Suki is a content happy girl, despite her age Suki has a lot of young traits as after all, age is just a number. Suki is playful, enjoys the company of people, going out for walks and the freedom to play in the garden. Suki loves being in a foster home and we can get a good insight of how she would be in a new home. Suki would need someone around most of the day as she prefers someone to keep her company. Suki has previously lived with both dogs and cats but it is in her best... interest now if she was the only dog in the home as she enjoys the attention to herself. Suki has also previously lived with a variety of aged children but because of her quiet gentle nature she would be better with older children. Suki is eligible to be rehomed on the Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme (EARS) if you live in the Halifax, Huddersfield or Bradford area.
If you would like to know more about Suki and the EARS scheme please contact us on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk

This is our lovely boy Charlie!
He is looking for a new home where he can be the only bird in the cage. We feel a home environment rather than an aviary set up would be best for this lovely older boy as he has always lived in a household set up. If you would like to offer this lovely 11 year old a new start in life please contact the centre on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk

Does your cat scratch in unwanted places? Scratching is a instinctive and natural behaviour for cats trying to stop this can make your cat anxious and stressed. We have a product called Feliscratch which you place where you would like them to scratch instead such as a scratching post. Each pipette contains a natural pheromoe that cats leave when they scratch and will help to encourage them to scratch there again. Each pack lasts you 4 weeks.
We also stock a whole variety of other items on our vet shop page and all proceeds go back into the care of the animals we have. https://www.rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbradf ord.org.uk/store

Say hello to Harold, a 1 year old chap currently looking for a new home.
Harold is a spritely, enthusiastic ferret. He loves nothing but exploring his pen and climbing as high as he possibly can. Harold is fine to handle and gets daily socialising from staff and volunteers who have lots of fun with him. He is currently a single ferret but we are looking to find a home with a female ferret that he can be paired up to. If you already have accommodation for a ferret please provi...de photos if you come down to meet him. We do not have any previous information about Harold or what he is like around other animals or children however there are staff members who can advise you.
If you are interested in giving Harold a loving home please come to the Animal Centre for a viewing or ring us on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk for more info.

Meet Oscar a sweet 9 year old lad looking for a new home!
Oscar is a placid, affection dog who has been well mannered since the day he arrived. He enjoys his walks. He gets a lot of fuss and attention from many staff members and he is starting going out on regular walks with volunteers. Oscar was previously left during working hours in his previous home and seemed to cope well. He is confident around men and women and we feel as though he is the same around children from what... we have observed. If you do have a family you will get to spend time with him in our home room and go for a walk to see how Oscar gets on with everyone. Oscar has previously lived with a dog so if you do have a dog already with a similar character we will invite you down for a dog mix to see how both dogs interact.
If you would like to know more about Oscar please contact us on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk

Meet Rosie, a lovely 7 year old lady currently looking for a new home! 😸
Rosie has previously spent some of her time in a foster home where she was playful and liked the company of people. Know that she is confident and settling well in the cattery she is looking for a home where she will get plenty of TLC. We are unsure if Rosie has previously lived with another cat or a dog so we would advise for now that she was the only animal in the home. Rosie would also suit an adult only home where she is given plenty of toys and a nice comfy hide out.
If you think you can offer Rosie a home please call us on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk

Molly and Mabel are a pair of 8 month old rats who are looking for a home together.
They are looking for a nice peaceful home and someone who will enjoy spending time with them such as hand feeding, giving them plenty of free space to roam around and reading them a book. As they are still getting used to been handled, older children or an adult home would be best suited for them.
If you would like more information about the adoption process of this pair please ring us on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk

Meet our lovely Chica, the most senior dog we have currently looking for a new home!
Even though Chica is 14 years old you really wouldn’t think it if you met her. She absolutely loves people and is friendly with all dogs she meets. Chica walks nice on the lead and she still has a fair bit of energy for her age so if you are fairly active she will be able to keep up with you. She is doing well with her training and enjoys been made a fuss of. Anyone who meets Chica has nothi...ng but good words about her. Chica is currently in a foster home and we have found out she’s housetrained, settles in the home quickly, fantastic with children as young as 2 and is good overnight and sleeps downstairs. Chica would be best going to a home where she isn`t left for too long at a time as she loves human company but having another dog around may help her if left alone. As Chica is over 10 years old she qualifies for the Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme (EARS) if you live in the Halifax, Huddersfield or Bradford area.

