What are Sure Start Children’s Centre's?
Sure Start Children’s Centre's provide a wide range of services and
information for all families expecting a baby or with children under 5.
. . . Children’s Centre’s put parents at the heart of partnership working, valuing them as experts in their own and their children’s lives and enabling them to be more confident carers and educators. We know that parents and carers are the most influential and enduring protector, playmate and teacher in a child’s life and that a parent’s commitment to their child’s development and learning has the biggest impact on their future.
Through a variety of activities and services, Sure Start Children’s Centres work with parents’ to help their children to be healthy and confident and ready for learning at school. Here, parents are also offered help and support to achieve their own aspirations.

Savile Town Children's Centre has now closed! We would like to take this opportunity to thank partner agencies, parents and carers for their continued support over the last 9 years. The Thornhill centre remains open, please come along to the One Stop Shop every Thursday 9am till 11:30am, Baby weighing 9am till 10:30am.

Thornhill Lees Children's Centre is now closed, There will no longer be any sessions running from this site. If you wish to see a Locala Nursery Nurse you can attend the Thornhill Children's centre site on a Thursday Morning 9:30 till 10:30am or Savile Town centre on a Tuesday afternoon 1pm till 2:30pm.
