Just spent the afternoon here for a family dinner to celebrate my husbands 50th and sons 18th. There were 25 of us and 25 different meals were delivered to us so that we could all eat the same time. Everyone enjoyed the food and the staff were fantastic, nothing was to much trouble. Would highly recommend!

I come here quite often with my boyfriend and we both love the food and drink. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good night out �.

Came last night with my partner and 3 kids for my birthday. Quick service and the meals we really nice steak was perfectly cooked too. Will definitely be coming again

Booked a table for 4 for me and the family,loved the experience from walking through the doors to walking back out.

Bar service was welcoming with a smile and very friendly,ordered our meals which came very quickly,food was fantastic all round the table,defeat the meat is a must if you like your steaks,very nice.

Great value for money and a nice atmosphere to eat.will definitely recommend and will be calling down again �

Three out four meals we poor. Three steaks full of fat and gristle. Lattice chips over cooked and exploded when trying to pick up using fork. Told waitress but no compensation offered. Won't be going back

Our food was okay, but the place needs a good clean .............. awful dirty smell for past couple of visits. First visit we put down to a one off, but next visit it smelt worse! Refurbish or good deep clean.

I've been a few times with partner and kids. Never had a problem at all with any of the food. Went yesterday tea time and was quite busy, ordered the 24oz steak and was only able to eat just over half, overcooked and full of fat! Worst steak I've ever had. Like I say always enjoyed it before but yesterday let it down!

Won't be going there again. Food awful, I ordered medium rare steak which was well done. Chips were like scraps and peas were bullets. £9.00 a round for two drinks.

Normal come here for food and have a good experience. Although yesterday wasn't came for Sunday dinner for Father's Day. The veg was rock solid and cold so when I asked for more they brought out a bowl full yet again rock solid and cold. My food has already come out with pepper on. The rest of meal was okay but not great and the yorkshires was abit hard too. My littles girls food came out when me and my partner had finished ours

First time I went 1 month ago the food was lovely and the price is very fair. Large portions too which is also a bonus, HOWEVER went yesterday after work, don’t know who the chef was but my burger was absolutely dripping with oil and pink inside, asked for well done bacon and it was like and a live pig. Don’t know where this illusion comes from that burgers should be pink inside! It’s not true! It’s not steak it’s mince and it’s dangerous. Anyway, i was that hungry after work that I attempted to eat half of the burger as it was busy and the table opposite had already complained, but I am totally paying for it today �put off going again now. Staff very friendly apart from one lady who didn’t crack a smile all evening.

This place doesn’t understand how to cook steak, and that’s not only evident from my bright pink steak I received when I ordered it well done yesterday, but also from the reviews on this page. The female manager suggested that they could pop the steak back on for a little longer or they’d be kind and do it straight away as a new one! It was just a joke and the female managers attitude was horrendous.

Just had a meal here. No customer service at all. Wasn't asked how the food was until she was coming to collect the plates. The burgers we're full of gristle, the chips tasted of pure oil, told the waitress about it and she wasn't that bothered and just said I will inform the chef. Been here numerous times but wouldn't come here again. They are not bothered about what experience you have they already have your money in the till

I decided to treat my husband to a last minute Father’s Day meal so we wandered down to Cardigan Fields so he had some choice. He chose the Bridewater Arms as we’d eaten at other Flaming Grill pubs and enjoyed the food. We had our 7 month old little boy with us as it was Father’s Day.

We didn’t have a problem finding a table which should have alarmed us on a Sunday and on Father’s Day!

The table we sat at was sticky but there was no staff around to inform. We chose our meals. My husband had a bacon and cheeseburger and I chose the beef Sunday roast. Ordering and paying at the bar was quick and easy and so as we waited, I fed our little boy and he drifted off to sleep.

We then realised that 40 minutes had passed since ordering so my husband went to the bar to chase up our food. It was then that he overheard the same staff member that served him, telling someone else who was ordering food that there was a 40 minute wait. He was eventually served and explained to the staff member our issue and was advised ‘it would be out when it was ready’. Charming.

We ended up waiting an hour and 10 minutes for food. Luckily, our son was still asleep so I had the chance to eat in peace!

My husbands burger was very gristly and he even pulled a small piece of bone out of his mouth at one point. But after waiting so long for it, he was starving so just ate what he could and left the burger.

My meal was no better. Unfortunately, my vegetables were cold and raw. My husband called over another member of staff who immeasurably apologised and rushed back into the kitchen. She came back out and said they would sort this. Nothing else. So 15 minutes went by and my food reappeared. By this point, my husband had almost finished his meal. And again, my vegetables were STILL raw and freezing cold and the stuffing was now missing. We called over the same member of staff, explained the vegetables were still raw and now the stuffing was missing. She asked ‘what do you want me to do this time?’. I just said don’t bloody bother. I waited over an hour for my meal for it to be raw, then waited again for it to still be raw and missing food. My husband had finished and I didn’t fancy eating alone.

Nothing was said from the staff member, she took our plates and walked away.



I will never eat here again. This may not be a statement that bothers the staff at the Bridewater Arms but I would like them to know that they spoiled what had been a lovely Father’s Day for my husband, up until that meal. I chose to surprise him with a meal as he deserved it and more. He has been my rock since our son was born as I unfortunately suffered serious complications that have left me in a lot of pain, on a lot of medication and I now struggle with my mobility most days as well. He has been far more than a hands on father and he deserved to be spoilt. Instead, we shared an awful meal that left us both disappointed. What a waste of £30.

Burnt food after 40 min wait then to top it off threatening behaviour and swearing from the kitchen so loud that the whole pub heard it including my children.
