A stay & play group for parents, grandparents, carers and pre-school childrenJoin us for Fun & Games, Music & Singing, Crafts, Toys and Toast & TeacakesWHEN: Tuesday & Thursday term-time mornings: 9. 45am – 11. 45amCOST: £2 per person over 6 months OR £1 per person with a Kirklees PassportWe are passionate about combating isolation, developing the whole person, parent & child, and increasing connections so that people feel they belong. Through toys, games, music, singing and sharing refreshments, we hope to increase the wellbeing of families and see them flourish. Baby Bistro partner with us to provide parent support during sessions including a baby self-weighing station. Melody Makers also partners with various Kirklees groups.

Can you offer help for a young girl who is expecting her first child? She has just moved to Huddersfield with nothing due to a house fire and no family. She has had a cot, bath, sterilising unit and pram donated but still needs clothes and a pram for a boy and other baby essentials. Please could you help?
If you have non of these things to donate but would like to give her a pi...ck me up treat to help her feel loved (such as toiletries etc) we are open to receiving these too.
Please can you first let me know what you plan to bring (so that we don't have a mountain of the same donated things) and then drop of quality and clean items at the Jubilee Centre (HD1 4SH), between 9.30-3.00.

Personal Assistant-Carer Rewarding job looking after a 3year old girl in a Huddersfield family home. To help Shalome get up or get ready for bed. To include: changing, bathing, oral bottle / tube feed, medicine, encourage involvement in family music/reflective time and preparing/unpacking from the day as per routine. Full training provided. 13.5 hours a week (Monday to Friday 07:15-08:30 and 18:00-19:30). Approx £8.50/hour. Start Sep 2018. Job share possibilities and casual workers are all ideal. Applicants will have empathy, be able to use their initiative and fit in with the whole family. DBS essential. Melody Makers is now closed until the 4th September. If you love Melody Makers, your kids are starting school but you still would like to be part of what goes on come and join our team of lovely volunteers. Put something back into the community. Feel better for having made a difference in your world.

Melody Makers AGM is tonight at Jubilee Centre 7.30pm - EVERYONE WELCOME
We celebrate with Ray and Anne that their brave son is alive and well after helping free the boys from the cave in Thailand. What an incredible achievement.

Shared from Mumbles magazine. Put everything in a pan, on a low heat. Keep stirring until it comes together. Take off the heat and cool. Have made this with my kids loads of times. You can even put peppermint essence in to make it smell nice 🙂
Hi all. Here at Melody Makers we have tried to keep costs to families as low as possible so that everyone can come. We are aware that money can be tight. On the other hand we are mindful of the challenges of bringing up children and want to support you by putting on classes that help you do this. We would love to have some more sessional workers to deliver smaller classes. We are not subsidised and would like these classes to be sustainable. Please let us know if you think that £2 per person per session from September is reasonable? Please feel free to send a private message or give us anonymous feedback (We will keep discounts for those with a Kirklees passes or with large families. We would never want to out price those families who need support)

Lovely to be back today after 3 weeks off including the Easter holidays! Such a friendly group to keep the children entertained as well as fed and watered with toast, teacake and coffee for me!!
Great playgroup, always a varietof activities on offer and different every week. My daughter loves the craft and the singing at the end.
After being introduced to Melody Makers by a friend when my little boy was 6 months old, I can honestly say I cannot imagine the past 2 years of his life without it. It is an amazing community of warm, caring and friendly people. A real haven with lots of lovely activities for the children to explore and experience alongside parents where everyone is welcomed and valued.
