At Premier Inn, we’re proud to say we have so many amazing women working for us. From work placements and training courses to leading apprenticeship programmes, we are always striving for them to go further. Here’s just one of the many stories we have to share about the talented women who work at Premier Inn and is proof that hard work pays off!
At the age of 18 Michaela Reynolds was one of 172 people put forward for 19 jobs. Despite having to catch five different buses to an...d from work, this didn’t stop her determination as she worked her way up from Housekeeper to Head Housekeeper to Reception Team Leader. After achieving her Level 4 apprenticeship, she became Hotel Manager of not just one, but two of our Birmingham hotels. To achieve all of this in just five and a half years is incredible.
She says: “I truly endorse this business as a great place to work. I was lucky with the support I’ve had from my managers here – when I joined I was a shy 18-year-old, but my managers along the way have recognised my potential and helped me to develop.”

For Level 4 apprentice and Assistant Manager Neil Hunt, since working for Whitbread, it’s all been about the growth in his self-confidence. Neil believes Whitbread has so much potential and scope for development for employees wanting to progress through the company and that the opportunities are endless. We’re proud to say that Whitbread are committed to investing in quality apprenticeships. Of the 647 apprenticeships Whitbread currently have in learning, 300 of them started last year. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we’re sharing the stories of just some of our amazing apprentices who tell us what their apprenticeships have meant for them.
Reception team member Beth Walker realised hospitality was her calling after a week’s work experience with Premier Inn. Now a full time apprentice, she says working for Premier Inn has built her self-confidence and significantly grown her organisation and communication skills. We stayed here for a family wedding on 3 Aug 2017. On arrival we were greeted by Jenessa who really made us feel at home and all through our stay could not do enough for us, very warm professional lady, thank you. The room was great, had everything and had two good nights there, bed really comfy, will certainly use the hotel again.

User

We are staying here at the moment and to be honest I can safely say we’ve found our home from home. Great food as well as fabulously appointed rooms and most of all amazing staff especially Tita. We the O Neill family from Cork will be back.

User

Wat a great place to stay rooms are so clean bed so soft and the staff are so nice and wat a great meal deal they do food was spot on me thanks to everyone that made it a great weekend paddy and emma from Ireland

User

Thank you so much to the fantastic staff at Premier Inn Leeds City West following our stay on Saturday 17/03/18

We mistakenly left our IPad in the room and didn’t even realise after checking out. I was contacted on the Sunday by the hotel to advise us we had left the valueable item.

The staff arranged for it to be sent on Monday by recorded delivery to my home address.

We received it the very next day.

I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help and reassurance in helping to return our iPad.

I have used this hotel many times and will continue to do so.

Thank you for such fantastic service and going above and beyond to help us.

Best wishes

Jane

Spent Saturday night here after watching the Leeds v Reading game (which Reading won - bonus). It's a very friendly hotel, efficient staff, lovely food. Had the best night sleep. The beds are so comfortable, with a lovely sized tv in the room. Would highly recommend it.

User

Perfect place for a stay in Leeds. The rooms are clean and comfortable, restaurant within the hotel with great menu and bar open till late if you fancy quiet drink in. The most important thing though is the staff - smiley, friendly and happy to go out of their way to help you.

Whenever traveling we always stay in Premier Inns and this one is the best we ever visited :-).

User

We have used this hotel twice now. 1 of them was for our family holiday in July. With 3 kids. And I have to say I love it and the kids loved it. Staff are so friendly. Rooms are very clean. The only thing that lets it down was the breakfast. It was not very nice. Just the food in General is not nice.

User

Stayed overnight for an event at Elland Road.

We booked in smoothly and was told our room upstairs the room was spacious and warm..we have stayed in many Premier Inns but this is the first time at Leeds West..as always the rooms are comfy and clean. We headed downstairs for a meal which was cooked to perfection. After a long bath got snuggled in bed and had a lovely sleep in the very comfy bed so we were able to arrive at the event fully refreshed will definitely book in here again.

