Wonderful and caring staff. Today my little girl walked right into one of the pram displays (typical clumsy 2 year old) and bust her lip! 3 different members of staff stopped to help and asked if i needed anything and couldnt be more sorry! I thought this was so lovely and kind massive thank you! X

User

Went to the parenting event last night with my mum and we had such a good time and loved the free toy at the end Spent lots of money for our new arrival. Thanks for the great organisation.

User

We come here alot to shop and use the cafe (I have a 7month old baby). A girl called Chloe in the cafe is lovely! However the toilets need cleaned more regularly!!!!!! X

Visited store today as my My Babiie buggy broke day before going on holiday. Staff in transport area were extremely helpful and honest. I did not have receipt yet my purchase was located on computer. I was offered an exchange, advised what strollers were in stock and after purchasing my stroller it was offered to be built before I left store. Huge thank you to all in my time of need. Can now go on holiday knowing i have sturdy and more importantly safe buggy for my son.

User

The staff member I came into contact with was extremely helpful! I came to buy a mattress! Not for a child but for my dog! She wasn't phased, didn't ignore me, in fact she helped me choose a fantastic mattress! One my dog is still happily sleeping on!

The lady I got advice from the other day about car seats and travel systems was amazing I didn't manage to get her name but I felt so much more understanding of it all after speaking to her , I always have received brilliant /helpful custome service ( what ever it may be) . And the event at beginning of March was so helpful though very crowded hard to find anything.

User

Thank you Samya & jax and all the staff for all your lovely help for the past couple of days your all a credit to mothercare couldn't thank you enough

User

Spent nearly two hours in here going through all the different prams and car seats, I found our assistant Stacey very polite and knowledgable, couldn't help us enough. We will be back shortly to buy. Many thanks :)

User

I love the shop and the customer service I receive here. The quality of items purchased here is also excellent. Today I'm saddened to hear about the closure of a number of Mothercare shops and I hope Leeds Mothercare remains open.

User

I attended the baby and small child first aid course yesterday and found the class very helpful. One less thing to worry about knowing when our baby arrives. The instructor was friendly and informative. I would definitely recommend.

User

Good to have a great cafe to go with soft play and our little boy even got his first haircut. Really great children's hairdresser.

Before I start - I am in no way associated to MC, I'm just a regular mum of two that loves MC & highly recommends them - hope you find the following helpful.

I've attended MC over recent years for many different services... I attended the ToddlerCalm class & First Aid for Infants course... Both run so professionally, I learnt so much & came away with information that I still refer to today... Competitive prices too!!

I've used Pixifoto for the last 5 years & I've paid for 2 more sittings with my 2nd child this year... They have some of the best photographers that are great with kids working there... I try and go elsewhere to try different photographers but I always return to Pixifoto... The photo quality is impeccable but the images they capture are beautiful - the kids are all smiles & giggles & we haven't found a photographer yet who can match them at Pixifoto.

I love going to MC to use their Price match service - they've always the items in store - so I can buy and have it straight away... If they don't have stock - I've had free delivery to home saving me another visit before...

My son is 5 now but we love going into MC regularly to have a play, grab something to eat or just shop (they've got little trolleys to keep my boy entertained for any length visit)...

They've recently reopened the Cafe upstairs and its next to the hairdressers Shortcuts & a Happyland softplay area....

The cafe can be expensive to go regularly but the food is so well presented, yummy and there's so much variety - it's a lovely treat now and again to stay and eat...

The softplay area is well run, your kids cannot escape - the gate is guarded by an adult... There's a person manning different areas or levels of the softplay so there's rarely any fights or bad behaviour in there - the kids have a great time!! Babies are separate to the other kids which is great as the babies don't get in the way or trampled on... It's £4 in for my 5yo... Which is the normal rate of other softplay areas we go to...

Shortcuts hairdressers are 5 star!! They have cars for the kids to sit in instead of proper seats you get in other salons, they have DVDs on and even a PlayStation - I was very impressed by their hairdressers expertise, speed of cut and their overalls which have a waterproof window so my little one can play on his tablet and get his hair cut with no drama!! He's never looked so smart & the cut was exactly what I wanted! Other hairdressers just aren't catered for kids and don't seem to have the time for kids but Shortcuts is centred around your child.

