Another great Polyseam test at WF Ghent for the Protecta passive fire protection brand. 71 separate service penetration tested in multiple sealing systems.
In 2018 we did 37 fire tests in total around Europe. We expect this number to be well exceeded this year with what has already been planned and booked in!

PRODUCT UPGRADE Protecta has launched a new technical upgrade on our EX Mortar. Our most recent testing upgrade raises the number of 3rd party accredited tested solutions for the use of our Protecta EX Mortar to nearly 100. The mortar can provide structural seals in floors and is also suitable for vertical applications.

The first fire test of the year, back in Ghent, Belgium.
Testing pattress blank seals with Protecta FR Boards in a 100mm flexible partition. Not too much going on in the test set up however the evidence gained allows us to migrate masses of existing FR Board approvals across to this additional installation system. This test came about from discussion with UK installers where this is a popular retro fit system with no requirement for aperture framing or lining.
Pics are from... before the test, after 60 mins, after 120mins of testing and the post-test exposed face. No failures to the blank seals to report.

As part of our ongoing testing programme, we are pleased to release the latest upgraded version of our European Technical Assessment (ETA) for Protecta® FR Board, supported by revised technical data and installation sheets.
New approvals include: • Linear gap seals up to 800mm wide in concrete floors • Large PEX pipe-in-pipes and arrangement of PEX pipes in bundles.... • Metal pipes insulated with PE foam insulation. • PVC pipes up to Ø 400mm to EI 90 in drywalls and EI 120 in rigid walls. • Composite pipes (including Blue Power,Wavin SiTech, Aquatherm Green,Geberit Silent, Polo-Kal NG and Rehau Raupiano systems) • Conduits (plastic pipes with cables) up to Ø 110mm. • New sound insulation tests included to latest standard. • Updated pipe-end configurations based on EN1366-3, to clarify and help you decide if the use of your pipe (e.g. Soil Vent pipes) is covered by our approvals.
