About Catanger Llamas

Llama trekking, breeding and on farm accommodation, Northamptonshire

Catanger Llamas Description

Established in 1995, Catanger Llamas is in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, often referred to as the county of 'squires and spires' with idyllic villages and beautiful rolling countryside, unspoilt and blissfully quiet. Although you can't actually ride them, these lovely pack animals will willingly carry your rucksack whilst you enjoy the beautiful scenery. What better way to get away from it all than by leading a gentle llama along bridleways, farm tracks and country lanes. A perfect way to de-stress! Why not make a short break of it, come and explore this undiscovered part of the English countryside.

We have been awarded #CertificateOfExcellence 5 years running which means we are now in the hall of fame for TripAdvisor...WOW!! Thank you all so much for taking the time to review us, it really means a lot to us all at Catanger, especially our hard working trekking boys!
Quinn is especially delighted with the achievement. Starting out a very nervous youngster and turning into such a gentle and handsome valued trekker, today he even started his pack training and was a super star. We are SOOO proud of all our lovely llamas that make all of your experiences so special.
Thank you again xx

Went for trek this weekend, it was brilliant! We were very lucky as we got to see the first 2 babies of the year. One had just been born ten minutes before we arrived!! It was a fantastic morning and would really recommend it. Sarah was so lovely and friendly

User

We had an amazing trek yesterday 30th June, 10am. Barnaby was a true gent. Found out so much I didn't know about Llamas. So gentle, soft and wonderful natured animals. An experience you seriously can not miss out on.

User

We had a very special time at Catanger farm this morning. Sarah made us feel so welcome and the whole setting is so beautiful and peaceful. It really was a privilege to get quality time with these remarkable creatures, and to find out more about them. The surrounding area is also definitely worth visiting with a friendly pub serving fab food, just down in the next village. Thank you so much.

User

We had a fantastic time taking the llamas for a walk, (or was it them taking us 😀😀)

Sarah was great and told us loads of information about the llamas which was really interesting, We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely do it again 😀😀

Visited today.. Sarah you are an absolute credit to Catanger farm! In my eyes, you did nothing short of making each and every one of us feel welcomed & you spent your time talking to us in turns as the trek progressed, for me I felt valued as an individual, which was a* service considering you obviously have trekkers each day every day!

The trek is well worth the money, over 2 hours worth of trekking, then on to a walk round to see the remaining llamas at the farm. There’s a little cabin with llama goodies you can buy, and decking with benches where your welcomed to eat your own lunch. Sarah was readily available to recommend local places to eat also.

I’d recommend sturdy shoes as I had cheap trainers on which weren’t suitable for the dry soil! And 110% welly’s if you go in colder/ rainy months!

We’ve both come back throughly knackered, but throughly happy. Thank you so so much x

Ps) can I just add the llamas are clearly exceptionally well trained and looked after as is obvious by them, and their home. In the past I’ve groomed a llama and it was filthy and matted, however these llamas are as glamouorus as a llama can be x lovely x

Thank you so much for the trek experience this morning. It was a lovely surprise to give to our daughter who turned 13 today, we all loved it. Great guidance on how to handle the llamas, Grappa was so placid and well behaved. A great calm , peaceful walk in the beautiful countryside. And the bonus was seeing Zyla who was less than 24 hours old, plus the baby boy who was born half and hour before we arrived :-) thank you for a wonderful experience, we will remember this day for a long time

User

Thank you Sarah for a great day and especially to the handsome Yarrow who was a very patient Llama. We had a great time and it was so lovely to be out in the fresh air with these lovely animals. Sarah you were a wonderful guide and your love of Llamas and the wildlife around the Catanga site was lovely to see. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the trek. Just make sure you have your wellies with you as it was very muddy. But that kind of added to the fun.

User

Stayed overnight in the gypsy caravan and then went for a 2 hours walk the next day. Beautiful countryside and really quiet. Lovely to see all the llamas and meet the new arrivals who were born the day we arrived and the next morning. Both Sarah and Mary were very hospitable and had thought of everything. Thoroughly recommend it!

User

My mum brought me here for a surprise day out today and it was brilliant!! We had such a great time and Sarah, who took us round on the trek was lovely, really friendly and took the time to talk to everyone about the llamas. Would definitely recommend this place.

User

My Brownie unit visited Catanger Llamas a few evenings ago and had an absoluely amazing time. We are a large group and 25 Brownies took part as well as leaders and parent helpers and every single one of us had a marvellous time and thoroughly enjoyed they experience. We will definitely be visiting you again and can highly recommend Catanger Llamas to everyone, especially youth organisations and other groups.

User

Lovely, chilled llamas and excellent host. Highly recommend it!

User

Just had an overnight stay in the brand new Shepherds hut! It's beautiful, light, has amazing views is private but close to the amenities! A really comfortable bed and chairs and has everything you need! The fire-pit is great for BBQs and the llamas were fascinated by us! Felt like a unique little break! Definitely recommend!

User

I had a brilliant morning and I feel like I learnt loads about Llamas.

After about an hour I felt like I really understood my Llama Quin and by the end of the experience both me and my partner left wishing we could have taken quin and mung home with us.

We will be back again of that I have no doubt. It was worth the 4hours of driving.

It was a memorable day for all the right reasons and we can't wait to come back and walk quin and mung again.

User

Brill place, we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit, Sarah is lovely and very knowledgeable, a great way to spend a few hours in a lovely location.

User

Bought trekking experience for son, had a brilliant time. Llamas were very gentle and friendly. Got to see the 1st new born of 2018, so great bonus.

User

An absalutly amazing morning with the llama trekking, finished of with mulled wine by the . They are beautiful sweet creatures. Sarah was brilliant and she knew each one perfectly. We will definitely be returning. X

User

Amazing experience. Can't wait to come back and do it again.

User

Absolutely brilliant day out.

The llamas were really well trained but mischievous enough to still be fun.

Sarah explained how best to handle them and the do's and dont's to make sure that both us and the llamas both enjoyed the experience fully.

2.5 hour trek through beautiful countryside at a nice relaxed pace, all walking as a "pack".

So enjoyable. So glad we went.

User

Absolutely brilliant day out and animals are very looked after!
