The NHS Leadership Academy's purpose is to develop outstanding leadership in health, to improve people's health and their experience of the NHS.

To develop outstanding leadership in health, in order to improve people’s health and their experiences of the NHS.
We’ll aim to do this by:
Broadening, and where necessary changing, the range of leadership behaviours people in the health system use
Professionalising leadership: raising the profile, performance and impact of health system leaders, requiring and supporting them to demonstrate their fit and proper readiness to carry out their leadership role and defining what we expect from them.
Working in partnership to making leadership in the health system more inclusive and representative of the communities it serves
Developing leaders who are more innovative and can create a climate where innovation can flourish.

Just completed the course in Manchester. I advise everyone to attend if they get the opportunity, you'll never look back
Just back from my first 4 day residential and feel like I've put on a stone!! The food was excellent and the purple people are fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, if only i could have brought one home with me!!
I am a care assistant and I would like to learn more I sll want to work eith nhs put I have dynamic snd people dont want to know snd I think that is wrong
Home from first residential. Still feel amazing. What a great course. So pleased I'm on it. This has helped me move forward. X highly recommend to all. X
Have just finished EGA & thoroughly enjoyed the whole programme. Such a supportive set up in which to do an MSc & amazing tutors. It is a great opportunity & a privilege to have had it. It was hard work & needed a lot of discipline to complete the 15 personal study hours a week, but it was so worth it. Thank you to all the staff st the Academy & the staff at Birmingham Uni who also provided support.
Has enjoyed my time in cohort 7 so much!! Such an inspirational course, educating, getting creative juices flowing, giving nurses and midwives everywhere the confidence to make changes even small ones can make huge ripple effects! We are the largest workforce in the Nhs and we need to realise we can make such a difference! Pleasure to meet such amazing people who are working with me to care

Frontline leadership - induction wasn't sure by workshop 1 am hooked. The style of learning and how concepts are demonstrated has been innovative. I wld really like to go onto to do Mary seacole or elizabeth garrett and am exploring this. I had been thinking about Msc for a while but cldnt find the right course. I have found it now I just hope I can successfully apply - those who have already completed wld be great to hear your thoughts - watch this space and don't let the opportunity pass you by :-)
Complete my first residential last week on the EGA programme. And just completed our first GoToMeeting. Feeling privileged to be part of this programme.
Brilliant course. Just arrived home from my final residential days and can honestly say how proud and privileged I am to have attend this course.

An amazing team who are focused on NHS Patient care and staff development
Absolutely brilliant. Was on a Viva panel for potential NHS Chief Execs, it was a great experience listening to this high profile people trying to sell themselves as the future NHS Chief Execs. It was not nice telling someone they are not credible enough yet to be one. But all the same, it was a brilliant experience and thank you for the opportunity.

I am eager to use the skills already ! I highly recommend this course .
