Went for steak night this week and was not disappointed at all. We were going for an anniversary meal and it was made to feel really special from start to end. Was asked to wait at the bar until our table was ready and that was only a 5 minute wait, our order was taken within 10 minutes of sitting down and arrived at our table within 20 minutes of ordering. The lamb kofta was presented really well and tasted even better than it looked. My wife had calamari rings for her starter and the portion size was immense. Our mains were a fillet steak and a T-bone, bone requested rare and they certainly were. The side sauces complimented the steaks beautifully. Our desserts were lemon tart which was a handy sized portion and a tiramisu that certainly had a kick of flavour to it. There were a fair amount of people in the restaurant and several large parties, but this didn’t affect any timings of our meal.

I love reading other peoples reviews on here as they make the place out to be under par, but our experience contradicts a lot of others reviews.

I couldn’t recommend steak night here enough.

Visited 25th January having booked a table. Food was delicious and great value for money (we had the fixed price menu).



Service was patchy, mainly with the drinks. Our waiter was very polite but kept forgetting our drinks until we queried where they were. To be honest though it wasn’t much of a problem as we weren’t in a rush and if that was rectified then it would have been perfect. We will definitely be back.

The staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is very calm. Great choice on menus. Previously had cocktails and they were superb.

Superb food, setting, drinks and service all for a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back.

I visited on 4th November with a group of friends and had a lovely time. We came on a Saturday afternoon to take advantage of the 2-for-1 cocktails offer and the 2 courses for £12.95 offer. I am gluten-free and was pleased that there were options included in the deal for me. Although, looking at the separate gluten-free menu, I was pleased to see a lot of choice for if I choose not to utilise the deal next time. The quality of food was good esp for the price of the deal! A starter or dessert plus a steak main for £12.95? You cannot grumble at that! The cocktails were well received by my friends and even though I couldn't try them because I was driving, I enjoyed the mocktails. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. We sat outside in the conservatory area and the atmosphere was lovely. I am already considering coming back next month for either mine/my mum's birthday. Thanks Ego @ The Beverley Arms :)

Had a party of 14 for a birthday meal easily accompanied 2 wheelchair, food was fantastic really tasty, the member of staff that was serving our table was absolutely fantastic and friendly and really patient and nothing was too much for her.

Excellent service and food was beautiful. Sat in the conservatory and was lovely with the sun shining. Had the roof opened up but went cool and whilst we were there they opened and closed it quite a few times. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff

After visiting ego for a family meal end of November we have been regular visitors ever since. We have had numerous meals here often visited in large groups over December and never been disappointed even during busy periods. Maybe have to wait a little longer when busy but that's to be expected don't mind waiting for good food. Staff are friendly, welcoming and always helpful. Would highly recommend.

Table was booked for 7.30pm this eve got there for 7.20pm seated straight away,the front house staff were amazing,the young guy waiting us was fab couldn’t do enough! Food was great and fast service will defiantly be going again �

Service was quick and the food was spot on. Always object to paying £20 for a £10 bottle of wine but that’s. not exclusive to here, just the way it is.



Would have been better if the table had been wiped down better and not covered in crumbs, plus there were no wine glasses on the table meaning our bottle just got plonked on the table and we were left to open it ourselves. No biggy, but when you’re overpaying for it, it would be nice that it was served properly.



We also shared the table with too many midgy flies. In November.



Still enjoyed the evening as we got our food in good time and it was very nice.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Beverley Arms today. We used to go frequently but after a couple of not great meals we stopped going. Today we gave it another chance and im glad we did. The food was lovely and we were seated in the sun room, which I really liked. The staff were fantastic, as always, too. We will be back again soon. Thank you �

First time I have visited the place. Pleasant surroundings and good speedy and friendly service. Didn't have a main course, had the 2 starter platters and wine which were both very nice. Will visit again

Went for lunch Saturday and service I feel has gone downhill since initially opened, had to ask for our drinks order after waiting 15 mins, then given our starters but got one wrong so had to wait, waiter asked after another 20 mins of collecting plates if we would u like to order desserts however we were waiting for our main course, at this point he gave my daughter a colouring pack. Very slow service to say the amount of customers there. Main course of steak and ale pie was burnt on the bottom of the dish. Overall slight disappointed with service / quality of food given the price.

The food was good, not outstanding but ok. I felt the kitchen was let down by the front of house. We booked a table for 7:15 but was not seated until 8pm then we were left sat at our table without so much as a menu for 20mins. In total it took 3hrs for 3 courses to be served and another 30mins sat waiting for the bill playing table tennis with the dessert menus and a wine bottle lid to pass the time. When i eventually managed to pay the bill and complain I was completely ignored. So to sum up good but not great food and worst service ever.

