We have recently returned from a fantastic trip to Egypt. Myself, my husband and our two children did the Nubian & Beaches package.

We can not rate this company highly enough. We were looked after and felt completely safe the entire trip. Our guide, Big Mo, was fabulous. He was fun, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Our group were totally amazing and were comprised of people from all over the world. We had many laughs and made wonderful memories and friends.

Egypt is a beautiful country steeped in the most astonishing history. We absolutely recommend both Egypt and Encounter Travel.

On my flight back from the Cairo, Egypt Nubian Adventure....awesome journey with my small group of (8) was the M-Group from Chicago. Our total group had 38 people & 21 of us made up group B that few from Cairo to Aswan & Luxor back to Cairo as an alternate option vs taking the train. The Felucca camp out down the Nile was amazing!!!!



Shout out to Emad (Ed), Ishmil, Mohamad (M&M) and Ahmad (airport) were are awesome. Their professionalism and passion for what they do, made the difference & we were lucky that our B group got along so well!

My husband and I went to Egypt a few weeks ago with a group of 5 others. It was AMAZING! One of the best trips I have taken. This was the first time I have gone on a guided tour through a company and I have to say my expectations were greatly exceeded. I felt very prepared for the trip based on the information provided and while on the trip our tour guide, Magz, always went above and beyond to make sure we were having fun. He even stopped to get us some dehydration salts since it was so hot. I will definitely be using them again and actually hope I can come back to Egypt again with more friends and family to show them how amazing Egypt is and of course we would definitely need Magz to be our guide!

My husband and I just got back from Discover Egypt tour, and am so thrilled we booked it through Encounters Travel. They took such good care of all of us from start to finish. There was not one mistake made, and we enjoyed ourselves without a care, because of their excellent organization, attention to detail, and warm welcome. Our guides Mohammed and Ahmed were so informative and fun, we learned so much, and our comfort was always priority. We will definitely use them again for our next trip. By the way, we felt safe at all times, the media has us brainwashed to think it is unsafe to go there, it is completely safe, probably more than in America. By all means, go to Egypt, and especially with Encounters Travel, you won't be disappointed.

My husband and I just came back from the Egypt Uncovered trip and it was above and beyond my expectations. The trip was amazing and so exciting. Prior to the trip, Mariska made sure we were clear about all of the options for the trips and made sure we had every document that we may possibly need prior to the trip.



While on the trip, I leaned so much about Ancient Egypt and present day Egypt and had fun while doing so. Our tour guide, Sherif was hilarious and so informative. He is excellent at what he does and made sure that we had everything we could possibly need every day we were with him. Khalifa also made sure we all were well taken care of and that we were clear about the itinerary. There is nothing about this trip I would change except to make it longer. Encounters Travel and Egypt Uncovered gets 5 stars from me. I can't wait to try the other excursions that Encounters Travel has to offer.

Just returned from the Discover Egypt tour with my cousin. Our guide, Big Mo, is the most genuine and intelligent man. To let you know Big Mo has been working as an archeologist for over 25 years, and his knowledge is astounding. We had a fantastic time and I was so pleased with the amount of activity of sights and touring mixed with traditional culture experience I.e. shopping in the markets, traditional Nubian dinner, etc. Big Mo will take care of your every needs and ensure you are always happy with your hotel rooms, purchases, etc. He made us feel so at ease and ensured we had a fantastic time. The group we had was amazing and it couldn't have been better. We did things together a lot, but on the optional outings we CHOSE to be together. It's an amazing adventure that certainly had me stepping outside my comfort zone. I can't wait to do further travel with this agency. Just back from an amazing 'Nubian Adventure' trip with Encounters, and loved every second of it. As a solo traveller, this trip was the best, most efficient way to see as much of Egypt, and experience as much of the country as possible in a short amount of time. Our guide Big Mo was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and ensured that we were always at the head of the queue at all the temples, even getting Komombo to open early on the day we visited so that we were the only ones there at first. Highlights of the trip: the Felucca, the dinner organised especially for us by the guides in Luxor when we got to taste real Egyptian food, and of course the pyramids (don't miss the sound & light show), Valley of the Kings, and not to forget the amazing drivers who made experiencing the traffic in Cairo very fun, and safe. Thanks to Ahmed in Luxor for accompagnying me to the station and putting me on the right train, inside the right cabin too! ;-) The support from everyone on this trip was amazing. Go do it!

