Making Art a Part of Everyday Life

Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places project in West Yorkshire

Creativescene Description

Imagine the Creative Scene across North Kirklees in ten years’ time… where the arts bubble up from the very seams of the place and events, gigs, festivals, theatre, music… all part of its currency and its distinctiveness… people take part and make things happen – making art a part of everyday life.

We are one of Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places projects

When you think of Blackpool, what comes to mind? The tower, the illuminations, the caravan parks or a youthful summer romance?
Growing up in one of the many B&Bs, Blackpool is the place that made Ruth who she is today. She’s been trawling the streets collecting other people’s memories to add to her own.
Featuring free Blackpool rock and a song about tea, this very British show celebrates the best and worst of one of our most famous seaside towns.
... The Navigation Tavern, Mirfield – Tuesday 9 October The Leggers Inn, Dewsbury – Wednesday 10 October Mill Valley Brewery, Cleckheaton – Thursday 11 October Batley Bulldogs RLFC, Batley – Friday 12 October Roberttown Community Centre – Saturday 13 October (no bar – bring your own drinks)

We went to Storm in a Teacup today at Thornhill. All four of us really enjoyed the show - our girls are 5 & 3 and both sat well during the show. All children there really seemed to enjoy it!

All staff are friendly, the show was great and the fact that the audience could then interact with the cast and look at the scenery / puppets afterwards was really lovely. Look forward to seeing another performance in future.
