It's Pie Day! Every Wednesday at the Cow and Calf we take the chance to celebrate the ultimate in pub classics: the humble British pie. As well as extra pies every Wednesday, you can add a starter or pudding for just £3. That's how you do a pub lunch properly!

All hail the rangpur lime! Grown mainly in India and Bangladesh, the rangpur lime is a hybrid fruit with a misleading name; it's about halfway between a Mandarin orange and a lemon. And it's this sweet/citrusey flavour that gives Tanqueray Rangpur it's unique taste. Hard to find, and even harder to put down.

Exciting News! In a couple of weeks (on the 25th Nov) we will be getting a full refurb of the pub with brand spanking new furniture and some big changes to our bar. It's going to take a couple of days and unfortunately we will be closed during the work, but we'll be back open in time for the next weekend! Re-opening day is Saturday 1st Dec, we hope to see you there!

This week's Gin of the Week is Gordon's Pink, which is infused with strawberries and raspberries to give it a crisp, fruity flavour that lingers on the tongue. Up here at the Cow and Calf we think it is best combined with Fever Tree's Elderflower Tonic; a sweet, refreshing partnership that keeps on giving.