Going back to MC to end this review - highly recommend going to them for your parenting questions and esp for buying car seats... The car seat fitting bays, the fact that an certified person goes out to your car to fit the seat is all very reassuring & ive changed cars then struggled to refit my car seat snugly - walked into MC and they were more than happy to go out and reshow me how to do it and where I was going wrong... (More than once)...

Also if you buy anything bulky or one too many bags of goods - the cashier always offers to help you to your car which is great esp when you have kids in tow!

I want to try the different classes they have on & if there's another baby in future I really want to try their expectant parent events which looks amazing!!

MC keeps improving services which for me echoes their commitment to customer experience & making sure the customer is central to everything they do! It just speaks volumes about what a great company they are... Hope they keep growing for many more generations to come!!

A bigger post will follow, The most amazing, kind, wonderful staff who could not have been nicer after my Nans bag was stolen! Thank you so much everyone! x

User

What's the point in having prams on show in the store when there out of stock. Also on the website as well

User

We have visited this store many times before and after having our son, making the most of the free parking and other stores on the site. We were extremely disappointed on our last visit to your relaunch on the 28th July to recieve a parking fine for overstaying by 20 minutes. We spent longer than usual in your store eating and browsing. We visited a number of other stores on the site returning to our car to find a ticket. Mothercare is the main reason we go to crown point as it is our most local store, but this has put us off returning to the store.

User

I’ve had some good experiences with the staff here and some bad, I think some of them are in the wrong job and should resign!!! Apart from that it’s an ok place to shop, spacious and easy to get around with baby changing facilities and a room where u can feed your baby. Cafe is overpriced and so is soft play area. Plenty parking outside but weekends can get busy! We almost missed our scan cos we couldn’t find a space, Babybond should reserve some parking for their customers!

User

have been coming to Mothercare for over 6 years purchasing pushchair pram ect. but after the way a member of your staff spoke to me today I won't be coming back she was rude spoke down to me and trying selling me old stock saying it was new. when I tried point it out to her she that it was old stock she became rather abrupt and rude and questioned me why I was buying another bugaboo buggy board when I already had one on my bugaboo donkey. so I took my money and services to John Lewis and will continue to go their from now on.

This is not the first run in with this same member of staff. is a shame as always enjoyed going to Mothercare.

it's a shame you have lost another customer bye Mothercare crown point.

User

Very poor customer service.. I ordered a highchair instore on Monday, I received it today and unfortunately it is faulty.

I called the store and ended up speaking with 4 different members of staff as they either didn't want to help, or passed the problem to a different department. Which lead me to speak to customer services, I rang and spoke to Dan. At no point did anyone apologies for the inconvenience caused so far and the inconvenience returning the highchair is going to cause, as my only options are to wait in from 8am till 8pm tomorrow for the highchair to be collected, then ring back 1hr after it has been collected so a new one can be ordered, and then have to wait up to 5days for a new highchair to be delivered.

Or I can can take it back to the store and a new order can be made and then wait another 5 days for one to be delivered.

So faced with those two options I will be returning it to store to get my money back and going across the carpark to purchase the same product from Smyths.

Previous bad experience of friends at monthercare lead me to purchase my pram and cot from Mamas and Papas. This incident combined with a few other experiences of Mothercare will result in me never ordering from the shop again and will be sharing my experiences with my expectant friends.