It's been an interesting week after returning home from Egypt. I'm not one to express myself in words and I'm not sure I could really describe what I've just experienced in an eloquent way. Suffice to say that Egypt has gotten under my skin. I feel like it was a homecoming of sorts... A past life thing probably. I've seen "old" in England and Japan, but Egypt is "ancient". The temples are awesome in the truest sense of the word and to know that centuries of humanity has walked the markets in old Cairo is hard to grasp.



We had a wonderful guide, Waleed Kamouna, who has a PhD in Egyptology and is an absolute wealth of history, stories and more and our trip was all the more special because of him. I cannot say enough about Encounters Travel, and I would never hesitate to go abroad with the company again. Truly a class act from start to finish.



There is nothing worse than boring people with travel tales and too many photos, so I will tell you my favorite highlights. Visiting the Philea Temple erected for Isis. Boating and birdwatching in the second Cataract of the Nile on our way to a Nubian village complete with locally prepared traditional foods, music and dancing. I felt like I was in a National Geographic program. Visiting Komombu Temple erected for Sobek, the crocodile-headed God. It was all I could do not to collapse in tears (that past life thing in full form). I'm tearing up thinking about it right now. Walking into the tombs of Pharoahs in the Valley of the Kings. Walking through the second gate of old Cairo to visit a mosque, then wander the marketplace. Seeing the shop fronts showing off anything and everything for the masses of people. Having Turkish coffee in the most incredible coffee house I have ever been in. Having kosheree with the proprietor of an Egyptian perfume shop. Smoking hookah in a Nubian tent at the Red Sea.



If anyone has ever said they would like to go to Egypt, go... Immediately. It will change you forever.

I was on the Discover Egypt tour. It was fantastic. I traveled to Cairo alone, and upon arrival and until my departure, I was looked after very well. The guides are so supportive and knowledgeable. If you plan on traveling to Egypt, I would recommend this tour.

I traveled to Egypt with 8 friends and family members. Our Discover Egypt tour had a total of 19 persons. It was a fantastic time and one of the best trips I've had. Everything was well organized by Khalifa and Sheriff. It was a busy 9 days but well worth it. I learned so much and am in awe about Egypt's rich history and culture.



We felt very welcomed and safe throughout our trip. I'm telling everyone I know that this trip is a must!

I just got back from the Discover Egypt tour and I don't have enough good things to say. Our guide, Mohamed El Zawahry is an Egyptologist and is incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. I took my 2 kids, ages 12 and 16, and he did such an amazing job with them (and everyone else). Honestly as a blond haired, green eyed westerner I was a bit nervous about safety issues, but couldn't have felt better than I did (and I'm not a novice traveler). We saw so many things, learned so much, I only wish I would have added the Jordan trip on the front end of this tour! I had a medical complication in the middle of the trip and Mohammad and Walid went out of their way to help accommodate me. They made this trip so much more than it could have been! I highly recommend all of the 'extra' tours- Abu Simble, hot air balloon, Philae Temple- all incredible. Thanks for everything! My kids are still in awe!

I just got back from my amazing trip to Egypt!

My tour was Discover Egypt from January 13 to January 21, 2018... What can I say?! I grew up with a fascination for Egypt and I feel so blessed I was able to go, with so many dates as an option, once I saw the date of my birthday, that was it! What better way to spend my birthday than in a country that has always been on the top of my bucket list !

I was lucky to meet an amazing group of people that shared my desire to see this amazing place and every single person involved in this tour was absolutely amazing! My tour guy Big Mo was the best! I felt very safe and well taken care of from the moment I landed in Egypt to the day I left. I really appreciated the birthday celebration as well!

I miss every single moment I lived during those days.

I went with a fascination and left loving Egypt, it’s culture and it’s beautiful people.

I will treasure this experience forever.

I just finished my 9 day, Discover Egypt Tour. Encounters Travel did a great job and taking care of my friend and I the whole time. As two solo traveler females, we we're a little nervous to go to Egypt, but I didn't feel unsafe once. Encounters really does a good job of having staff that actually cares about you having a good time, I could tell it was genuine and not and act to please the customer. Our tour guide, Shariff, was amazing! He was SO knowlegable, passionate, and energetic the whole trip. He kept us going through the summer Egyptian heat. I'm very glad I went to see Egypt with this company and I would recommend it to anyone interested in going to Egypt. I will probably use them again someday to tour another country!

I just came home from an amazing bespoke trip round North India.

Encounters Travel were amazing. Hotels were beautiful, our driver and local guides I couldn’t praise more. The trip was well planned and ran like clockwork.

