User

love this venue. where else would you meet friendly local staff and get to sit with a cup of tea or glass of wine while watching amazing shows

Had a great time at 12th Night, so good to see the place nearly full.

Full next time would be even better.

We need to treasure this wonderful place

User

What a treasure. How lucky are we to have this fabulous cinema? Latest releases, old classics, festivals of film. In comfort. With a glass of wine and or a reasonably priced snack, yes snack , not a meal deal in sight!

Great quality projection. Comfy seats. Friendly staff. And to top it all old school paper tickets!

Support this amazing place people of Calderdale.

User

Took my Nanna to the dementia friendly screening today. It was fantastic and I would highly recommend it. It was such a lovely atmosphere and we felt very relaxed. She loved singing along to the songs. We will definitely be back

User

This is one of my favourite places to go in this fine county of ours - it's a real jewel in West Yorkshire's cultural crown.

I go to watch films there around 2/3 times a month, as it shows a hugely eclectic range of movies - many of which you simply can't find on the big screen anywhere else. Tickets are a steal anyway, and they even run a superb off-peak loyalty scheme now.

Everyone who works there, without exception, is unendingly friendly and helpful (in stark contrast to the ghouls I encounter at most multiplexes), plus you can feast on homemade cakes, indie ice cream tubs, mugs of tea or hot chocolate, and even delicious, nutritious beer. Free parking is available close by too (if you know where to look).

Finally, since the post-flood refurbishment, the place looks amazing - full of plush old-school charm, with traditional 70s seating, a great balcony and lovely period features everywhere you look.

Top marks for a top cinema!

User

This cinema has so much character and good things going for it and reminds me of cinemas from when I was a kid including the little ticket stubs. Had a great night here and I’ll be returning to watch more films in the future!

User

The staff are friendly and helpful, the seating is comfortable with plenty of leg room (that's a must for me) They have hot, cold and alcoholic drinks and cakes popcorn etc. The films sound great as you'd expect from a good cinema

User

So delighted to have this in our town. Every time I go there I am thrilled to sit in comfortable seats with a glass of beer or wine plus popcorn and watch not just the latest releases but some amazing films selected by "The Friends of Hebden Bridge Picture House". It is the perfect venue for live streamings of, for example, National Theatre productions and Christmas Eve would not be complete without seeing "It's a Wonderful Life". A Marvellous place.

User

My first visit today and I will definitely be returning. Watched star wars during the parent and baby viewing with my 3 month old baby. Lovely warm welcome by wonderful staff with a cup of tea and biscuits on arrival! Stress free even with a little one as everyone is in the same boat. Felt brilliant to get out and do this. I highly recommend going

User

My favourite place to watch a film a cup of tea...lovely staff ...the best...I get very disappointed if I have to go to one of the larger cinemas to see a film.

User

Just perfect. Polite and friendly staff, who tackled the ever so slightly giddy young gentlemen giggling at the beginning of the movie. Loved the snack and drink options! A cup of tea with my movie!! Or a cheeky glass of wine!. The whole thing felt very cosy. Thankyou

User

It had seats and everything. Yeah it's a nice cinema, it doesn't seem to have proper surround sound with sound only coming from the front. But it's nice and loud and the picture is crisp. The weirdest thing was I got some snacks and they didn't rob me. Like at all! And there's hot chocolate served in mugs. It was like a cinema from an alternate dimension, a good one.

User

I regularly attend the parent and baby screenings which are great. It's a real treat for me and my other mum friends to be able to feel like we're taking part in normal life again! The screenings are a real asset to the cinema, thanks! It's also a beautiful old cinema full of character, friendly staff and just a much happier experience all round than any of the local chain cinemas.

User

I love Hebden Bridge Picture House. We are so lucky to have this fabulous resource in our town. There is an excellent mix of films, from blockbusters and children's films to art house and foreign ones. And best of all plenty of live streamed events. Thank you especially for "Eight Days a Week"!

User

I Love our local Hebden Bridge cinema, I regularly go with my kids, it's great to be able to see popular recent films at the parent and baby screenings. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the facilities are spotless and who doesn't love a mug of tea whilst watching a film.

User

Had a lovely first visit here last night. Watched the RSC production of Macbeth live. What a treat .....a mug of coffee and home made cake in the interval. What a beautiful piece of history. I will be back xx

User

Had a great night :) it's a really old fashioned picture house brought back memories of going to the pictures on a saturday morning, big red chairs heavy old curtains that drew back when the screen sprang to life. Cups of tea, coffee or hot chocolate in proper mugs snacks and home made cakes. The film even broke down half way through the staff couldn't apologise enough but for me it made it even more authentic :D

User

First time to a mother and baby (and grandma) viewing in a great and iconic cinema. I look forward to revisiting.

User

Excellent customer friendly front of house staff.

Like many places in Hebden there are hidden treasures, in the Picture House this is the current projectionist David Atherton an accomplished musician and writer and he knows his films, he went beyond his role to ensure we enjoyed our evening.

User

Absolutely love this place! The staff are so friendly, the tickets are very fairly priced ... you get lots of leg room without having to pay extra for it! As if that’s not all amazing enough ... you can get a brew in a proper mug to enjoy whilst watching your film!
