About Embody Pilates

Embody Pilates Leeds, provides Pilates classes and 1: 1's in Oakwood, Headingly, Meanwood and Roundhay.

Barre Pilates in Leeds is a much more challenging workout, standing and using the ballet barre to assist and challenge your movement.

Embody Pilates Description

EMBODY PILATES is about stability and commitment following a lifetime of constant movement; travelling the World, moving from city to city, beach to mountains, land to sea. One of the only things that stayed the solid for over 15 years was my practice of Pilates wherever I was in the World.

Now, Pilates has brought about a rooted stillness to my life where I consciously think about how I move, sit and stand. Finally, I feel in control of my body and my life. That's something we're all searching for surely?

I'm passionate about good posture and know how debilitating back and shoulder pain can be. Developing core strength and flexibility is the key to happier spine and a pain free you! One session can help you relax, feel more focused and begin to help you connect with your body, and we like to see what it CAN do rather than what it cannot.

Personal practice is when I feel connected in my body and mind. I needed to rest today, my hips and legs hurt from yesterday's cycle so I did an hour of Pilates and felt absolutely bloody amazing!
I'm a Pilates person, I love what it does for my posture. I love how it stretches my whole body and best of all how it challenges me to stay focused.

A good wholesome Saturday, a cycle to work, a little stretch, teaching then a cycle home with my cleats on (scary but I think I've nailed it now). The afternoon spent in Roundhay park with friends and hanging out with some of my favourite little people.
Getting up early and being outside all day is what spring is made for. Hope your Saturday was good? Tomorrow is a rest day!

Today we went hiking up the slopes, much more my scene. Still a tough walk up and down on snow and ice but time to take in the views.

Balancing at the top of a mountain. Looks pretty impressive doesn't it?!
The truth is I'm not enjoying it. I hate the cold, I can't stand the uncomfortable boots, I'm sick from holding so much tension in my body whilst trying to learn how to ski. I'm scared of heights, speed and falling. I'm exhausted and sad. I'm tired of people telling me, "to relax" , "keep going" , "don't give up".

Since September I have been having regular 1:1's with Embody Pilates. It has really improved not only my well being, balance and muscle strength but I can also touch my toes for the first time in my life! Louise delivers a personalised programme in a caring and happy environment which is perfect if, like me, you don't feel confident enough to join a full class at first. Recently I have been going to a class at my local leisure centre and the work I've done with Louise has really helped me feel part of the class. I really recommend taking some individuals classes with Embody Pilates if you need an extra something to get you going.
