We had a great chat with award-winning Avante-garde Jazz trio J Frisco!
The trio comprises Lara Jones, Meg Roe and Gemma Freese fusing soprano sax, electric guitar, keyboard and vocals into a dynamic and exhilarating musical synergy. The group are acknowledged for their progressive approach - just after graduating, their talent was recognised winning the Jazz North introduces award; their unique sound resonates with contemporary issues and challenges the status quo.
Alongsi...de a busy performing schedule, the group actively observe and partake in the importance of arts education, delivering workshops that enable young women to explore their development through music and in turn, building themselves a varied, successful career.

LCoM has formed a partnership with Backstage Academy, offering valuable learning opportunities for students across both organisations.
The partnership will enable LCoM Musical Theatre students to work collaboratively with technical designers and event producers at Backstage Academy, providing a holistic approach to production from inception.

During the sessions students will be introduced to techniques from Declan Donnellan and Sanford Meisner, learning how to divert attention away from their nerves and boost their confidence.

Tonight is the LCoM Contemporary Pop Choir!
The Leeds College of Music Contemporary Choir is a high-octane choral ensemble, showcasing unique and original arrangements of rock and pop music.
The evening‚Äôs repertoire is themed around the idea of ‚Äėdecades‚Äô, beginning with songs from the 60s, working through the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s, before culminating with some of the students original work at the end of the show. All of the arrangements are designed to be dynamic and fresh, ...bringing a new take to old classics.
This is sure to be an amazing show as always, don't miss out!

Took part in the introduction to music photography course with Richard Storrow on Saturday 18th March. Thoroughly enjoyed the course and had learnt a lot about music photography, and had come away with some really good images.
Studied at Leeds college of music 2005-2008, loved it! And I am now about to open my own studio (1st of Feb) in Hunslet.... come see me to see what this University can do for you... Will.

Leeds College of Music is a vibrant seat of learning - all about music. We went to the "Nowt so Queer as Folk" concert yesterday and it was a fantastic evening of pure talent and excellent production. We often go to the free lunchtime concerts on Wednesdays and they are always a fantastic display of talented and passionate musicians.
It's just fab. From the cafe bar to the lovely security guard to the most beautiful piano in one of their recording rooms. Thanks Leeds. Xxxxx
I've just spent the weekend on the Audio Recording short course. This far exceeded my expectations! Alex Halliday is a superb tutor who is also a creative soul. He is generous in sharing his deep technical knowledge and his insights into the creative processes involved in making art this way. I left the course brimming with creative energy and with a massive boost to my confidence. Thank you Alex & LCoMÔŅĹ
I regularly attend the lunchtime recitals held in the Venue. These are both professional and of a high standard as well as being very well attended; a credit to the College which is situated in a very well located area of Leeds.
Good for the Soul.
Fabulous staff on reception and lots of gear to speed up the recording experience.
Exciting programme, excellent ensemble. Congrats, Tom Newall.

Auditioned here for classical piano yesterday and was the best experience I've had, the tutors made the audition feel so relaxed and enjoyable, whatever the outcome I am so happy with the staff at this music college, thanks for the experience!
