TONIGHT...
Tom did a good job of hosting the FENTON BOOGIE OPEN-MIC/JAM last week, and I'm sure he'll eventually learn how to coil a cable properly...ha ha! We're thinking of changing the format slightly to give one act a 30 min headline slot, whilst keeping the open/jam thing going for the rest of the night. Fittingly, the 1st such slot will go to 1 of Tom's 3 bands, psychedelic garage indie band PERFUME. Give us your thoughts on the change of format, or tell us if you fancy that headline spot (you might not get it straight away, but if you come play a normal slot anyway, we might decide we like you enough to give you one eventually) ;)

So this week sees not only the 1st FENTON BOOGIE open-mic/jam of 2019, but also, after 5 or 6 years of us both doing it, STU'S LAST ONE....SHOCK-HORROR!!!! Yes, we do have plans in place to continue without him, but for now, come and give him a good send off, all you artists and punters alike...we know he'll be sorely missed by many (not me though...only kidding Stu, you know I luvz ya, mate...ha ha!) ;)

FENTON BOOGIE OPEN-MIC/JAM NEEDS A NEW FRONT MAN...
As some of you will know, Stu's moved to Doncaster, so coming to Leeds for the open-mic has become a bit impracticable. I don't want to be the MC, so for the FENTON BOOGIE to carry on, we need someone who can step into his massive shoes. You have to be confident, reliable (remember, we're on EVERY Tuesday night apart from Xmas/New Year), laid back, able to cope with demanding musicians queuing up with their queries, and it'd... be useful if you know your way around a sound-desk and can jam with our artists (particularly on bass). I'll look after the sound while you jam, but it's best to have 2 people who know what they're doing. We've been going for at least 5 years, so it would be sad if we had to fold now..by the way, there's a little bit of money involved, but not a lot, your love of live music should drive you on this...message us if you're interested, cheers...C@S ;)

The Fenton boogie is the best open mic I've been to in leeds , so friendly and such a range of musicians go , everyone's welcome , free sweeties every time for performers and u can get a pint for two pounds , highly reccomend heading down ! First place I ever played to an audience and never looked back since , Stuart is really encouraging and supportive , the sound is great , never a dull moment
