Celebrate Afternoon Tea Week with us!
The annual National Afternoon Tea Week is being held between the 13th to 19th of August.
We serve our homemade afternoon tea 7 days a week, Monday to Saturday 2pm to 4pm and on Sundays 2pm to 3.30pm.
... We do a regular afternoon tea which is £10.95 per person, this includes: 3 open sandwiches, homemade scone with jam and clotted cream, homemade cakes and pastries and a pot of tea or regular Americano coffee from the hot drinks menu.
We also do a Prosecco afternoon tea which is £15.90 per person and includes all of the above and a 200ml bottle of Italia Prosecco.
Below is a small selection of the homemade desserts, cakes, pastries and scones that our chefs make on a daily basis!

Was there with two of my sisters. Had to wait for a table but didn't mind.. the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help us. We all had the open steak sandwich with onions and mushrooms and horseradish sauce with twice cooked chips. Absolutely delicicious ...

Visited for the first time with friends for afternoon tea. I can highly recommend, absolutely delicious and very good value for money. They were happy to change the sandwich filling if not to your liking and gave us a box to take away the bits we couldn't eat, there is plenty. The normal menu looked good to and I will definitely be going back to try more.

Very nice afternoon tea served by a very lovely waitress called Louise

Took mum and dad for mums 78th birthday. Mum and dad had the afternoon tea which was lush and I had chicken Caesar salad which was lovely too. Lovely place, fantastic food,friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

The first thing thst is noticeable is how clean the place is. The food is excellent. My only disappointment is that due to illness I cannot eat things that stick in my throats as it won't go down. Most places I go to they make me poached eggs on a piece of toast. But unfortunately not at the seed room. So it would be nice if you could. Although I ordered a meal I only ate a little bit of which virtually the whole meal was thrown away. A waste of food and a waste of money to me. Even fried eggs would have been nice with some beans. But as I'm told it's paddled breakfast time.

Really lovely food. Had the beef and rocket sandwich and some chips. Lemon drizzle cake to follow and all gorgeous. Highly recommend and will go again.

Just been with my mum & had a lovely time! I am 36 weeks pregnant & the staff couldn't have been more accommodating with my food. They even gave me a cushion for extra comfort. Will definitely be returning soon.

I’ve carried thousands of these lovely afternoon teas to customers but until today I’ve never had one. Fabulous!! Great food and service with a smile!! Treat for Mum and Auntie Ol for Mothers Day and also remembering Uncle Tim whose Birthday it would have been today. Lovely afternoon xxxxx Thanks Seed Room!

Great place. Staff really friendly. Light airy. Clean. Very varied menu. Not same old same old. Specials are often a must. Great for breakfast. Lunch and they do afternoon tea. A hidden gem. Probably not for long if they keep this up!

All choice ingredients, especially the beautifully fresh eggs. Coffee was good too.

Best afternoon tea by far. Well presented and delicious food. All staff are friendly and helpful. The pirce is really reasonable too.

As a regular visitor I really like the food, friendliness and cleanliness of The Seed room, but this week a friend took me for afternoon tea and we loved it!! I am a faddy eater and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Definitely recommended!

Always call in the seed room when I'm over seeing my mum, I live in york + I would recommend anyone to go there, sandwiches are great, my mum has also been with a friend for afternoon tea, she said it was wonderful keep up the good work 😁

Afternoon Tea was superb! Staff extremely friendly and cafe was clean and well maintained.

Would have been five stars but the “chips” were actually fries so bit disappointed with those! Let’s have proper thick brown chips! Everything else was spot on

went to for the first time last sunday, both myself and hubby had the open steak sandwich which was served with mushrooms, red onion and a creamy mustard dressing, it was lovely and the coffee was very good too. i have only given a 3 star rating because although it was nice it was very expensive for what it was.

Sadly people visiting the cafe now stay for far longer than is polite, this means no parking available. So annoying when you have travelled and want to buy gardening supplies...never mind Wyevale to the rescue. I will never drive here again.

My first visit yesterday. Had an open steak sandwich. Thin pieces of steak, with overcooked chopped mushrooms and onion. Drizzled with mayonnaise. It was a dry and tasteless dish. I had vanilla v ictoria sponge afterwards. A small slice, that was dry. I mentioned this to the waitress, who apologised and gave me a refund.

We went with friends, who recommended this cafe. Unfortunately the food was overpriced and not very well presented.

My wife had a tuna melt, that was just ok. Expensive place to eat, with average food.

We won't be revisiting.

I had afternoon tea there yesterday and it was delicious, served by a lovely, friendly and helpful waitress. I would have given five stars but was disappointed that they couldn’t offer me an alternative to tea and coffee! It is the only one ever not to do so. Usually I am offered a soft drink or hot chocolate but not here I had to make do with tap water!
