This shawl is so perfect for snuggling up in in cooler weather - it's Elena's Shawl by Stella aka @moody_knitter (whose photo this is 😍) and it uses six balls of Milburn 4ply in Steel. I love how it's so simple and elegant; it looks like a beautiful cosy hug. The pattern is now up on Ravelry, and the yarn is on our website - of course you don't have to use this specific one, we have lots of other colours of Milburn 4ply as well as eleventy other 4ply yarn bases in umpteen colours (you'd need three 100g skeins). 🙂 ----

ECY Pin Tins are now up on the website!
They’ve got my BFL drawing on the front - they’re simple but gorgeous. We only got a limited number as we’ll go for a different drawing on the front next time.
They have hinged lids, and come with two little bags of lightbulb pins in - approx 30 each of two colours; you can choose black & bronze, black & silver, or silver & bronze. ... Dimensions are 95 x 60 x 21mm, so that’s quite big but not as big as a tobacco tin.

It’s Wool Week at the moment (it lasts for two weeks, obvs 🤣) and getting colder here in the UK, so here’s a reminder to please buy wool and wear wool. It’s warmer than the equivalent manmade fibres, comes from a natural process, and is biodegrade (if and when you eventually wear it out!). No matter what your budget there is a wool for you - I’ve been able to wear wool on an extremely low budget in the past and there’s even greater choice now than ever. 💙💙💙 This yarn (Oakwor...th DK) is Polwarth wool - its so nice to be able to choose different breeds for different purposes. This is soft and smooth, but sturdy and hardwearing, with great stitch definition. ——

We love the new Boardwalk Stroll Poncho from @jstknitweardesigns in Titus 4ply. It is beautiful, with all the drape and warmth of a shawl but more fluidity than a sweater. We’ve got piles of 4ply/Fingering yarn in stock across most of the bases so you could go light and drapey, or more cosy, or even sparkly. 😍😍😍 It calls for three to four skeins (depending on size) of the MC and one skein of the CC. It wasn’t actually cold on our dog walk but was windy as hell, so of COURSE that means I need a handknit hat. 💨🍃💨🍃 Today’s hat of choice is my Take Heart hat by @fiona_alice_ - it calls for aran yarn but I used Whitfell Chunky (100% baby alpaca) in Damson.
