Last night we had our first #e1cdc or E1 coffee does countdown! We had an absolutely fantastic night and we hope you did too! Thanks to everyone who came along! Episode 1 Does Countdown: Tuesday 2nd October
Episode 1 presents to Leeds its very own version of Countdown - everyone's favourite spelling and numbers TV show since Sesame Street.
Teams of two people will compete in a mixture of traditional and more "abstract" rounds, all vying to win the coveted E1 Teapot.
... Lovers of the traditional Countdown format will be thrilled by the opening rounds of the game, whereas fans of 8 out of 10 Cats might have an edge later in in the evening.
Your hosts will be: Kyle O'Neil - we really wanted Jimmy Carr, but had to settle for Kyle. He's just as funny and equally adept at tax avoidance, so you won't notice the difference.
In Dictionary Corner will be Martyn Wilson. The very first book he read was the Oxford Children's Dictionary, however, since then he's only read The Hungry Caterpillar.
There will be food available to purchase from the bar, as well as E1's increasingly renowned coffee. A range of soft drinks will also be available for those who don't wish to be wired all evening.
The event will run from 7pm - 10pm and will cost just £5 for each team of two people.

Wow! I was surprised to see another cafe on Great George Street but very pleasantly surprised by the superbly crafted (and arted!) flat white I had here, using Ozone coffee which I haven't seen elsewhere in Leeds. I'm delighted to hear too that they plan to introduce a discount for those with their own cups. Welcome to Leeds, Episode One!

Top coffee and very friendly service. Nice to be asked 'the usual?' after only a few visits!

The staff are incredibly friendly and the coffee was one of the best I've had. Will be back for the usual again!

Popped in on my way to the hospital for my broken foot, had a lovely coffee!

Kyle was very helpful, great company. I explained I was struggling to park somewhere and he, very kindly, showed me an app that would help me cut out the walk to the parking metre and the frantic rummage for spare change!



Definitely recommend this coffee shop - Episode one makes a beautiful coffee and has amazing customer service!

My suggestion; come for the coffee stay for Kyle and Maeve. They’re literally the nicest people ever! Activley avoid any other coffee ��

Excellent coffee, really lovely staff and the coolest coffee machine I've ever seen. Definitely check them out if you're in Leeds!

Coffee to die for and a Master Barista - what a combination! Don't just grab and go, stop a while and enjoy the company of the lovely Maeve & Kyle in the tasteful, relaxed best addition to the ranks of Leeds coffee shops since coffee became available here (probably 1908, Kardomah Cafe of Briggate!).