Meet Shadow, a lovely 3 year old male looking for a new home!
Shadow is a very happy & relaxed character. He loves to be stroked and we are sure when you take him home he will become part of the family straight away. He has previously lived with another cat so if you do have a cat he may be able to live with another cat if you take our advice. We are unsure what he is like with dogs so we would say no to living with one. Older children may be suitable as long as all is fine when you view him. Shadow is quite an independent boy he enjoys his food, likes to nap and watch people passing his pen.
If you could offer Shadow a new home please contact us on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk 🐾

Meet Puss, a gentle 10 year old lady looking for a new home.
Puss has overcome a few scrapes and as you can see she has had one of her eyes removed but she is still very content and gets around perfectly fine, this only makes her more special. Puss is a laidback girl who likes the simple things in life. She is very happy whenever she is with people. She enjoys a long afternoon siesta and loves her food. We are unsure if Puss has lived with any other animals before so we feel ...she would be most content in a home with no other animals. Puss is looking for an adult home where she can start a fresh life and be truly spoilt. Puss is eligible to be rehomed on the Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme (EARS) which is specifically for those living in the Halifax, Huddersfield or Bradford area at just £5 a month.
If you would like to meet Puss please contact us on 01422 365628 or enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk

Say hello to Domi and Tia who are currently looking for a new home together!
They are a lovely duo who are both full of character. This pair are great with people and have previously lived with children so we feel they may be okay to live with a family again. They are great with other dogs too so if you already have a dog we can arrange a dog mix. They both enjoy their walks and are engaging with staff when they are doing their training. They haven’t lived with a cat before s...o we are looking for a cat free home. You will need a secure garden for this pair to play in. Tia is 8 and Domi is 11 years old. As Domi is over 10 years old she qualifies for the Elderly Animal Rehoming Scheme (EARS) for those living in the Halifax, Huddersfield or Bradford area.
Please contact the centre on 01422 365628 or email enquiries@rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbr adford.org.uk for more details about this loveable pair or the EARS scheme. 🐾

Without the amazing staff here we wouldn't have our beautiful dog Carley who we travelled all the way from Stoke on Trent to see! She has filled out home with happiness and laughter, she's so outgoing and happy! We've had so many fantastic complements about her fantastic temperament and how clever she is! I would like to thankyou all so so much, and thankyou especially to Natalie I know how much Carley will miss you!

User

We would like to say a big thank you to the fantastic and helpful staff and we would highly recommend anyone looking to adopt a cat or dog please pay them a visit !! Thank you for our new family member, Bruce - AKA The Boss - (Breezer) the cat

User

We picked up Kaira our 2 year old cat a few weeks ago. She's settling in well and is a joy to have. Thank you :)

User

We picked Rocco, our Staffordshire Bull Terrier up this morning and are so lucky to have him. All staff at the Halifax branch have been absolutely fantastic, and made it clear that they are there to help should we need them in the future as well. I found everyone to be very friendly and helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

The adoption process was extremely quick which made sure he was home with me and my family as quickly as possible!

Thank you all very much!

User

We had the most amazing support from the whole team, when we adopted a beautiful EARS dog called Peggy. Couldn't of managed without the RSPCA. I can't recommend them enough a big thanks for all the hard work they do every single day

User

Thank you so much for Bobby. We can't imagine life without him. You do an amazing job. The staff there are fabulous. Keep up the good work.x

User

One of the best (if not the best) animal re homing centers i have ever experienced! Extremely friendly staff, the animals are all very well looked after and they are great at what they do!

Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to adopt :)

User

My husband completed the paperwork with ease.. very nice ladies made the visiting experience for our young daughter enjoyable. She's counting the days down until they come and join our family . 😊 We Didn't want to leave them behind. Can't wait for two little brothers to play in our back fields with the rest of the streets cats 🐱

User

I have posted on the main page as I wanted to share some pictures of Pickle who we adopted on 25th March 2017. The staff made the whole process so easy and offered lots of support and information. We have recommended to friends and family looking for a pet to make the RSPCA their first call. Keep up the good work

User

I have gone to the RSPCA Halifax for all my animals for quite a number of years now and I would recommend them every time. All the animals are very well looked after whilst in their care. I would always give rescue animals a chance for a new start in a loving home as these are the animals who are more in need. A fantastic job is done by all the staff there.

User

Had a great experience meeting with the staff and behaviourist at Halifax RSPCA.

Brought Sully home nearly a week ago, and he is a very happy boy. Lots of walks in the park, and he's so well behaved that he's even running around off the lead and coming back to us as his name recall is so good.

This branch have really nurtured Sully into a lovely little dog, who we absolutely adore - thank you!

User

Couldn't recommend these guys enough! After making the decision to adopt a dog instead of buying one, and being messed around by dogs trust the guys here were brilliant. They were very honest about our chosen pups behavioural problems around other dogs and made the adoption process easy and stress free and are still working closely with us to further his training and give advice. Couldn't be happier with our big bouncy boy, he's coming on so well in his forever home and I can't thank rspca enough for giving us our beautiful rescue boy and for all of the wonderful care and advise they give us. Thank you so much!

User

Can't fault the guys at halifax Rspca. Very knowledgeable and so loving towards the animals in their care. The newest member of our family comes in the shape of Georgie. A 3 year old very timid cat who is responding very well to the attention and love we are all giving and will continue to give her. Thank you guys xx

User

got our dog and cat from here, had our dog max for 5 years now, i would recommend this place!

User

Thank You for the helpful and informative process you displayed when we adopted Nutmeg. After travelling so far it was good to see friendly, informed staff and one beautiful, healthy puppy

User

You are a disgrace, my cats stuck in a tree for over 12 hours and can’t get down, now being attacked by crows (ACTIVE CRUELTY) and you won’t send out an Officer to rescue him until it’s injured or nearly dead! Your call centre staff are rude and put the phone down on me!!!! Shameful.......

User

We contacted this branch to register concern about cruelty to a dog and heard nothing back, so don't know the outcome. The dog is still being cruelly treated in our view, chained up in hot weather, no water as far as I can see and looking very sorry for itself. Why is nothing being done?

User

Rang nearly 3 months ago continuously about a stray small cat that was hanging around our garden it was very thin and needed help we tried to catch her ourselves but she was very wary. I rang and rang asking for help even offered to pay for the vet treatment and home her but we just needed help catching her.....nothing every time I rang I got told an officer would ring me bring a cat trap and help....nothing again i rang and rang got told the same story every time not once have they bothered. Absolutely disgusted I was even crying one day speaking to them as she looked in such a bad condition. Eventually with the help of neighbours she has been to a vet and we have rehomed her ourselves as this was what we wanted all along we just needed a bit of help thankfully she is ok and is getting better by the day but at no thanks what so ever from our local RSPCA. I've always been an advocate of them whenever anyone has said bad about them but I will not from now one they were more than happy for this stray to be left in the cold. DISGUSTING

User

I cannot deny the good work you do with regards to animal welfare. However recently my partner and I enquired about adopting a companion for our existing kitten only to be declined and somewhat judged because we wanted an indoor cat/kitten. Even though we own our property have good jobs with flexible hours. I know that a cats natural environment is outdoors but my current cat and previous indoor cats were very happy, loved and enjoyed life!

Thought it was a very opinionated service and a kitten has been denied a loving home! We will not be returning!

Please amend your application form to not include a tick box to request an indoor cat as it is somewhat misleading as 'its against policy to re-home as indoor cats only'.
