Last week it was time to say goodbye to our MOT ramp after 18 years of service, it was actually 40 years old in total so had seen better days! We’ve invested in a new Tecalemit ramp supplied and fitted by the team from AGS Garage equipment services. Also the outside of the building is getting a makeover so our signs have been temporarily removed. Should look much better when complete, keep a look 👀 out 😁

One of today’s jobs, Jack is tackling this Peugeot that’s in for a failed cylinder head gasket, the head has been to the engineers for refacing and now to rebuild it using new timing belt kit and full head gasket set. The cause of the failure was a faulty thermostat causing the engine to overheat and consequently blowing the head gasket 🚙

It’s not often we get one of these in the workshop!

Checking for leaks on the air conditioning system before carrying out the re-gas, unfortunately this one has a major leak in the system.

Diagnostics on your vehicle doesn’t just involve plugging it into our computer to see what the fault is! that’s just one part of the process. Today’s job was looking for a really bad flat spot under acceleration and one of the tests was to check the operation of the throttle position sensor using our Pico oscilloscope, we were happy with the performance of the sensor so we could move onto the next test. #testnotguess

Using our Bosch GTC-400C thermal imaging camera we able to check for all kinds of vehicle faults, on this Seat we can clearly see that just one side of the heated rear screen is working which confirms the customer’s complaint.

Major operation on this Audi A4 V6 diesel today, injection pump problem.

Phil and his team have always done everything to help me get my vehicle back on the road, including pulling my whole Dashboard out to locate a leak - which they found.

They're reasonably priced when you consider the quality of their work, and are always eager to help. Quite simply brilliant!!

Shelley is a very welcome sight too, when your car has broken and you need cheering up, she always has a huge smile.

I took my grandads old rover into Howarths garage, on Huddersfield

Road, as the fan belt was slipping and making an awful noise. I explained that he is hard of hearing and he felt as though he could get ripped off because of his age. They did an amazing job, changed two belts, checked the oil which was low, and they topped it up. And replaced some light bulbs that we didn’t even know were out! All for £70!

I have used this garage for many many years, and his father's before him. I have had excellent service from them, also find them to be very helpful and obliging. Wouldn't go anywhere else

I found yesterday I needed an MOT that day. I rang first thing and the garage got me in that day. All the staff were really helpful and I got my car back later in the afternoon... all done. Me and my husband have been going to Howarths for over 5 years and find it very helpful and very good value for money... they are not out there to scam or fleece money from you, just to look after your car. Thankyou all very much �

Had a front sping broken on my bmw while parked at work in Leeds. Rang the garage late Friday afternoon and arranged AA to recover the car to them Friday eve. Even though they were busy they still managed to fit me in and repair my car Saturday morning and I collected it before 12 Saturday morning. Perfect customer service and competitive price. Thank you very much.

Great service from the life saver, Phil and the team at Howarths, horrible noise started on my brakes on Friday afternoon, they booked my car in pronto for a SATURDAY appointment. Problem was new pads needed as previous pads were fitted incorrectly and were worn at an angle, very dodgy, and this work was done by a main dealer. I won't name them but I'm going to complain to Evans Halshaw about their shoddy work!! Howarths managed to save the discs so help save me money. Top job and garage, cheers Team!!

Excellent service. Have used this garage for years and have always found Phil to be very straightforward and trustworthy. I still take my car there despite having moved 40 mins away...it's worth the journey to not be ripped off.
