The Causeway Foot Inn & Kirby'S Bistro Description
The Causeway Foot Inn & Kirby's Bistro is a friendly, traditional country inn and restaurant located to the north of Halifax, complete with leather armchairs and blazing log fires. We have completely refurbished the whole pub, with the main bar now decorated with traditional game’s keepers style décor. The separate ‘Rambler’s Rest’ is exclusively for families, and is dog friendly - the perfect place to relax after a long walk! Our restaurant area has now been redecorated into a vintage tea room!
Our location makes us popular with walkers & mountain bikers visiting Ogden Water and the surrounding countryside. Our dog-friendly enthusiasm means both you and your pets can enjoy a relaxing drink and meal together in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We are able to cater for small functions, such as parties, and the large field at the back of the pub is frequently used for charity events - such as charity events for the Dog Trust.
We offer the best in hand-pulled traditional beers and ales, including regularly changing guest ales.
Our restaurant prides itself in offering the highest quality meals using fresh, local produce, prepared to the highest standards. As you all know the Causeway Foot is your favourite ‘dog friendly’ neighbourhood pub we’ve decided to give your best friend a treat which they will love especially after you’ve walked around Ogden with them.
We’ve ordered some Frozzys lickable (straight from the tub) frozen yoghurt for dogs that are also lactose free. We should have them in stock by this weekend so be sure to give them a try especially with this HOT weather we’ve been having:-)

Great night at ‘The Foot’ for our Northern Soul night:-) We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did:-) Our next live entertainment is The Surge band on the Fri 6th April at 7:30pm. They are a lively band covering Soul, Motown, Disco and Grooves for your dancing pleasure!!
We went today and the food was amazing.... could have stayed all day soo cozy and staff so friendly great service.... we defo will be back for more food it was delish.... xx
We visted today for the first time. The staff and chef made us feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. There is a great choice on the menu, the food was fantastic and to a high standard and very reasonably priced. We will be definately be returning. A big thank you to all the staff.
We have been here a few times before and always enjoyed it after a walk with the dogs around Ogden water. Very friendly staff that delivered good service. I had a beautiful gammon dinner flowed by rhubarb and apple crumble. The other half ate a veggie nut loaf followed by what can only be described as an entire chocolate shelf in a sundae. The dogs also had some kibble and a bit of their dads meat!
Would highly recommend this place for the lovely dog walk, the great food, good beer and super service.
We called in for tea on Wednesday evening, the food was amazing - I had the fish pie which was absolutely delicious. We had a great night - it was quiz night which was great fun! Highly recommend and will definitely go back.
The food was excellent and service was quick. We ordered the breaded camembert with plum jam and creamy mushroom and bacon starters. Both were excellent for mains we had the roast pork loin and the spicy beef tortillas which both came with side dishes. Overall service was fantastic staff were really friendly good choice of ales and drinks and everything was reasonably priced.
The Sunday lunch was fantastic and the best beef I have ever tasted , I’ll be back very soon
Really great food - we had chicken tikka pizza, burgers (with pulled pork), falafel burger and roast chicken dinner. All really nice and huge portions. Staff as always friendly & provided good service. The prosseco went down well too.
Popped in today for food and drinks with family food was 10/10 amazing staff was very friendly will defiantly be returning and recommending to others well done guys

Love this resturant/pub. The atmosphere, food and beer all excellent. I don't call in as much as I would like to but always get a warm welcome. Hubby and I love this pub! It's just a 20 min walk from home and we often call in for an evening meal or Sunday lunch. Chris and Terry are excellent hosts and the staff are always courteous and polite. Chris's food is to die for, I'm slowly working through the menu and have enjoyed it all, especially seabass and fish pie! Keep up the good work guys and we look forward to more cosy nights in front of the roaring fire!!
A group of us called for food after visiting Another World Adventure Centre up the road. The food was absolutely amazing. Served piping hot and beautiful presented. The portions are huge and tasted delicious, not to mention great value. Thank you we will be returning �
A gem of a pub/restaurant between Bradford and Halifax. Beer always on form, staff friendly and accommodating and the food is out of this world. Terry and Christine are the ideal hosts.
Must visit to sample the atmosphere and the food/drinks.
