About Us

We moved to Brickhouse Farm a number of years ago with our two daughters and the farm itself is set in a very peaceful area with a lovely surrounding full of nature. The reason we are opening the holiday cottages is because one of our daughters had a accident a number of years ago, which left her with disabilities. She spent a long time in hospital and it was then my husband realised talking to other familys who said that there are very limited places to go on holiday where you could spend quality time as a family that was disabled friendly. We wanted the cottages to look home from home rather than clinical, and we feel like we have accomplished that. As you will appreciate, we have first hand experience for caring and catering for someone with a disability. When our daughter eventually came out of hospital we had to adapt our house to cater for her needs, in the form of ramps, level floor access and a large wetroom fitted to make everything easier for her and us. Over the last few years it has been a wish of ours to give something back to the community after all the support we received.

We aim to accommodate any disability, all you have to do is call or email us and we will try our best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please look through our website to see the list of services we can provide.

Huge thank you for the tour at Alder Hey Children's Hospital, it truly is inspirational and we can't believe how much thought has been put into the smallest of things, yet makes such a difference. It really makes us want to strive to help more families have the holidays they deserve #alderheychildrenshospital #alderheycharity #supportingfamilies #trulyinspirational

We has such a lovely holiday in Birch Cottage. Perfect from a practical perspective, but also in a stunning setting with luxuries too. We will be recommending to friends and hope to come again. Thank you

User

Totally Loved it! The access is brilliant for people with disabilities, would 100% go back there. The hot tub was amazing!! only downside was hoist for hot tub not working but the staff came and swap hoists.

This is our 2nd visit to Brickhouse Cottages ...the first time they had only built the first row of cottages which is where we stayed & we really enjoyed it & thought how much thought had gone into the design & furnishing of them. Now there is 12 in total & we stayed in one of the newest ones ... these are even nicer ... so much room for us all .. beautiful patios with views over the lake & lovely modern furnishings inside. Cannot recommend these cottages highly enough definitely 5 star accommodation & my family all loved it there .Hopefully we will be back later on in the year.

Our 4th year at Brick house Cottages and stayed in "Holly" this time, it was so spacious and had a great hot tub which we used each day.

Nowhere like it for disabled holidays needless to say we have rebooked for next year.

Looking forward to seeing Erika and the gang in May 2019.

Nothing short of idyllic. We have just returned after a weekend stay in Hawthorne cottage and for the first time in my son's 25 year life have had all of his needs met.

This place goes above and beyond. The fixtures and fittings were lovely and good quality, very tastefully as well as practically fitted out.

The outlook onto the pond was so tranquill and the hot tub had a tracking hoist for easy açcess. My son loved it .....even in November.

I would recommend anyone staying here as it is just the best. Looking forward to booking again .

My family and myself have just spent a wonderful week in Hazel Cottage. Our two sons are both disabled (they have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy). Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, we didn’t want to go home, cannot wait to come back. Hazel Cottage met all of our needs, and being able to bring our two dogs on holiday was wonderful. Thank you to all of the staff. Xx

My family and i have just returned home after spending a week in Chestnut Cottage with over looked the fishing lake. Its really hard to find somewhere that caters to the needs of my 17 year old son with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Having a wonderful place to stay enabled us to have an unforgettable holiday for my son having us to to stay meant we could visit places my son never thought he would Blackpool/Liverpool and the gorgeous surrounding areas My son really enjoyed the Hot Tub he was in it every night after a long day. We were sad to be returning home we hope that we will be able to visit again. Thank You For Having me and my family we got to make precious memories that we will keep forever. Thank You Very Much

User

Just returned from a long weekend in Pine Cottage. As always, everything about the holiday was perfect. The hospitality is second to none. We have supported people with physical and learning disabilities to holiday at Brickhouse cottages a number of times now over the last couple of years. Our nursing service think very highly of you all, and I think I speak for everyone in saying that we wouldn’t go elsewhere - nothing else compares! We’ll see you again soon (July!)

User

Just back from my 2nd visit to Brickhoise Farm Cottages. It was my Niece & daughters 4th stay with my Granddaughter. All her needs are met which makes for a very needed break in a lovely setting and beautiful cottages. The new hydro pool was perfect for us. There is no where else that provides all our needs in one place would highly recommend a stay here. We have already booked for next year.

I took my disabled mum here for a last minute weekend for respite. It was bonfire night. The setting is beautiful, you really do feel like you are hidden away from the hustle and bustle or everyday life. The amenities are superb, lovely and warm and relaxing and everything was accommodated for. Will be sure to definitely return

User

I stayed here from 13/11/17 - 26/01/18 die to water damage to our house. There was myself (complete paraplegic) my husband, 4 children 8yr old girl, 4yr old boy, 2 year old identical twin boys and my 2 elderly weimaraners. I have never met anyone as caring and helpful as the staff at brickhouse. I had the pleasure of staying in Hawthorne, pine, hazel, poplar, birch and oak the facilities are amazing in each one. It was very sad leaving behind the staff is spent so much time with over the last 3 months but I will definitely be back under more relaxing holiday mode circumstances. Thanks guys you do an amazing job and made my stay that bit easier xxxxxxxx

I rely a lot on reviews so I hope somebody finds this useful. I've just come back from spending a week at brick House Farm cottages and I can hand on heart honestly say that it was so fantastic and relaxing. My husband is disabled and is wheelchair bound and everything from walking in the door to get him into bed to getting him into his normal daily routine was all catered for him. there was plenty of room inside the Cottage and plenty of room outside the Cottage. I would definitely recommend brickhouse Farm cottage to anybody who has disability needs or who just wants a relaxing break away, They really have put a lot of thought and consideration into these cottages as most people with disabilities will know that it's so hard to find somewhere that caters for everybody's needs and this is the place. it's quiet it's peaceful it's friendly and it's close to all the local amenities literally 20 minutes from anywhere in each Direction we loved it that much after two days we booked for next year it was fantastic it really was Thumbs Up Guys great job see you next year.

User

Congratulation Sue and Ian Rainford, for building these delightful Cottages, much thought has been given to each one. We will certainly be back again.

After much sourcing of web sites we finally discovered Brick Lane Cottages, and what a gem. We have just returned from a weeks stay in Oak Cottage.

The cottage had everything to make our visit enjoyable and stress free, hoist, track, shower and freedom to access all the ground floor space, in the wheelchair. We were four generations, which included Three children and we never got in each other's way. The position gives access to the country and coast, and we had a view over the fishing lake from the Cottage.

User

An amazing few days stay with everything that was needed to enable us to bring Mum and Dad away for the first time since Dad’s stroke. The professionalism and attention to detail from the staff from booking to arriving and during our stay was second to none. Having struggled to find an accessible cottage we were overwhelmed by how well equipped this one was and will definitely be returning again. Thank you for putting a bigger smile on Dad’s face than has been there for a long time
