This was my second time at the headrow the staff are very good after my checks I was taken to the waiting part 2 minutes later they came to get me they tried to get blood but the vein was poor I think I had not drank enough fluid my fault so going back in two weeks it is a very worthwhile thing giving blood I would give it every week if I could

User

This was my 9th donation , usually go to seacroft but as that has closed down leeds headrow is the closest.. all the staff are friendly and very lovely the atmosphere is relaxed.. would urge other people to donate blood who don't already as you can also help save lives !! Great feeling!

User

Thanks to all of you who donate, I have received a big transfusion which saved my life, so I am forever grateful.

Such a small world, my nurse was a mum from school! Felt it went so much better than previous visits - well I managed a full pint from these flimsy veins and in a record time for me, so yes, it went very well!!

User

My first time donating yesterday . The staff made me feel so at ease as i was really nervous.. very friendly and helpful and kept me smiling and distracted while they did what they had to and sneaked the blood away so i couldn't see!

Will be back again in a few months for round 2 xx

My daughter and I went and donated for the first time on 24th and were very pleasantly surprised at how rewarding it is. The staff were really friendly and we had a laugh with them but they were very professional too....have already booked our 2nd appointment x

User

It was my first donation and from the moment I arrived I was put at ease and felt really welcomed. The lady at the desk thanked me for coming and everyone talked you through exactly what was happening and why at each stage. There was a quick questionnaire; a prick of the finger to check your iron levels; a drink and snack to keep your hydration and blood sugar up; and we were off! I felt fine afterwards, was congratulated by the nurses and wasn't left with any pain or bruising at all. I've and ready booked to go back and donate again.

Having donated blood for many a year this was my first ever platelet donation. The process does take some what longer then blood donation but given what I was there for it was a minor issue. Other than having to park a 5 minute walk away ( make sure you request a car park pass which can be sent to you ) and driving into Leeds from Wakefield then there was little further inconvenience.

Upon arriving at the centre to the physical donation process beginning there was no time spent waiting unnecessarily. Donating platelets does take up to 90 minutes however the staff do their best to make you feel as comfortable as possible and happily supply drinks whilst you're donating.

Quite honestly all I can add is that I made an appointment for my next donation prior to leaving. I'd encourage others to donate likewise.

User

Gave blood for the first time today felt really good helping someone in need will be back in as soon as I can donate again.

User

Gave blood again this afternoon, great friendly staff and very welcoming. In and out feeling great.

User

Excellent service, staff are always so helpful and kind. Felt abit faint after my last 1, the staff were so kind and couldn't do enough for me, defiantly felt in safe hands. Thank you.

User

Enjoyed giving my 107th pint on Thursday. Every time something has moved or changed there. Reception now on other side , you dont get you finger cleaned before pricking and tuc cheese sandwich biscuits available for afters.

Can we bring back the individually wrapped ginger biscuits like the ones you get on the ferry to Amsterdam ?

User

Easy way to get a free drink and a chocolate biscuit. All you have to do is give some blood, without the sweat and tears!

User

Always well looked after by all here, friendly and very professional!

User

All staff are friendly, helpful and if needed supportive from the minute you arrive til you leave. Saw them reassuring another donor who felt lighheaded and sorting her out quickly and with care and professionalism. Handy location for those living or working in Leeds happy to go donate. The after donation snacks are good too! 🌈

User

122nd whole blood donation. Used to donate at Seacroft Blood Centre so 1st time here. Just as good as Seacroft was. Very little waiting time, friendly staff. Highly recommended, if you're not yet a Blood / platelet donor and are thinking of it call in and enquire. Next visit booked for April.

User

Secind blood donation and first in Leeds. Very friendly team and I was in and out in a flash. Bit dissapointed with the post-donation snack selection (they have crimbles macaroons down south!) but other than that fantastic.

User

I have been here several times now - the staff are friendly and professional and there is no waiting around. The reason I have only given four stars is the location - when I was working in Leeds it was great, but now I have to make a specific journey to donate it's a bit of a niggle that there is no parking.