Encounters Travel Discover Egypt is the most comprehensive tour I've ever been on.They met us at the airport getting off the plane and took us back to the airport and saw that we got through security and everything in between. It is very safe in Egypt. You can walk the streets and when telling people that ask that we were from America we were met with smiles and positive comments. Because of the low number of tourists in the country right now Encounters Travel has negotiated with the hotels to stay in 5 star hotels. The pyramids are spectacular but it's only a small part of what you will see. Right now there are no crowds. An example My Wife and I took an optional tour to some pyramids southwest of Cairo. We went inside the Red Pyramid to the burial chambers. Two people passed us going in and two people passed us going out. That's 4 other people in the pyramid with us. All of the people with Encounters Travel are there to see to it that you have an enjoyable time and are extremely helpful.Our tour guide Big Mo is very knowledgeable and friendly.The Encounters agent in Hurghada, Mohamed,( I think everyone in Egypt is that name,HaHa) Was extremely pleasant and fun to be with. When Anass,the Encounters manager found out that my wife couldn't walk far he arraigned for a wheel chair to tour the Egyptian museum so she could see it all. This was my second time going on the Discover Egypt tour. I went last year with my son and when my wife heard all of our stories she wanted to see it. Someone asked her on the way home what her favorite part was and she replied "All of it" If you ever thought of going to Egypt now is the time.

A first class organisation, smoothly run with excellent staff. In particular our Guide Mohamed Karim who was most expert and caring of guides/experts.His insight into life in Egypt in addition to his historical knowledge was of top order. Our Nubian and Beaches holiday was excellent value, well run and carefully prepared. We would recommend this holiday in the highest terms.

I hope to have a good tour experience as it is too late now to change companies or plans. The booking process has been an absolute nightmare! Rude "Sales Manager" - full of judgmental attitude and control issues: refusing to release correct or updated invoices which is the only way to make a final balance payment. Over a full week with emails exchanged every day and still not able to finalize a booking which I erroneously brought 5 other people to this tour with me. I certainly hope the tour is not a colossal waste of money for the 5 friends I mistakenly misguided.

Encounters tour service was excellent from the beginning until the end. I missed my plane and Encounters made it a point to find out where I was by calling and texting me. They are truly concerned about your well-being. I had a great group and by the time the trip was over we were like family. I can go on and on because I truly had a beautiful time. I now know why Egypt is considered one of the seven wonders of the world. I am home reminiscing over my pictures and saying "My God! I can not believe I was there!"

Encounters Travel Discover Egypt is the most comprehensive tour I've ever been on.They met us at the airport getting off the plane and took us back to the airport and saw that we got through security and everything in between. It is very safe in Egypt. You can walk the streets and when telling people that ask that we were from America we were met with smiles and positive comments. Because of the low number of tourists in the country right now Encounters Travel has negotiated with the hotels to stay in 5 star hotels. The pyramids are spectacular but it's only a small part of what you will see. Right now there are no crowds. An example My Wife and I took an optional tour to some pyramids southwest of Cairo. We went inside the Red Pyramid to the burial chambers. Two people passed us going in and two people passed us going out. That's 4 other people in the pyramid with us. All of the people with Encounters Travel are there to see to it that you have an enjoyable time and are extremely helpful.Our tour guide Big Mo is very knowledgeable and friendly.The Encounters agent in Hurghada, Mohamed,( I think everyone in Egypt is that name,HaHa) Was extremely pleasant and fun to be with. When Anass,the Encounters manager found out that my wife couldn't walk far he arraigned for a wheel chair to tour the Egyptian museum so she could see it all. This was my second time going on the Discover Egypt tour. I went last year with my son and when my wife heard all of our stories she wanted to see it. Someone asked her on the way home what her favorite part was and she replied "All of it" If you ever thought of going to Egypt now is the time.

A first class organisation, smoothly run with excellent staff. In particular our Guide Mohamed Karim who was most expert and caring of guides/experts.His insight into life in Egypt in addition to his historical knowledge was of top order. Our Nubian and Beaches holiday was excellent value, well run and carefully prepared. We would recommend this holiday in the highest terms.

I hope to have a good tour experience as it is too late now to change companies or plans. The booking process has been an absolute nightmare! Rude "Sales Manager" - full of judgmental attitude and control issues: refusing to release correct or updated invoices which is the only way to make a final balance payment. Over a full week with emails exchanged every day and still not able to finalize a booking which I erroneously brought 5 other people to this tour with me. I certainly hope the tour is not a colossal waste of money for the 5 friends I mistakenly misguided.
