About Café 164

**Open for takeaway from 1st July on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays** Still operating deliveries on Fridays

Independent bakery specialising in ciabatta and focaccia sandwiches. Speciality coffee from local roasters.

Café 164 Description

Café 164 is a fully licensed eat-in and take-away city centre sandwich shop and espresso bar in Leeds, just inside Munro House.

We sell a selection of sandwiches direct from our sister shop Bakery 164 on Woodhouse Lane; their ciabatta and focaccia loaves are freshly baked there every night to a special secret recipe developed over 18 years ago and only known to a select few!

We also have our own kitchen, producing knockout sandwiches of our own, beautiful salads and gorgeous cakes.

We also do outside catering for the city centre.

A bread shaping demonstration and participation with 164.
Looking at the mindful and therapeutic links between mental health and baking.
Welcome drinks and an introduction to our life in bread, followed by a demonstration of how to shape ciabatta loaves by our 164 bakers.
... Then, all participants will don an apron, and get stuck in, crafting their own loaves. Destress, decompress, and devote yourself to the silent, sensory, calming experience of hand shaping dough.
All participants will bake off their bread and take home their very own ciabatta loaves, hand made by themselves. Funds raised from ticket sales donated to Leeds Mind charity.

Amazing space and delicious sandwiches. The staff were excellent and really helpful. If you are going out lunching in Leeds and want a bright contemporary space with stuff to see this is the place for you

User

A warm and friendly atmosphere, which served as a welcome break from LCoM life around the corner. If a little pricey, their food was wonderfully prepared alongside some lovely fresh coffee.

User

This is a very pleasant cafe deep in the urban hub of Leeds. A mixed clientele of trendy young hipsters (says the old man!), and older folk from nearby large employers including the BBC and NHS.

I had a very nice coffee - they do very nice coffee! - i had a very nice cheese panini that had the most delicious relish on it

An urban oasis

User

Great place to go and have a coffee and look at the latest exhibition.

The staff were friendly and helpful, helping to answer a few queries I had about the exhibition.

I was able to sit and enjoy something to eat, drink and look at the photos hanging on the walls as well as reading and taking some time.
