Come in for fine coffee, cocktails, antipasti and sandwiches. With roof terrace dining!

Lazy Bird Wetherby Description

Brought on by being unimpressed with the equality of steaks & service in other establishments, Sir Dukes was born 6th July 2014. Forget fatty sirloins & chewy rib-eyes, here on Bank Street, we pride ourselves on being the best in the business. . . . We buy all our steaks from Britain's best butchers, funnily enough most are situated in God's own country. . . . . Yorkshire! ! ! !

Well well. What a gem of a place. I was here last night after my friend won the competition they ran. How amazing was the food! We devoured all of it. Such wonderful tastes for the palate! The staff were fun and friendly and we will most definitely be going back. Thank you ļæ½

We came here on Friday 1st June for my husbands birthday . We like to consider ourselves as regulars and have introduced ā€œdukesā€ to our family and friends over the past couple of years . We simply just love it here . Weā€™ve never had a bad meal , the staff are just lovely and we love the regular changes to the food and drinks menu. On Friday we had pre ordered the beef Wellington , wow it did not disappoint. It was incredible. The staff gave us an extra personal touch with it been my husbands birthday . Itā€™s a home from home we feel so relaxed here . Please say thank you to the chef , waiting staff and manager and everyone else behind the scenes who makes ā€œdukesā€ an exceptional place to go too . Love from the Cravenā€™s x

We came for a lovely meal here. Staff were very knowledgeable and passionate about their work. We ordered the infidelity at the butchery sharer which was amazing and totally worth the money. We were also happy to pay the optional 10% tip because service was amazing! Can't wait to visit again!

The most perfect evening! Your staff is a credit and your food is orgasmic. Do I have to say more?! I will deffo be back even tho your 80mile round trip each time! So worth it! This page doesnā€™t do it enough justices until you had the full blown experience!

The beautiful bistro is perfect for every occasion from just popping in for a coffee, having an evening meal or anything in between.

Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming.

The atmosphere was tranquil and relaxed. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was to die for and be prepared for a lot of it. You have to buy sides with the steaks but well worth it. Good recommendations by the manager. Cost very reasonable considering it is all best sourced meat and non of this tasteless supermarket stuff. Loved the boar sausages and wish these had a dish of their own. Definitely recommend it and will be going again soon. Thank you all.

Myself and my Girlfriend have been eyeing up the menu for Dukes on Facebook for a while and kept entering the competitions hoping to win a free meal... We never did unfortunately, but whilst strolling round lovely Wetherby this afternoon we decided to have some Lunch and see what the food is like anyway. It's a lovely place, staff very helpful and the menu has some amazing sounding meals. My girlfriend settled for steak and prawn salad, and I went for the Pork and prawn hot sandwich. With these we had a mocktail each which were divine and superb for the price. Now, the food..... The food was the nicest I have had for a very long time, and it was the best sandwich I have ever had. With the fries and salad I couldn't fault it at all. My Girlfriend loved her prawn and steak salad salad and said it was delicious. The portions were more than ample and the price extremely reasonable. All in all, it is an amazing gastro pub type restaurant and I cannot wait to go back, hopefully to try one of the big meat platters to share with my Girlfriend. I'd go as far to say that this was one of the best food experiences I've ever had. Well recommended.

Lovely atmosphere. Walked in and were greeted straight away. Couldnā€™t get a table straight away so were directed to the bar. Kept us informed of progress at all times. Good food and friendly staff.

I donā€™t usually write reviews but felt the need too: We drove from York last night; on arrival the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were early had a drink at the bar, as a gin lover you have a great choice & your bar guy recommended one I hadnā€™t tried before. At our table the service was faultless, menu explained, recommendations made & attentive on drink top ups. The food arrived & wow!! Meat cooked to perfection, probably too much for us all; but we gave it our best! Will we be back most definitely & I will be telling our friends about you too. We may even try your place at Boston Spa!