User

VERY VERY unhappy with mothercare I trusted them to have top quality service and customer care due to how big the company is yet both times I have used them they have messed up and the staff were very rude, I ordered my nursery furniture in store were upon paying they told me the delivery would be within 7 days and the delivery team would call me up in 2 days time to arrange a suitable delivery yet I heard nothing I rang up on day 7 were they told me they don't have the cot in stock and it would be a couple of weeks before it would be back in but they would deliver the wardrobe and draws in the mean time then the time passed for them to deliver that with no phone call or anything so I rang back up and was told they would be delivered within a couple of days and that I will get a phone call, so they text me at 18:34pm on Monday 19th January 2015 saying that my order had an estimated delivery between 14:19 to 17:19 on Tuesday 20th January 2015 as you can imagine I had to cancel my plans for the next day one of them being a physio session that I needed to have so this has caused much more distress than just time wasting. I then went in to store a couple of days ago and purchased an all black bugaboo cameleon 3 pushchair which I was told was limited edition and that the hood and apron was in the box then I got home and discovered that the information given to me in store was wrong the hood and apron was not in the box yet the instruction booklet advised that they should be in the box also so I rang up store and told them the issue, they then told me you will have to pay £90 extra for the hood and apron and there is nothing they can do about it, I went back in to store to question why iv been given the wrong information and been messed around the staff were very rude telling me its tough I have to pay the extra £90 and that iv got the pram cheaper than most places anyway I mean I had already payed £780 for the pram now I have to pay an extra £90 for a hood and apron wich comes with every other pram and what a pram NEEDS to be fully functional its absalutly ridiculous, the then said if I returned the pram they would need the booklet back to re sell the pram on which states the wrong information in so they were going to do the same thing to another customer. I am flabgasted at the treamtnet and such poor care I have had from mothercare specialy when I have chosen to spend a lot of my money here I expected much better It would take a lot to get me back on side, not a nice experience when the lead up to a new life been born should be exciting and fun. 0/5 stars

User

This is the second time I've been to this store and on both occasions the customer service has been poor. I ordered a pram today spending £750 to be told that the option to deliver to the store was unavailable, despite us not being available for a home delivery (we work full time). The staff seemed reluctant to explore this problem potentially costing a sale. Fortunately I was able to make alternative arrangements for the pram to be delivered to a relative.

There are no members of staff available when you need to enquire about an item and today I was left waiting after asking someone for the price of something I was going to purchase. I ended up walking out after being fed up of waiting. It's shocking when you spend a substantial amount in there and are left disappointed by poor customer service.

User

So the strap that I connects into the base of my 10 moth olds child car seat has come out whilst driving!! The strap should not be able to come out. It's only 3 month old. If I was in a crash he would of gone through my back window!!! Second faulty thing from mother care. I'm absolutely livid!!! #mothercare is a joke!!!!! avoid this Madrid car seat at all costs!!!

User

Poor customer service. purchased a car seat to not be told its not compatible with all car models. When returned to shop we were told that side of department is on a break & will have to wait till after 11:00. Need to learn how to acknowledge their customers instead of stood around gossiping.

User

Ordered a dressing gown online, they take my money and say it will be in store for me to pick up in a week,I don't hear from them again. I have to contact them a week later, they say sorry and send another one out apparently. Two days later I get a template email stating they are now out of stock of the item. So why take my money in the first place, selling items you don't even have!!! They offer no explanation and offer no alternate. Now they expect me to go shopping in 32 degree heat heavily pregnant what a joke!! I will never buy anything from mother care again appalling customer service from start to finish!!!

User

My latest experience at mothercare crown point was so appalling that I have lost sleep due to how upset I am. I was talked down to, lectured, patronised and basically treated like a thug and an idiot by one member of staff. What a shame that your store has been let down by this person. I have shopped at mothercare during he course of my pregnancy and since the birth of my son. Up until this experience I would have given mothercare crown point 5* due to the level of customer service and how friendly your staff are. It only takes one bad experience. I will not be back

User

My daughter is 14 months old so i’ve been coming to your store since I was pregnant and not once has your lift been working. For a shop that is aimed and parents & babies/young children i’m shocked. I once cane all the way with my daughter from Wakefield and couldn’t do anything as she was only young at the time and I was still suffering from my cesarean so I had to simply leave....!!!!! Been in today, 3 other people and myself were saying how it never ever works. You need to seriously re-think not having a lift fixed.

User

Lift out of order yet again.

No staff to help.

This has being in going since mt daughter was born 8 months agao absolutley discusting.

Asked at Elc to see a manager staff discussing thier night out.

