Went to armytage arms as a last minute thing and was pleasantly surprised and glad to have dined there. The food was lovely and was served within 10 mins of ordering and was delicious cos in the past we have waited around 45mins. No faults with the staffs customer service and would definitely continue to dine here. Also liking the new place after refurbishment with more comfort with seating.

Went for lunch as a party of 10 whilst visiting family. Quite a long wait for starters but it was bank holiday Monday so quite busy. Can’t grumble about the food. Everything we ordered came out together, the food was hot and my steak was cooked to perfection. Kids enjoyed their Sundaes and they were humongous! Thank you � x

Top class place. Meal wasn’t too god, but Xavia made us feel really welcome, and insisted we pay for the meal in kind, she took us to the men’s toilets and let us all have some fun with her.

First time been hear and it was great the food was excellent great service really enjoyed it definitely will be going again and will definitely would recommend and thanks to the manager Matt and bar staff Donna really nice people and freindly

Had dinner there last night. When I commented to the young barman that I preferred the pre refurbishment decor he told that probably had something to do with the year of my birth and was somewhat out dated! Nothing like offending a middle aged customer! An hour wait for food. Several tables who arrived much later than us had there meals before us. The kitchen ran out of mushrooms and tomatoes so just left them off my meal with no explanation. The food itself was tasty but we won't be returning. It used to be a great place to eat but not anymore.

Came yesterday for a family get together wish we hadnt bothered the gammon was dry all meals & plates were cold & the food looked like it had been thrown on the plates! Definitely not a place to return too!!!!!

Burnt food and watered down drinks the ultimate combination of what you want when you’re paying for a meal! Never usually complain about food but the burger I got (which was supposedly the fancy one at nearly £10) tasted absolutely awful. Service was okay but place it self was grubby needed a good clean. Won’t be returning, let down.

8 of us went for a meal. No rice, no curry and no role cheesecake - which we weren't told about until all other desserts had been served. Although 1 dessert was completely forgotten about. Chicken which should have been served with mayonnaise - had none - when we asked for some it was brought to us when we had finished the meal. I know someone who has gone tonight and they had no potatoes. Rice and potatoes are not extraordinary items but staples on a menu

Worst service, food god awful when it finally turned up, will never go back and definitely DO NOT recommended. I'm amazed its still in business!

Totally do not recommend this eatery!



Was in there 3 1/2 hours for only mains and puddings.... 50 minute wait for puddings.. Waffles and Ice Cream...



Mains were luke warm.. meant to be a sizzler but now way - too cold.



I have been a customer for 30 years but after tonight I will NOT be returning...

Sorry to leave a review like this but others need to be aware.

Terrible service, would have given zero stars if that was an option. Waited ages in the queue to then be served by an obnoxious women who actually shook her head at me for rightfully going next. Then to be told this was the 'drinks only' queue and I would have to go to the other queue and wait again to order food! No surprise that I didn't go queue again and went elsewhere where they hopefully treat customers better.

So thought we would visit on 11/04/18 and what a sham. Might have had a refurb but the food is still awful. So much so i have been ill due to it. We sat at our table and decided what we was going to have to be told when we got to the bar they didn’t have some of the starters that we wanted so had change our minds. Food came out reasonably fast even though there were very little dinners in. My sons meal was alright so he said. Mine was ok but if you are going to batter halloumi at least do it right and make sure the halloumi is cover. My wife had the skyscraper burger, well not sure where to start with this one. The meal was brought out and then the waiter had to come back with the onion rings as they were missing off of the meal. The bacon on the burger was both well done and practically raw. The sauce was suppose to be montery jack and was more like the nacho cheese sauce. The burgers themselves were like old boots seemed like they had been cooked and left for ages. The burgers were that bad my wife left over half. We didn’t want to complain at the time as we feel like every time we go we always end up complaining. Very disappointing thought you might of had a refresh on the kitchen as well as front of house. I will not be returning for another visit ever again, even under new management. The restaurant has a bad reputation for me now

So much for been a sizzling pub!!! Waited 45 mins for food that didn't come out anywhere near sizzling. Kids wanted pudding, went to order 2 pieces of rolo cheesecake to be told there was a 1 hour wait....... Really?? 1 hour wait for cheesecake, told person serving not to bother. Wont be recommending to anybody and defo don't be going back!!

So bad chicken tasteless rump steak 🥩 tough as old boots chips bloody awful onion rings omg just horrendous. Nice lady who has been there years very polite offered us a pudding. No 🙏 thank you. She did say if we come in again make ourselves known and we can have free pudding puff

Piff paff puff don’t feckin think so will not be going again refurbished you need to get your food sorted sorry atrocious!!!!!

Not a very good experience, this pub has been refurbished and think there’s a lot of new staff. Had to wait 45 mins for food and then when it arrived the chicken fajitas were not great. 4 slices of chicken and just a hot plate( which wasn’t sizzling) full of raw onlions and green pepper. Very dissapointing. Staff also weren’t trained properly which was causing problems at the bar.

No burger buns so the burger was served in a burnt toasted teacake, chips were freezing, no one came to collect my plate so I had to take it to the bar where the manager started prodding the food on the plate, never received an apology, I was never offered a replacement just a refund that was given back in cash even though I paid on card. The manager is the most rude, unapproachable man I have ever met, I have no idea why he works in customer service because he has no customer service skills whatsoever and clearly hates his job.

Food was horrible ordered all day breakfast sausages were charcoaled on one side left majority of it, my boyfriend ordered the skyscraper burger at nearly ten pounds chips weren’t cooked properly left onion rings off and had to ask for them to be told there had ran out, burger was low quality like something you’d get frozen from Tesco 4 for 2 pound quality. Bacon came extra well done some parts pure black, staff at the bar tried to push deserts into the person before me claiming it would make her meal cheaper then admitted it added money on then rushed me through my order very snappily. Most off the skyscraper don’t get eaten either. All this and it was hardly busy 5 cars in the car park tops. Should of just gone mcdonalds better quality and service

Came for a family meal the other day. For a start I feel the menu choice is poor, if you don’t like stake/ grilled meat or burgers this isn’t the place for you.

Secondly one of our party asked for fish & chips without peas due to an allergy. I mentioned this when ordering. To our surprise the meal came with peas. Obviously we had to send it back. The meal arrived again once the rest of the party had finished eating, by this point they no longer wanted the meal as they would be eating alone. Complained to the head waitress (I think), who was embarrassed but just blamed another member of staff. Then after about 20 mins a manager came out, who again blamed another member of staff, said “well peas isn’t in our 14 allergy list, and we train our staff every 3 months”

There was no ownership of the problem, no offer to rectify the situation, we had to ask for the refund of the meal.

Another member of our party almost broke a tooth on the very hard pastry from their pie. It is safe to say we will not return unless under new management.

Booked a table for 7 which wasn't ready and once it was it wasn't big enough. Had to go ask for cutlery. No staff came to ask if the food was ok which was probably a good thing as it was not. Had to leave before my daughter's dessert came as she was tired. Dire.