Bad experience .staff meeting held next to our table .very embarrassing for staff concerned . Took 2 staff to dispute problem. Then 3rd to resolve the bill .. management need to be aware

We visited ego on the half price steak night, we got there at quarter to 8 to be told they were running late and to wait at the bar, the bar was packed full with others waiting to the point where you couldn't even get to the bar to be served, we enquired how long the delay was and were told to come back at half past so we went and had a drink in a nearby pub then came back. We didnt get seated until 20 past 9. Two of the steaks on the menu were no longer available by this stage. So we ordered and were left waiting until 20 past 10 for our food to be brought out. Its a good job none of us wanted a desert as the kitchen had closed by the time we'd finished our mains. Our waiter was friendly enough but we were left waiting for drinks for ages, then were brought out the wrong drinks in 2 occassions. The food itself was ok but by the time we got it it was far too late for any of us to actually enjoy it. I definitely wont be visiting on a promotion night again.

Usually love coming to Ego but I visited with my husband, brother and his partner on the 31st March, it was busy we enjoyed a few cocktails and made the most of 2 for 1, however our meal was disappointing - food was cold and the pizza my husband and brother ordered (create your own) had toppings missing, the waitress who served was lovely and attended to our needs perfectly, just a shame as usually my experience of Ego is brilliant

Regularly dine at ego, but was disappointed with my meal today. Calamari starter was lovely. I asked for the paella without chicken or chorizo as I'm pescatarian, so had prawns, squid and mussels. Prawns and squid spot on but the mussels were very overcooked that they'd disappeared to nothing in the shell. Whole heat of the them was as if been microwaved. I don't know if a new chef has started as not been since Christmas, but very disappointed today, especially for a lunchtime.

I've been to Ego a number of times since it opened and have had some excellent meals but have to say the last two times of attending It's been very disappointing.

Andrew (Tim but dim) is a bit wet behind the ears as he dished up a thimble full of horseradish for 2 adult meals (is this a training issue?)......Tori however was brilliant - she acknowledged the issues and sorted without question.....such a shame for a poplar and busy restaurant - hopefully the management read and sort

Had pork fillet.nothing special .estrella damm larger was poor.taken an hour to get meal .all together poor .not much more to say.on the up side decor and surroundings is really nice

This was the worst meal I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. Which is an absolute shame as the front of house were very good with accommodating my Dad's Birthday and our waitress was lovely. I had £17.95 lamb which was supposed to be "served pink with a mustard herb crust on a pea purée" mine was three tiny pieces of massively overdone lamb with no crust. The pea purée was not a purée. It still had whole peas! I sent it back, waited half an hour for another one, by which time the rest of the table had eaten and had to wait patiently for me and my dauphinoise potatoes had gone stone cold. The replacement was fractionally better, by which time I was so hungry I ate it and the cold potatoes. In skilled hands this dish should be amazing. I hope it doesn't put people off ordering a similar dish at other restaurants. Three steaks were ordered. Two were so overly seasoned, I watched my partner drink water for the first time in two years! The garlic and chilli linguine just tasted of salt and chilli and there was more rocket than pasta. I strongly advise you retrain your chefs. You cannot charge your prices with such an inadequate level of cooking. And yes I'm more than qualified to pass judgement, not only am I a customer, I'm a chef.

And if you want to charge seven pounds for a dessert? Invest in a pastry chef.

Safe to say, I will not be returning.

The food is awful straight from the freezer to the microwave and asking top money for it. It's a disgrace would never eat there again

Had lunch for 4. Food terrible. Chicken like rubber no refund offered even though food inedible. Service pitifully slow waited 1 hour even though it was quiet.

Frozen chips..even cheap chip shops don't serve frozen chips.

Won't be going again wasting my money.

Come tonight for a meal with my husband .... it wasn't very busy as far as we could see but was stood waiting for someone for 10mins to seat us to be told there was a 20 min wait which we said fine as we hadn't pre booked but there only looked to be 5 or 6 tables full in the restaurant.... we went and got drinks waited 20mins but no one came after waiting 45mins (only us sat waiting at the bar) we left! We never had anything to eat but the 1 star review is for the poor service before hand and we will not be returning ..... we went somewhere else for our meal

Called mid week 1hour wait after starter.had chicken supreme blood in chicken.asked staff they said it was ok .but didn’t risk eating it .not happy really at all