User

Heard a lot about Donā€™t tell the duke so thought weā€™d try it for my birthday and we werenā€™t disappointed! The service was fantastic and the food was superb! The fact they get there meat from Farmison got me excited before the food came! The young girl waitress was great ļæ½ Thank you for a great birthday. Will be back!!

Drove over an hour to get there for tea last night, worth every second. Im still full now. Steak cooked to absolute perfection, side portions are bigger than you'd expect so instead of trying everything first time I'd say plan a return visit. staff chilled and relaxed despite being obviously busy still took time to talk to you rather than rattle off an order and disappear. Good atmosphere, great food will definitely be back

Cosy, amazing character to the place and awesome food. I travelled from Liverpool just to taste the homemade pork pie and I was not disappointed. Staff are an absolute credit and I was made to feel really special. I asked for my favourite cocktail which was not on the menu and the barman was more than happy to make it for me and it was so delicious ļæ½

I had the most charming evening. Thank you xX

Came today for my husbands birthday after he has been wanting to come for a while. Well was definitely worth the travel the food was epic and did not disappoint! The staff where lovely, helpful and knew their stuff when asked about cocktails and food! The (Iā€™m presuming owner/manager man with amazing curly hair ļæ½) made us feel very welcome saying no rush as donā€™t need table so enjoy and made time to come over and chat. With 5 kids under 5 years old at time it resembled a zoo but the staff were great with them. Thank you will be back very soon ... without kids ļæ½

Went today for sunday lunch we were met at the door, shown to the bar where we were served our drinks .then shown to our seats in a small but busy dining room we were sat by the entrance which at first i was worried it would be a problem with people passing but it was fine...we ordered our food and enjoyed waiting listening to the well chosen music our starter was the duck egg yummy exactly what i expected after seeing the picture on the web site . The main meal arrived and i did panic a bit as we had ordered the sunday lunch for 2 but we managed not to leave too much with hindsight we should have gone for individual lunches but it was tasty.no room for dessert the coffee was decaff as requested and was lovely in all staff couldnt do enough for us without being too intrusive would recommend a visit just one negative salt and pepper there was only 3 sets for the whole place so had to be taken away and returned ...come on they dont cost that much

User

First impressions was very nicely surprised the decor and quaintness very welcoming, was quiet with the football being on but service was good and all bar staff very attentive, was rather expensive for the sharing surf & turf, if both are big eaters Iā€™d choose another option, would recommend the place though for a nice relaxing evening out šŸ‘šŸ¼

Visited here yesterday , after many recommendations, surroundings lovely, waiters very polite and informative about there food . The steak was very nice , but unfortunately not worth Ā£20, when a steak arrives with nothing else on the plate , itā€™s disappointing , no salad , no tomatoes , nothing , so it ends up being Ā£30 with some very dry fries , and a famous runny scotch egg which was not runny , but hard boiled . My daughter and partner had a Ā£67 platter , they have been many times , had a platter with everything included for Ā£60 ,again , just meat and a big tomato and a couple of mushrooms , didnā€™t look like a Ā£67 meal , plus having to again pay for the extras , a hard boiled scotch egg , donā€™t mind paying for anything that is value for money, but on this occasion it was not , still had a nice evening , but probably not return .

As a group of five friends we had late lunch on Sunday the food was excellent but was served on wooden boards and soon went cold the plates came out well before the food so they too were cold we all commented that we prefer hot food the kitchen is upstairs so what chance has the food staying hot on a wooden board

User

Well I have been before and it was very good but this recent visit was not good as the menu was not full choice and only have select four for the time of day ! Poor service and they should notify you before if things are not available on then menu ! Wasted trip of 45 miles round !

User

Went here this evening for my birthday as been wanting to try the Infidelity at the Butchery platter for ages after seeing adverts. When we sat down we were advised that no scotch eggs or sausages were available for platter. We asked if the price could be discounted due to this but were advised no discount could be applied but they could provide more of the other meats on the platter instead. Without the elements it's a fairly bog standard platter and not cheap so we decided to go elsewhere. Not overly impressed with customer service or the fact the platter was being advertised on Facebook today when it wasn't actually available.
