Let's give a nod to #NationalDessertDay today! Who would love to try this Wild Berry Kombucha and apple crumble?
We have teamed up with GingerVegan to create a series of recipes that compliment our delicious drinks.
This recipe pairs very nicely with the sweet and fruity notes of our Wild Berry Kombucha. Not to mention, the custard also contains the drink - AKA Kombucha custard! :) (Gut healing puddings here we come!)
... Here's how to make it:
For the Crumble: 500g Cooking apples 300g frozen berries 80g plus 3 tbsp organic raw cane sugar 100g plain flour 40g walnuts 50g pecan nuts 50g oats 100g vegan butter
1. Preheat the oven to 180C. Quarter, core and chop the apples and place in a baking dish. You can remove the skins if you wish but I find it is just as nice with them on. Mix the frozen berries and sprinkle over 3 tbsp sugar. 2. To make the crumble finely chop the nuts and mix with the flour, oats and sugar. Rub in the vegan butter until it resembles chunky breadcrumbs. You can do all this in a food processor if you prefer. Spread the crumble out over the top of the fruit. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes. 3. While the crumble is baking prepare the custard.
Kombucha Custard: 250ml single soya cream 200ml Wild Berry Equinox Kombucha 60g raw cane sugar 50ml soya milk 1 tbsp corn flour
1. Put the soya cream, kombucha and sugar in a small pan. In a small bowl mix the corn flour into 30 mls of the milk until smooth, then add the rest of the milk, mix again and finally add to the pan. Heat the custard on a medium heat until it comes to a simmer, stirring constantly. 2. Cook for a further 30 seconds until it has thickened. Remove from the heat. 3. Serve with the crumble and a glass of Wild Berry Kombucha. You can store any extra custard in the fridge in a sealed container, or even make the day before.

Kombucha has significantly helped me with my gut health. Out of all of the things I've tried and tested, it's the one thing I've actually felt a difference from! I think my doctors are blown away, by being told that drinking fermented tea has helped!

Kombucha has played a big part in helping me take control of my autoimmune issues and regain my health and happiness... equinox is my absolute fave , it’s delicious and always my go to drink !! ( even my lovely mum is a convert !! )

I’ve tried loads of other Kombuchas both here and in the US but Equinox is by far my favourite. It’s become a staple in our household nowadays and the fact it’s produced in Yorkshire makes it taste even better �

It makes me feel like I have more energy and when I have it with a meal i don’t feel bloated and too full, wish I’d found it years ago

Id heard about all the benefits of kombucha but felt quite intimidated about making my own kombucha, so when I saw the equinox kombucha in the shop, I was excited to try it. It was delicious and I love the range of flavours too. Would definitely recommend it!

I tried Kombucha in a restaurant a while back, and was told about the benefits of the drink. Equinox Kombucha is a refreshing drink and I love the range of fruit flavours to choose from. You really do need to read up about what the drink can do for your health and give it a try!

I travel to the UK twice a year to visit my mother and always order a case of Wild Berry kombucha while I'm there. My visits wouldn't be the same without it! Delightful taste -- very light with a great fizz. I'm a daily kombucha drinker, and if Equinox was available in the U.S., I'd be drinking it every day. Also, the customer service at Equinox is excellent. In particular, Joe has been extremely helpful and so friendly. Thanks so much for a great product.

I love this brand of kombucha . There are so many flavours to choose from , so you can't go wrong . I would highly recommend trying the wild berry and the original , and if you like ginger beer you'll love the ginger one!

I have a stomach ulcer and have been struggling with pain for many months. I have never had Kombucha before and drank quite a few bottles of Equinox last weekend at an event, and my ulcer pain has just disappeared. I havent taken anymore of my prescribed medication since. Amazing effect. Thank you.

I discovered Kombucca after recently turning vegan and this brand is by far the best tasting I have tried, and is available in our local Waitrose :)

First tasted at the Leeds yoga show last year, very lucky to have received a bottle in my goodie bag.
