Been a busy month or so of house moving, #WYPW work and teaching, but I now have a fully working studio with @ian.wrench_printmaker. He did all the construction, I directed and shifted stuff 😂
I am teaching all this weekend, so printmaking images to come!

I added the finishing touch to the #gallery wall at work the other day. loving the matt vinyl @zestforprint 😉👍 @wypw new #japanexhibition will be officially open today at 10.30am. Just in time for @mirfieldartsfestival2018 which will be happening all weekend. There will also be a family drop-in #Kamihanga #japanese #printmaking activity today 11-3 and a #weather Dolls - #teruterubozu #making on Sunday 11-2.

Can proudly say that am now a studio holder @wypw ! Got my keys today to my very first studio space which I will be sharing with fellow printmaker @ian.wrench_printmaker. The space is quite big but my camera struggles to fit it in 😂. Still in the planning stages with what goes where 🤔. Not sure about the floor either 🤣

It's the second day of the #Lino #Etching Weekend course and the group have now been introduced to colours and layering. Tissue stenciling has also been used. Still several hours to go and still lots to do!

Explore ways of making relief printed images using a caustic soda paste to etch into lino blocks. Lino etching is a very painterly technique, capable of producing gestural marks, gradations of tone, and texture. It can also be combined with traditional cutting methods using lino tools.

It has taken me a while to go through the photos but i have finally put a collection together from the lino etching weekend course! Me and #printmaker Jenny Thomas spent a weekend teaching a group how to use caustic soda paste to etch into lino blocks.
