Labels must be in compliance by 31st December 2016 Changes made to labels in the revised edition of UN Model Regulations Packaged dangerous goods are transported across borders all over the world: hazardous chemicals shipped by sea in China may be re-loaded onto trains in Germany and transferred to trucks in France which are destined for the UK. For this reason, it was internationally agreed that safety standards must apply globally, and in order to uniform standards, reduce formalities, and facilitate transition from one mode of transport to another, a committee of experts was set up at the United Nations. If hazardous substances or mixtures are supplied to the general public, then child-resistant fastenings and/or tactile warnings labels must be attached to their packaging if they display certain hazards, or if the packaging contains Methanol or Dichloromethane.
An overview of the different hazards that trigger this obligation is provided by the ECHA. http://goo.gl/r4vwPC To buy Tactile Warning labels visit www.stock-xpress.com

What are Class 8, Corrosive substances? The EU has passed numerous directives and regulations to help keep people safe when using and transporting potentially hazardous corrosive substances and there are long-standing treaties such as ADR and RID that regulate the transportation of corrosive materials by road and rail that follow the guide of the UN Model Regulation. European law distinguishes clearly between the law of dangerous goods and the law of hazardous materials. [ 860 more words. ]
