About Hopscotch Tuel Lane Preschool

Pre-school educational childcare
Through play we hope to enhance the
development and learning of pre-schoolchildren.
We provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which children can learn, aiming to work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and their families. We are registered for 16 children each session and have a ratio of 1 adult to every 4 children for children under 3 years of age and 1 to 8 for children over 3.
The children are given the opportunity to play with a wide range of equipment and are encouraged to join in a varied plan of activities.
We follow the guidance within the Early Years Foundation Stage and follow a curriculum to cover the seven areas of learning.
Personal, social and emotional development
Communication and language, Literacy, Mathematics,
Understanding the world, Physical development
and Expressive arts and design.
¨Hopscotch has taken part in the Every Child a Talker ProjectThis enables our setting to enhance and progress early talk
¨The children are provided with a healthy snack and a drink of milk, sugar free juice or water during the session.
Children may be admitted when they are 2 years old. We will endeavour to admit your child at the appropriate time but cannot always guarantee it. We offer 2& 3yr old NEF funded places please ask staff for information.
You will be contacted towards the end of the half term before your child is due to start pre-school and invited in for visit when you can familiarise your child with the routine. We offer home visits.
On starting pre-school we are very flexible in the settling in of your child and are happy for parents to stay if they so wish. Your child’s key person will help them to settle in.
Your child is part of a small group of peers at Hopscotch not part of a crowd. . This is often less daunting than a larger setting.
We offer wrap around care for children who attend the school nursery to extend their day, which consists of a pre-school session and a lunch club session.
This enables continuity of care and flexibility for families.
