Love this place, always guaranteed a nice pint or two of real ale
It’s chuffin awesome! You better believe it.
I live in Telford and visit Wakefield quite often, our first port of call is always Harry's bar. The beer is the best and staff are excellent and they are so friendly. We have never had a bad pint in all of the years that we have visited. Some people who give negative feedback, are ones who have their own public houses. They think that they can do better, then crack on and see if you can do a better job than Harry's. They have survived a long time and still have a good reputation with customers. If you're nor happy with them then go away and take your comments on to someone who gives a s##t
I know that most people who visit harrys bar in Wakefield go for their excellent hand pulled beers, but, that's also have some excellent keg beers, notably the Lees bitter, now I know that you will say 'it's not like tetleys `. Of course it's not, it's better, has a nice tight head and tastes nothing like tetleys, only better, get down there this week and try the Lee's smooth, even if you only have an half, try it, you won't be disappointed, but, give it a go.
I come from Whitley Bay to visit my son in Wakefield about 6 times a year. The first port of call when I get off the train is this lovely little place. It reminds me of our own little gem the Dog and Rabbit in Whitley and the beers are often similar. North Riding selection as well as some good keg stuff. The atmosphere is enhanced by the absence of the usual pub stuff like TV and music (apart from the live version) and the abundance of good conversation. Great, friendly staff too.
Great staff, and great beer!
What more can you ask for?
Great beer. Friendly staff. Always a good crowd of polite people in the pub. Yet to hear a swear word there!
Good beer. Nice place, friendly staff and great outdoor heaters.
Friendly Staff, cracking selection of well kept real ale, cosy environment, and very reasonable prices
Fantastic place to visit. Usually a great choice of ale available. Small and friendly pub nice fire going in winter.
Can be very busy at times, a sign of its popularity.
