetting the warm friendly greeting from staff excellent X

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time, juicy, tasty fish that tasted so fresh and the best chips ever. My kids thought so too and woofed them down. Great service by lovely friendly people. Would recommend you give Blue Marlin a try you'll be sure to go back.

We have had a meal previously which was excellent been today order not complete on getting home called up and assistant said yes she knew the chipa were absolutely disgusting clearly these had been reheated as they were hars and had no potatoe at all in yhe middle all went in the bin when you ate paying dor food it ahould be edible

I've given 2 stars for the lovely white fish and the size of it and the chips tasted really nice , but the chips where cold and the batter on the fish was so thick it wasn't cooked very well and my son had to take all the batter off , on a good note the fish was huge and plenty of chips in one portion for 2 of us and the pease where piping hot , this is the first delivery I have had was a little disappointed but I would try again

Waiting 15 mins when I was the only person in the shop for a chip butty. Was then told I would have to wait 15 mins for a scallop as there weren't any (could see two with all the fish) got home and my chips were clap cold. Second time I've been and the staff have been rude and just barked at me when I've asked for something. Understand that you take just eat orders so your busy but if you can't show basic customer service skills to people who actually come in then I suggest you go online only. Won't be returning.

The last 2 times i have been i have being very disapointed by the service here. A few weeks back i put my order in to only be waiting for about 20 minutes , in this time i kept seeing different parts of my order to be bagged up over a period of 10 minutes and left on top of were food cooked, then the last item a sausage came out and was sat there for a couple of minutes , i had to ask the girl serving (who didnt have a clue) for my sausage and was told she was waiting for a battered one for me , i had to tell her i ordered a plain one , which i had clarified at the order, i was not happy by all this and was going to give a miss but been local i thought id go tonight , only to be waiting for about 30 minutes when the staff had taken my order at the same time as 2 people in front of me and when bringing loads of fish out and all went on other orders only for one of staff to turn round and ask if id ordered , i confirmed had, they had to apologise for not putting mine in. I think this shop has taken too much on by doing deliveries and lack of staff , i dont know if i will be back again as i dont know if will ever be improved which is a shame , was great to have a local chippy again

Not nice food, I was served like warm chips that looked as though they had been kept warm for day and fish which tasted like pollock and was disgusting, tried them again month after but again chips were dreadful, wouldn't recommend

My granddaughter went into the shop yesterday (while I waited in the car) and was the only person in but there was a delivery driver waiting. Another delivery driver came in later. The staff concentrated on getting the orders for the delivery drivers out first. It took 15 minutes to get fish and chips and a bag of chips when no one else was waiting to be served - ridiculous!!! Will not be going there again, especially at their prices!