User

Stayed here on 4/3/17, lovely room ,went to see Kaiser chiefs at first direct arena, got back to hotel for 11:15pm. Went into bar for a couple of beers only to be told that the bar had stopped serving at 11:00pm. The previous week we stayed in premier inn in Newcastle drinking untill 1:30 a.m. I told the barmen this and got a rude reply of "that was Newcastle, this is Leeds!!" Totally spoilt an otherwise enjoyable evening,if we had known the hotel bar closed at that time we would have stayed in the town.

User

Stayed here last night and have to agree with the other reviews, the staff are really friendly and helpful. The food was nice and the rooms were clean. My only advice would be to try and get a room on the 3rd floor. We were on the 2nd and the room above us was very noisy until about 2am, it sounded like they were pacing the room all night.

User

Stayed here last night and I must say you have some of the friendliest most helpful smiley staff from any Premier Inn that I have stayed at and there have been a lot . The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the traffic noise off the motorway right behind the hotel . Room was great and meal last night and breakfast this morning was good . Thank you .

User

My daughter and I stayed last night as attending Leeds university open day. From the moment we went up to reception they could not of been more friendly. Room was very clean. We had the meal deal and wow what a super evening meal. The breakfast was a little disorganised and would be the only downfall. Not enough plates etc they just need to be more aware of keeping on top of things. Breakfast was lovely apart from the sausages.

Lovely bonus of having a tea/coffee/milk station to take to your room. Well worth the stay

User

Clean with friendly staff. A little awkward to find as you have to go through a trading estate. Meals are good, although both cooked breakfast and dinner took a bit longer than expected to appear

User

We have been very happy with everything, but the only thing what we was so unhappy is. You can't get through to reception. We been stuck in the room for 45minutes trying to open door.

I manage to somehow open the door with twizzers. We phone booking team and they tried to get hold of the reception but no luck ever!!!

Maybe they should have a phones for reception in the rooms.

Adrevise very happy 😊

User

Room very nice and clean staff friendly

Close to Leeds town centre

However this is my 3rd visit to this hotel and there has never been 1 occasion were there not been a problem with breakfast unless your lucky enough to go down after 7am when a lovely lady called val comes onto her shift and sorts the problems out

The night staff cover breakfast till then but do not offer anything that you could call half descent service

The food is very nice but depending on who's on could take some time to get to you mornings and evenings

Had an evening meal there on 9/6/2017 and again waiting for someone to take my order was again a problem but I must say when I got my food it was very nice

The hotel manager must must re train most of the staff customer service and the hotel will be a pleasure to stay at

Thank you

User

I was up in Leeds for work, so only stayed for the one night. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good too, although you do need to get your black pudding from somewhere else as it's a bit bland. Now the room... clean and comfy. The bed is really comfy too. Unfortunately I think the location of the room I had was an issue. Room 1 is right next to the toilets in reception, so you can hear them refilling once they've been flushed. Then at some un-Godly hour in the morning, you can hear the music being played in reception. Now it might not bother most people, but for some reason it has me this time.

User

Food was lovely the room on the other hand smelt like wee we stayed for 2 nights and that's all we could smell it was awful we always stay at premier inns and normally enjoyed it

User

Room was lovely however the breakfast staff the gentleman assisting in the breakfast argued with me with telling me that I had not stayed in the room I had given him because I was not on his list. I had to go to reception and get it confirmed . I was then not offered a cooked breakfast by him or any other member

Have stayed several times with this premier inn and been good but having stayed on 27 April I was so disappointed. Ordered my meal at the bar to take back to my room. Done this before and waited about 20 mins which is perfectly acceptable. However on this occasion I waited 50 mins and had to go back to the bar to check. I then got a cold meal, no drink or pudding as ordered and then waited a further 10 mins for hot meal. The apology was not great and was offered a glass of coke or Pepsi. They need a lesson in customer service
