Following a multi-million pound transformation project, Britain's last surviving cloth hall, featuring independent shops, restaurants, cafés and bars, heritage visitor centre, art gallery and a spectacular events programme is now open seven days a week.

🎄 We know it's only September but we're so excited to reveal our plans for Christmas! 🎄
From 16 November, the courtyard will be home to our impressive Christmas tree and welcoming Nordic Tipi's, where you can meet with friends and family to enjoy warming drinks and alpine food in cosy surroundings, next to a roaring fire
A Christmas Fair showcasing some of the region’s favourite independent craft stalls, artisan makers and pop-up food and drink traders will feature for a fest...ive shopping weekend 30 November - 2 December, while our resident shops, cafes, bars and restaurants will be open throughout the season providing an ideal place to pick up Christmas gifts and stop off for a bite to eat along the way.
Then, on 6 December our magnificent circus-style Spiegeltent returns for a fantastic 24-day programme of family shows, live music, stand-up comedy and late-night cabaret. There's lots of creative Christmas workshops too, so you can get crafty and learn a new skill.
Spiegeltent highlights include: 🔹A new dazzling cabaret show from Tempest Rose and House of Burlesque Ltd 🔹Award-winning singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy 🔹Comedians George Egg and Gary Delaney 🔹Drag pop princesses Denim 🔹Skills of the big-top at The Circus School 🔹Storytelling with Father Christmas
Family activities include Lantern Making and festive crafts in the Elves Workshop.
Adult workshops include Rum & Chocolate pairing, Christmas Printing, Textile Wreaths, Glass Decorations and Needle Felted Baubles.
We'll finish the season of festivities with a New Year's Eve celebration taking over the courtyard for a superb finale that includes a daytime Mini Rave with BoomChikkaBoom and a special NYE Late Night Comedy Club in the Spiegeltent, pop-up food and drink vendors, live music, DJs and entertainment!

Just 5 days to go! Join us this Saturday 15 September for one of our most spectacular events yet!
The Blondin Gala will be a night to remember as Chris Bullzini recreates Charles Blondin's daring tightrope walk that he performed high above thousands of bystanders at The Piece Hall in 1861.
The Gala will feature an array of performers and artists to explore including side show curiosities, vaudeville style street theatre, circus acts and magic.
... Why not test your own skills in the Making Magic workshop ahead of the event? Learn a selection of tricks and circus skills in our afternoon family workshops then showcase them in The Piece Hall Magic Show. £6 per child.

Halifax Heritage Festival kicks off this weekend with lots of opportunities to learn more about The Piece Hall and Halifax's amazing history.
8 & 9 Sep: Stories from the Wholesale Market - Exhibition Launch Did one of your ancestors work at The Piece Hall? The Calderdale Family History Society will be here during the launch weekend from 11am – 3pm. Prepare for Winter by weaving your own bespoke scarf. As Autumn fades now is the perfect time to design and weave your own chunky woven scarf using a peg loom to wear this season with pride. Led by textile artist Agnis Smallwood, this workshop will take you through the techniques of how to weave using a peg loom, as well as how to combine different colours and textures. This would also make a perfect gift for Christmas.
All levels welcome. All materials provided. Booking is essential.

Bank Holiday Monday we have a fun-filled day for the whole family with guitarist Al Bampton busking, badge/keyring making and face painting at the activity cart, alongside outdoor games and the great team from Totally Awesome on hand to show you the ropes.
