Went for lunch with a friend yesterday (using a Groupon voucher.) Read some less than positive reviews beforehand but went with an open mind. Couldn't have been better! Choice of 4 starters, 4 mains, 4 desserts for 2 courses using the voucher, plus a glass of wine. We both chose a main and dessert - meat balls with spaghetti for my friend and spinach and ricotta pasta for me - we both loved our choices. Then we debated over sticky toffee pudding but espresso affogato won - we added a measure of Amoretti to make it more luxurious (our waiter said Baileys is also good) - it was superb. The restaurant is a bit out of the way at the Merrion Centre but well worth the walk. The service was excellent (but it was fairly quiet with about a dozen people in), but it was not just efficient service it was friendly as well. Recommended.

Well what can I say from walking through the door to leaving the staff were so friendly and assertive ,went here for afternoon tea with a friend it was by far the I have tried and the cocktails were also very good . Definitely will be back x

My partner and I have been twice now, staff are friendly, service is fantastic and the food is lovely. We have enjoyed our nights here on both occasions and will look forward to many more evenings here. Would recommend to anyone

Had afternoon tea with Prosseco with my husband, and we both enjoyed it tremendously, the staff were very nice and helpful, we hadn't booked and the staff couldn't be anymore nicer

Agree with the previous comment, I went this afternoon with my toddler for lunch. The selection was great on both the adult and child’s menu. Service was lovely, very attentive and the food looked and tasted fab too. Definitely would go again with and without the little one.

we had afternoon tea on a Groupon for a Christmas present we had a very warm welcome asked if we wanted to go to our table or have a drink at the bar we ask if we could go to our table. We enjoyed our afternoon tea, we couldn't finished the selection of cakes so we had a doggy bag to take home.Thank you xx

Went for lunch today which I thoroughly enjoyed. Attentive pleasant staff. Good portion size. Good value for money. The meat fell off my baby ribs and the Bolognese and chilli pizza was very tasty. My friend's cheesy jalapeno nachos were enormous and flavoursome and her meatballs and pasta was huge. Another friend declared the burger very tasty and she finished with Eton mess. A lovely meal in a comfortable setting. Will be eating there again.

I have to admit the portions were fairly small so we went for 3 courses and had only paid for 2 so had to pay extra. We did look at other tables and the portions appeared to be more generous. It was lovely but I would be tempted to suggest if the portions were a similar size from a non Groupon you would be more tempted to go back again. We had a good evening though.

Overall enjoyed the experience, decor was warm and nice ambient feeling to it. Staff were friendly and attentive, the service was a little slow which we received complementary drinks for. We enjoyed the mains and desserts, the starters left us a little underwhelmed but we felt full and it was a good start to a top evening we had.

Won't go there again staff was ok it just like pub food nothing great about the food was cold when we got it and cheese was missing from the burger pizza was cold when received and it wasn't busy for them to make them miss takes

Nice environment, good choice of food at reasonable prices. The food was ok but not tantalizingly tasty. It was a shame the waiter dropped a knife on my top when clearing out table ( which left a stain). Watch out for the service charge which is automatically added.

We had travelled quite a way to see something in the arena so wanted a nice romantic meal. Spag Bol was bland and the spaghetti was hard. My garlic bread was like cardboard and again tasteless. I left most my meal so thought I’d eat my husbands chips- covered in herbs and salt so those got left too. Left the restaurant hungry but didn’t complain but we did regret not complaining but we was there for a weekend away so tried not to put a downer on it. Got given a wine menu but no other drinks list and when we asked about drinks we didn’t get another menu. Certainly wouldn’t return. Infact we left wishing we had gone somewhere else.

I went to Jamie Olivers in Leeds for just a fiver more and the experience and tastes were so superior. Sorry Marco, a Leeds boy you may be but you need to step up the offerings in this restaurant.

Went today, should've taken there being just a couple busy tables on a Friday lunchtime as a sign. My partner got a coke, it came in a very small glass filled to the brim with ice - had to ask to have the ice removed as there was barely any actual drink in it.

I got the bruschetta and the bread was barely warm, all quite tasteless and absolutely not worth the price. Other half got nachos which were very disappointing, we can make nachos at home way better than that. It was mainly tortilla chips with passata on top and questionable cheese, of which there was very little.

Mains took ages to come, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Other half got ribs and the sauce was really acidic, along with the whole thing having an unusual smell. The spinach and ricotta cannelloni was ok, but I didn't find any ricotta in it - it was more like mozzarella cannelloni with a tiny bit of spinach.



Service was good (aside from the delay with the mains) but we certainly won't be returning. Such a shame, especially since it was my partner's birthday.

We booked to eat before going to see Strictly as part of my mum's Xmas present! Table booked for 6pm gave us 1.5 hours! Starters came ok but as we were eating they came to tell us there was only enough dough for 1 pizza and we had ordered 2! My mum chose something else and we waited! At 5 to 7 they came to tell us there was no dough for any pizza and my daughter had to order something fast! When it all eventually arrived my daughter's meatballs were raw and my carbonara was curdled!! We complained and with no pause were told we didn't have to pay! We didn't have time for them to put it right and our food was inedible so not paying was the right thing! But the lack of care was shocking and put a real dampner on our evening! Disappointing revolting and the worst service I have ever had anywhere!! This place must be losing money hand over fist!!!!

Very disappointed. My brother and his girlfriend bought us a groupon for xmas. We ordered and the starters and drinks came quite quickly. However, after a couple of complaints, our mains arrived over 45 mins after we’d finished our starters.

We were told very quickly we wouldn’t have to pay for desserts or drinks - thank you. However, the girl serving hardly spoke to us, never apologised and seemed almost angry at us that we didn’t have to pay!! The duty manager was apologetic but when you only get a babysitter once in a blue moon we weren’t too pleased. The food was ok at best so not worth gushing about or making a hasty return to eat!! Pizza with no cheese!

First visit & wont be going back...

I ordered a duck starter which was literally a pot of cold and solid lard with a few pieces of duck meat embedded, served with 2 small pieces of bread..



The main course was tiny, literally just a piece of meat and a hard piece of potato with a rock solid casing and it tasted like something you would get on a plane.. No veg was served either, assume you were supposed to order separately..



Left the restaurant still hungry !!



Another bug bear was that I needed to change the booking beforehand, so I phoned the number that is stated on the restaurant website, to be told that I got through to Ibis hotels... I spoke to someone who was pretty unhelpful & never actually spoke to the restaurant.. So i gave up, but my friend had eaten there before and said you have to chose an option to get through to the restaurant area.. I can’t understand why I wasn’t told this and was advised that I didn’t have the right number when I explained I was trying to get through to Marcos restaurant.. Customer service is rubbish, you either need a dedicated line to your restaurant or staff that know what’s going on when you call and put you through appropriately...



Disappointing experience overall, Leeds is full of great restaurants so I can’t see this one lasting unless major improvements are made...