Get it sorted mothercare so dangerous with a pram.

User

Just been to see peppa pig. The man who was in control was letting people from both sides of que go and take picture but when it came to our turn he said no. At no time said the que is this side. My baby started crying as he turned us away even after waiting in line and got to the front. To been next to see peppa pig.

Wot a total scum bag. The set up was rubbish no signs saying wait here for this or that. I won't go there again I hate the place. Why not have prams upstairs and kids can try toys downstairs in safety

As upstairs there's nothing stopping them falling down stairs.

User

If there was a zero star option id select that..

This is a message i sent to mothercare through their official complaints page on their website...

Complaining about the ordeal and hassle I have had to endure whilst ordering from your company. In total over the past 2 weeks I have spent close to the figure of £485 on your products.

I have had an issue with EVERY SINGLE ORDER placed.

Firstly I came to your Crown Point Store in Leeds 26/12/17 and ordered the Journey 3 wheel pushchair at £299 with the offer of a free liner and changing bag worth £40.

The pushchair was delivered within the ETA and overall we were pleased. We then noticed the free liner was there, but there was no changing bag.

I called customer services, and was on hold for a good 15 minutes, which I find to be unacceptable. Then I was told that at the time of purchase there were no changing bags in stock. Why was I not told this when I ordered my pushchair?

Your colleague from c/s put me on hold to find out when the bag would be back in stock, but then came back and told me that the bag was in stock anyway. Again, unacceptable.

A bag was reserved for me at the Crown Point Store and I was to make an unnecessary trip to pick it up, but finally, I had my changing bag.

Meanwhile 31st Dec i ordered a 2 pack of Maternity Nursing Bras and a pair of Maternity jeans, the day after I ordered 3 white cotton fitted Moses basket sheets. Est delivery for both orders was 5th Jan. I received a text message on the 4th telling me I had an order to pick up in store.

Assuming it was the first order of jeans and bras I went into store to be given my Moses basket sheets. I questioned this as this was the second order I placed, where was my first order of jeans and bras?

Told the assistant there should be another parcel and indeed he brought out another package which I assumed was all of my initial order.

It wasnt.

The jeans were there but no bras. On opening the package I found the jeans to have a ladder about half way up on the bump band, and the stitching was coming away from the waistband where it's attached to the bump band. I ordered the jeans in the boxing day sales and am very glad i did as I find the quality appalling and would have been incredibly disappointed had I paid full price.

Again, another unnecessary trip out to return the jeans.

That same morning I had called c/s (yet again) to find out why I had not been sent the bras. After being on hold for a ridiculous amount of time (yet again) I was told once more at the time of purchase the bras were out of stock. Why then, was I able to put them in my basket online and physically order them? Why was I not informed they weren't in stock?

The lady at c/s told me the bras were now in stock and I could have some sent to me free, but I would have to pay again for the said bras, as according to you I had not been charged for original lot. I decided to leave the order and double check that no money had left my account as I did not want to pay for something twice.

I then received another text telling my an order was ready to collect. Puzzled as I hadn't ordered anything else, I went into store and gave the assistant my order number for her to come back to me and tell me there was no item there for me to pick up. We worked out that the missing order was more than likely the infernal bras, so the sales assistant was authorised to give me some to take away there and then. Matter solved.

Then on another visit to your store, my Fiance and I spotted the Mothercare White Rocking Chair with Grey Cushion at £100 in sale and ordered it in store.

We were actually told that the chair came in another colour (which wasn't suitable for us) but was £5 cheaper in that colour. Can I ask why the same chair just a different colour was cheaper in price than the one we wanted?

Anyhoo, the chair was ordered in grey and white on 4th Jan. We were told it would be available to collect in store no earlier than 2pm on 10th Jan.

Today (7th Jan) Lo and behold I receive yet another text message telling me I had an order ready to collect in store.

There sat the rocking chair awaiting us.

We took it home and on assembly found that one of the legs was splintered all the way through.

As you can imagine being 8 and a half months pregnant, due to give birth in little over 2 weeks time, this was not well recieved.

