Pizza for breakfast???? Must be the pregnancy hormones but this experiment turned out to be a success! Based on the french Soca pancake made with chickpea flour and water, this is topped with roasted vegetable tomato sauce, courgette, mushrooms, thyme, parsley, a sprinkling of Parmesan and a beautiful golden Burford Brown egg, all browned under the grill. Recipe coming soon!

Gastrointestinal problems are some of the most common symptoms people report to their GP. After serious illness is ruled out, Irritable Bowel Syndrome is often the most likely diagnosis. For a lot of people this equals chronic and often debilitating symptoms which are difficult to predict and control without taking regular pharmaceutical medications. Read my new blog post to find out how Functional Medicine can help you gain control of your gut health and quality of life.

It’s a sad time when doctors who want to improve the health of the nation come up against such hostility. Chronic diseases, in particular obesity and Type 2 Diabetes are increasing at an alarming rate despite the fact that the vast majority of people are actually following the current dietary guidelines advised by PHE. Surely it’s time to revise the Eatwell Plate?

Quick, light and easy Sunday dinner..... frittata with smoked lardons, roasted red pepper and tenderstem broccoli. Served this up with a massaged kale and pomegranate salad topped with toasted mixed seeds, and steamed green beans. Yum! 😋#eggs #quickdinner

Loved the simple pictorial views explaining the glycaemic impact of breads, fruits and vegetables in comparison to teaspoons of sugar. A very effective tool for understanding how what we eat affects our physiology. Thanks to Dr David Unwin. #inspiremed #lifestylemedicine @ Leeds Trinity University
