Hebden's Happy Hounds returns once more, bringing a fun filled afternoon to Calder Holmes Park for hounds and their humans.
Take part in the fun dog show, with your handsome hound or polite pooch, or try out your teamwork on the agility course. Wander round the stalls to find that special gift for your four legged friend and get expert advice to help with those training issues. With activities for the children, the event has something for everyone.
This event is free to enter, with a small donation of £1 to enter the fun dog show and the have a go agility. Proceeds of this will be donated to the Mayor's Charity.

Here we are in Warstein celebrating 55 years of twinning between Warstein and St Pol sur Ternoise. Cllr Stephne Harrison represented the Town Council, and shared our best wishes for their continued friendship, and our friendship with them too.
The Mayor’s of St Pol and Warstein were also joined by Mayors from Pietrapaola (Italy) and Wurzen (also Germany) in their celebrations who all expressed their hopes of friendships continuing into the future. The Hebden Bridge Twinning S...ociety was represented by David Parry along with other members that joined in with the celebrations.
The Town Council presented the local High School, College-Lycee European de Warstein with a collection of literary works, all with a link to Hebden Royd.

Great news that the Hebden Bridge Film Festival will be returning next year!
Cllr. Dr Carol Stow, Mayor of Hebden Royd said, “The film festival bought a real buzz to the town. A big thank you to everyone that attended the Mayor’s fundraising Ceilidh on Saturday!
Here’s a note from the Mayor Cllr Dr Carol Stow:
“A wonderful, sold out, ceilidh at Mytholmroyd Community Centre to raise money for my mayoral charity Slow The Flow Calderdale. Such good fun! Thank you to all who attended. Special thanks to Peaceworks, the ceilidh band, Scott Patient for the catering and all the local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle. A special mention to Fleur de Lys Hebden Bridge in Hebden Bridge who donated all the floral table decorations; they looked beautiful and then at the end of the evening we sold them off, raising even more money. Truly a community pulling together to support a good cause."

We are very pleased that work has stared on the wildflower area at Hawksclough today. The work will include the removal of some trees that are in very poor condition, and the burying of the fallen tree stump, as this currently causes a hazard. The area might look a bit of a state for the next few weeks but please bear with us. the results will be worth it. Removed trees will be replaced with fruit trees to create a mini orchard.
