In October 2016 we released the orthophysical mobile application that provides a means of measuring knee function. The software provides 2 methods of measuring knee range of motion, one of which is a novel active tracking system that can measure knee range of motion in real time.
The application can record knee pain and functional outcomes, and can be used to monitor postoperative surgical wounds.
Historical data is stored and can be visualised as a graph of knee function over time. This application will be useful for orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals that treat patients who require monitoring of knee function.
It can also be used by patients or any individual who wishes to monitor their own knee function, for example when recovering from injury.