One final unnecessary trip to Mothercare crown point was made, and I received a full refund for the chair.

I think you would agree that the 'service' I have received has been completely shambolic, and not one I would have expected from a company like yourself.

The no.1 company for expectant mothers and fathers? I don't think so. I would also like to outline the fact that I have paid in full for each item purchased even though you offer payment plan services, and I feel as though I have received no gratitude for this. I also think some compensation is definitely in order here. A little mark of appreciation for all the effort it has taken for me to make all of these trips into your store. I don't know if you are personally aware, but a woman heavily pregnant, carrying (at last scan) an already 7lbs baby doesn't find it easy to get out of bed in the morning and put on my socks and shoes myself, let alone make regular trips out using public transport for the majority of the past 2 weeks, picking up and returning items from your store.

It is not easy!

I look forward to your reply, and thank you for taking the time to read this complaint. It's lengthy, I know.

User

I never leave reviews for any company whether I've had a good experience or bad, as I like people to make their own minds up but on this occasion I cannot resist sharing how absolutely shocking mothercare at crown point is; we ordered a britax dual fix car seat on a Tuesday and would told it would be in store on the Friday after 2pm, we went to collect on the Saturday to be told it wasn't there and I should have waited for a text message to tell me it was in! But how am I to know to wait for a text if nobody bothers to tell me?!

I wouldn't mind it not being there had I not made a special journey into Leeds just to collect the seat.

Then to add insult to injury they told me they have no idea when it would arrive and that id to wait for a phone call. Bearing in mind I had paid for this seat, in full a total of £350! I wasn't happy with the service and I made then aware and was refunded £30, which was better than nothing.

I then got a text message saying the car seat had arrived on the Monday and I collected it Tuesday, and I'm pretty certain it wasn't my order as it had written on it save for Mrs Harrison from stock, now today I have received 3 texts saying they're reminding me to collect my seat and that they will only hold it for 7 days!!

The seat is fitted in my car so why they are telling me it's there makes me even more sure that the one I got wasn't my order!!

Also, the staff speak to you like you're the one in the wrong when it's them who are actually doing there jobs with such little competence that it's embarrassing!!

Don't think I'll rush back!

User

I got an offer saying, Get £10 off when you download Mothercare App. But why the prices are different in App and on Actual Website. Its crap.

For e.g.

Prod Code - A2897 is £45 on Website and in App it has price of £49.

Prod Code - J5359 is £24.99 on Website but £34.99 in App.

So whats the use of App. Just fooling people with a market gimmick ;-)

Just wasted my time downloading the app...will uninstall it

User

I am appauled at the service I have received. Ordered a car seat and paid online 1 July to collect 7 July. Got a text to say it was in store on 2 July. Go to collect it 5 July, spend an hour waiting whilst they look and a lady repeatedly asked me if someone else had collected it, before telling me actually it wouldn't be available until July 7. Came back today (July 11), again spend an hour waiting as apparently it's common for people to collect an order and then lie that they've got it before finally getting the car seat with no apology for my wasted two hours (oh yes there was a pathetic mumbled 'sorry' as I was already walking away). Seriously not great click and collect service and I will not spend any more money in your store, I am disgusted!

User

Hello,

This is the first time I have ever written a review, but as I am so upset/angry I am hoping this will encourage Mothercare to take their customers into more consideration.

I ordered the Sensory Ball Pit online on Tuesday 19th, to click and collect in the Leeds store on Wednesday 20th. Having not received a text by today 22nd, I rang the store, to be laughed at by a member of staff who kept picking up the wrong lines, only to be told after half an hour they didn't have it, and I'd need to ring customer services. She then gave me the wrong customer services number. I eventually found the correct number, and was on hold for 40 minutes, which I completely understand at this busy time of year. I was advised then that my order had been cancelled and I should have received an email. I was neither informed of said cancellation, or received an email. This now means that my nephew won't receive this gift, which is incredibly upsetting.

I understand Christmas is manic, however I would expect a company of your size with both a large online and store presence to be more professional in the way you handle your orders. If you say you are going to deliver, you should deliver. Or at least have the courtesy to let your customers know.

