Farthing Wood Day Nursery & Out Of School Club Description

Here at Farthing Wood we pride ourselves on providing quality and consistent care. We provide a safe, secure and supported environment for children to ensure they benefit from their time with us. We acknowledge that early years experiences are crucial to assist children in their transition through life. Our staff are positive role models and ensure all children reach their full potential. We offer full and part time places, also offering funded places for all 3 & 4 year olds. We also offer 2 year old funding. All staff are friendly, caring, enthusiastic, professional and are all fully qualified and trained in the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
Our out of school & holiday club works in partnership with local Schools to provide high quality childcare for children and families. We provide a play environment offering exciting and stimulating activities for all ages. We are a fully inclusive, ofsted registered setting catering for children Birth-11 years. During school holidays we operate full day care for families who require childcare over these periods. Shorter day sessions are also available. We drop-off & collect from the following schools: ALL SAINTS PRIMARY SCHOOL & COPLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL.

It's been a whirlwind few days but I would like to introduce you to our beautiful little boy Ollie, born 27/4 at 6.31am weighing 2lb 6oz. We're shocked and surprised at how early he is at 31+5 but he's doing amazingly well. He will be in Special Care for around 8 weeks but we hope he will be home sooner than that. I can't wait for him to meet you all and the children 💙

✏️ I’m not ready to write my name ✏️
Before you ask me to hold a pencil, tracing lines and joining the dots.
Before you ask me to hold a pencil a tracing over my name. PLEASE allow me to practice my grip, building my strength in my fingers.
... My little fingers need time to develop dexterity & strength. It takes a lot of physical effort to hold & handle a pencil correctly. Please remember I’m going to be at school until the age of 16, 18 or longer.
This window of time to PLAY is only short !
Allow me the chance to develop those fine motor skills, hand & eye coordination. To repeat & practice. Practice & repeat.
Allow me time to build control & that all important pincer grip.
Simple tasks as turning keys & stretching elastic bands. Playing with pegs or play dough are all helping me to build strength & coordination.
