With the first ever World Food Safety Day set to take place on Friday, 7 June, we're highlighting the work of our food safety team in helping to remove food that has been recalled.
Food recalls are rare but can occur if the allergen information on a label is inaccurate, or if there are concerns regarding food poisoning bacteria such as salmonella.
If there is a recall the Cherwell food safety team work with the food businesses and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to make sure ...the product is removed from the shelves.

Towcester Food Festival – South Northamptonshire’s biggest food and drink extravaganza – takes place this weekend.
Thousands are expected to flock to Towcester Racecourse for the annual event, which opens at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday.
New for 2019 are cheese pairing masterclasses with food writer Shane Holland and Bar Encore in Towcester will host the cocktail masterclasses.
... The festival’s patron, Masterchef judge and food critic William Sitwell, will tour the 100 artisan food and drink stalls on Saturday morning.

A public hearing on a major policy document that will affect all planning decisions in South Northamptonshire, is set to start next week.
The hearing is the penultimate stage in the development of the South Northants Local Plan Part 2, which allocates land for development, areas to be protected from development and the policies used to determine planning applications in those areas.
