The Leeds Dance Partnership Award will be given to someone who is making a big difference to dance the Leeds area. Went to see The little Mermaid in Sheffield last night. How refreshing. Loved it. Well thought out ...costumes and choreography beautiful and complemented each other brilliantly. Set and music fabulous. Huge well done on a polished performance and such beautiful delivery. Fantastic night of entertainment.
We went as a family to an amazing performance of The Ugly Duckling by Northern Ballet today. It was perfectly set up for children in length, story & venue AND in NO way skimped on quality of music, costumes, sets, choreography or dancing.
It was the perfect first introduction to ballet for my 3 year old & suitable to take along the 5 month old too.
Northern Ballet, thank you for the thoughtfulness you have put in to making the ballet performance a truely accessible experience for my children & a pleasure for the adults as well. I'm already looking forward to booking tickets to next year's production.
We had such a lovely time watching the Ugly Duckling in Goole today. My 4-year-old son and I loved every minute. It was funny as well as beautiful and the dancers kept our attention throughout. The music and musicians were fantastic, and the scenery and costumes looked fab! A treat all round.
The Ugly Duckling ballet was just perfect. My son 4.5 who never seen a ballet performance before was thrilled, laughing a lot and being taken by the emotions transferred by the ballet dancers so quickly. After the performance he said "I want to see it again and again". Can't wait for another one for kids in the Peterborough/Biggleswade area. Thank you, it was a real pleasure
Saw The Little Mermaid at The Lyceum in Sheffield and was blown away by the performance. I am fairly new to watching ballet so no where near knowledgeable but can see there was such a lot of hard work put into this. It was beautifully danced. It really felt like the dancers were moving under water - so fluid and graceful. Gorgeous arms! Would highly recommend.
Saw Jane Eyre last night and it was utterly beautiful. It was poetry in movement and, if it was music, I would play it again and again.
Saw Casanova in Cardiff last night, and I'm in danger of not having enough superlatives in my vocabulary to describe it! What a fabulous night of dance, and the costumes were just incredible. This goes straight to the top if my list of favourite performances.
Saw "The Little Mermaid " today and it was exquisite! Such a Beautiful Ballet!xx
Myself and my wife have been fans of Northern Ballet for years now and have always loved the many productions you have offered us, some on more than one occasion.
We visited Sheffield Lyceum to see Casanova on Friday night and both of us are absolutely gobsmacked by the sheer magnificence of this production, everything about this performance was magical, the dancers, choreography, music, costumes and set design, and we just wanted to send a big thank you to all involved in a super production that left us gasping for more as we departed.
Outstanding on every aspect, I sincerely hope the music soundtrack is made available to the public and best wishes to everyone for the rest of the tour. Terryfic...
My son and I have been and seen Goldilocks and the 3 bears the ugly duckling and the boy in the striped pyjamas all 3 were fantastic performances we love going to watch the northern ballet x

Just seen The Little Mermaid tonight at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. So amazing a must see performance. Thank you to David Nixon for taking time to talk to us about this production prior to the start of the performance and it was also great to meet and chat with Ommaira Kanga Perez after the show. I've been a fan of the Northern Ballet since I took my teenage daughter and 11 year old son to a production of Dracula at Sadlers Wells around 20 years ago! That cinematic production was a perfect introduction for adolescents, and since then I have seen as many productions as I can manage. My children continue to enjoy ballet, as does my husband - not just of the Northern Ballet, but of all sorts of dance! Thank you.
I went yesterday to watch the ugly duckling with my 3 year old. I was welcome in the door by a lovely gentleman and explain where things were, didnt catch his name but he was very friendly. Then we went to the cafe to have a bite to eat before the show. We had just a panini, so it was nice. And before the show we had 5 minutesfor crafts so we went to the crafts room where a lovely lady explain what we coud make so we opt for the duckling and just on time for the show. I have to say it was our first time and we loved it. My lg was amazed by the musicians and the lights and the scenes. It was amazing we will be back for sure.
I went to see Jane Eyre and I was enthralled from start to finish. Costumes, set design, music, choreography, lighting and of course performances were all superb.
Devastatingly heartbreaking in its perfection, that was an amazing cast of dancers. Tremendously acted, the music was haunting, death shall stalk my dreams, and tears of pure emotion have wet my cheeks. Based on the subject matter, the ballet of Boy In The Stripes Pajamas was always going to be awful or fantastic. Definitely the latter.
Amazing performance tonight of Jane Eyre, at The New Theatre Cardiff, a standing ovation, well deserved!! da iawn! well done all!! ’┐Į
Absolutely loved The Ugly Duckling this morning with my two sons and husband. Front row perfect seats to feel like it was a show just for us! The attention to detail is stunning and we loved every minute. Such a reasonable price for something so special. Keep it up!
"Casanova" was the third ballet I saw by this company and once more I was not disappointed - in fact, I loved it so much after just the first act, I bought another two tickets to see it again. Brilliant music and set design, great choreography, just great. Same applied to "Dracula" and "Dangerous Liaisons" saw both twice as well, would have gone more often if possible.