Please let me know what steps you will take to make sure this wont happen again?

Many Thanks

Extremely poor customer service. Had a issue with my granddaughters silver cross changing bag. Tried to blame how my daughter was carrying and over filling the bag? (It wasn’t over filled) that had caused the issue. They said silver cross had a different policy on the warranty and it wasn’t covered, even though I’d phoned earlier that morning to ask details of the warranty if I was to purchase a pram and accessories ( obviously gaining information to use when I called into store) Got my phone out to prove the call and ended up with a gang of staff wanting to know who I’d spoke to over phone, like I was lying. Was told that under no circumstance was it a manufacturer issue with the changing bag. Was made to feel we where lying and that my daughter had caused problem. After perseverance they agreed to exchange the bag and if I didn’t shut up it wasn’t getting replaced. Only for a young girl to turn up at the till to buy something and her changing bag was doing the same thing so it is a obvious fault. Also looked at reviews online for this product once we got home and this as been stated as a issue numerous times within the reviews. Never will I shop at mothercare again nor will my daughter or family. Spent thousands in there. The reason on the exchange receipt is stated as manufacturers fault? Even though they blamed my daughter. Poor poor customer service, being made to feel like a fraud over £65

User

Does no-one in Mothercare leeds answer the phone?!!! I have tried 5 times during the course of today, only once did someone answer only to be transferred to another dept who did not answer. All I want to know is if you have a particular car seat in stock to save me a journey tomorrow if not. So frustrating! Will take my business elsewhere

User

Disgusting service, I was picking a car seat up that I had paid in full for, first of all my order was lost, then when it was found someone else came and took over from the person who was dealing with my collection. The woman who took over was not a car seat specialist, she couldn't tell me how to fit it, she offered no help carting the massive box to my car (I picked it up on my own with my 1 year old), I was offered it fitting and checking by the person who sold me it, and again by the First Lady I saw today. But the person who took over had different ideas. She brought it to my car after I explained I needed assistance, took out of the box and literally shoved it in, laid on the back seat. She said there as no time to fit it but I should 'have a go, and if it doesn't "feel" right, come back near closing time and someone will check it'. I was less than happy, I started to explain I had come especially to collect it and that I have 2 children, I can't cart them out so late but she just walked away from me mid sentence. I could not be more disgusted at how she treat me and the miserable way she handled my order. I will never be coming to mothercare again.

User

Called the crown point store 2 weeks ago to get some help placing a order of buggy clips I needed 30 , they retail at £6,50 each , to be told girls were going on there break so did (I wanna ) call back later !!!! I said NO could they call me ? She took my number and guess what 2 weeks later I am still waiting !! Mothercare your staff take long tea breaks !!!

User

Apsolutely disgraceful click and collected a car seat last Wednesday got told it would be in store yesterday, no email to say it had been despatched, wasn't in store rung customer service the woman was right snotty and said it will be here today currently still sat waiting for them to pick the phone up too see if it's actually in store.

User

Appalled at the organisation of the peppa pig event. The queue was chaos the whole store was bedlam and there was no options in place for disabled people. It was queue all the way around the store for an hour+ or nothing. So I had a heartbroken toddler who couldn't understand why she couldn't meet peppa.

Clearly not well thought and planned out at all - the soft play pricing is ridiculous. Can't believe they expect a baby who cannot yet walk to PAY to go in - never known a soft play to charge for under 1s.

Despicable all in all and we won't be returning.

User

Absolutely shocking company !!! Don't buy from mothercare they don't pay back refunds and don't care once they take your money, damaged goods are a nightmare to sort out with this disgraceful excuse of a company !!!

Visited store today as my My Babiie buggy broke day before going on holiday. Staff in transport area were extremely helpful and honest. I did not have receipt yet my purchase was located on computer. Thank you Samya & jax and all the staff for all your lovely help for the past couple of days your all a credit to mothercare couldn't thank you enough

Good to have a great cafe to go with soft play and our little boy even got his first haircut. Really great children's hairdresser.

0/5 stars
