Happy Easter! We are open as usual on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Monday we are closed, reopening the Tuesday as normal. Thanks.

This is our new oven we have been having installed today, Sadly as a result of it blowing our 3 phase electrical supply we will not be baking bread tomorrow (tues the 27th) but the Cafe will still be open!! We will bake bread as normal all being well from Wednesday morning. Ta.

We are open for bread at the moment! However, due to the weather the cafe is closed as our staff can't get here. Keep warm.

Join us this Saturday 2nd of December, for the first of two events this weekend, where we will be joining McNair and many others for a great day with other great makers. We will have artisan bread, sweet treats and savoury danish. We hope to see you all.

Wonderful place. Staff where super with my full of cold, stroppy toddler. The chilli bowl was delicious and a huge portion. Bread was perfect. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

We went for the artisan patisserie course and had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and made the task very straight forward and enjoyable. We came away with so many pastries that we had to give them away to family and friends. Everyone said how great they tasted. Highly recommended for the course or just to call in for a coffee and pastry!

Use to live in slawit and loved coming here for your bread and even though we live in oldham now we came back when we can and buy from here. I even had to pop in today when we had a flying visit.

The atmosphere in this lively establishment is second to none. And the coffee and the service are fabulous, too. I often call in for a take out on my daily canal walk ��

Superb food every time , gorgeous breads ( but be quick ) & lovely friendly staff & yummiest cakes !!! This is a gem of a place I love ❤️ it .

On a rainy Sunday afternoon walk, it was lovely to stop for a hot drink and cake. The Polish baked cheesecake was delicious, and the coffee was great too. Lovely little place right by the canal in the heart of Slaithwaite.

My daughter and I visited today for the first time. The half hour drive to get there was more than worth it �

Fabulous food and we both loved the style and feel of the cafe. We will be back. Amazing place highly recommend a visit ���

I've been wanting to visit The Handmade Bakery since a friend told me about it a few weeks back, and I wasn't disappointed :-) Had a coffee with a piece of their pistachio and orange cake (lovely), and brought a "sleepless white" sourdough loaf home - just enjoying a couple of slices of it toasted.



Very friendly atmosphere, lovely staff - nice to sit outside by the canal and watch the world go by :-)

I went on my own with my baby during the week and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The coffee EXCELLENT. I had an almond croissant - the best I have tasted. Today I went with family for lunch, and we were all so impressed. Amazing value for money and lovely fresh produce. Again, excellent coffee. So happy to have found the place. Thank you.

I have known about this place for ages and never been!! More fool me !! It is a fabulous place,the food is great and reasonably priced. I had the best beans on toast ever,my daughter had a savoury pastry with salad,delicious. I will definitely be going back.

I have been twice now and both times the food was delicious ,especially the grilled cheese sandwich and also the array of cakes are really good

Had a fantastic day making bread 🥖 it was great fun with very nice people. Would highly recommend it. Although arm and ribs ache from all the needing 😫💪💪

Beautiful hand baked savoury Danish pastries. Fresh bread straight from the oven what more could you ask for? Lovely coffee and fresh proper tea, reasonable priced, and you can get baking lessons too!! Wonderful discovery.

An astounding little gem tucked away at the side of the canal in Slaithwaite.

Wonderful home made cakes, artisan bread, wonderful strong coffee and sumptuous teas such as rooibos, which is delightful.

A really great day lots of information on how to do the basics well so you can have the confidence to go and try it for yourself and expect the same results. Matt and Steve are really knowledgable and had all the time to answer questions and give ideas would really recommend that any one who has any interest in making bread for whatever reason go along< and you get really great food as well as a load of bread to take home

Absolutely gorgeous bread products, lovely ethos of how the place is run, the staff obviously work.hard and do the best flat white coffee in the world BUT I do find the whole ordering procedure and knowing what is available a bit daunting and somewhat unclear when I go in (or maybe this is just me!). My children and I sat at a table full of pots for a good 10 minutes and waited about that time for our drinks (I had a coffee and the kids had apple juice, which they loved) when it wasn't really that busy. I understand that these things take time and have to be done in time order but a litte communication wouldnt have gone amiss at this time. Xxx
