Visited the new food court today with it being saturday it was very busy at lunchtime i tried out the chinese food which was cold and disgusting i couldnt get a hot drink in here which was dissapointing the 2 cleaning ladies that were on duty were very helpful and even carried a highchair to my table i will rate it a 5 stars for the fact the 2 lovely cleaning ladies were very polite and helpful and did a very good job in keeping it clean
I'm absolutely in love on your feeding area What an amazing place! I can feed my baby on calm, clean place where is nice smell. And my oldest can play with rabbit
Well done!!
I will always love this centre Shame everything has moved to Trinity walk, it still has a lovely welcome feeling.
In general The Ridings is great, however:
This only relates to Boss Hoggs burgers, the centre on a whole is fine.
For £7.50 I received the smallest Coke I've known been served, fries that were soggy and a small and distinctly average burger.
I'd have complained then apart from I was already late now as is took over 10 minutes for food to arrive, and they weren't even busy!
To top it off the delightful til operative was so into her well drilled script that she spoke over the top of me to continue it, ignoring the question I was trying to ask when they paused.
McDonald's isnt far away, you get better food there, more of it and less chance of someone being rude to you.
I love the ridings - love the unique shops downstairs and love love the rock shop which we always visit - only downfall is lift to car.park on bottom.floor that has been broken for yonks -
The family parking bays in the ridings car park are very few, and it becomes exceedingly frustrating that we drive the 3 floors up to find spaces taken by people who don't have kids with them. As much as the large banner informs people they are family bays it doesn't stop people from parking there. There either needs to be MORE family parking spaces or actually deter people from parking in them. Like while an employee (much like the one today) who watched a lady, who was by herself, park in the family bay to actually tell the lady she shouldn't park in the family space.
So again, more spaces or actually deter people from parking there.
Since the opening of Trinity Walk. The Ridings Shopping Centre has gone a bit into decline. While waiting for me to come out of a shop, my husband said that the rain was coming in through the roof. It seem that it has now turned into the poor relative. The shops have picked up from a year ago so hopefully this is a onward and upward trend. The cafe's could do with extending their ranges as not one had a Gluten Free option. I went to Marks ans Spencers and ate there instead.
Love the Ridings, really do! But why oh why is so much closed on Sunday! Remember A. it is half the weekend and B. not everyone has Saturday off work! We were so disappointed that we couldn't visit the Made in Yorkshire shop this weekend. It's not like we can go elsewhere for that as it isn't a chain and we had a wasted journey. What's the point of the 50p parking incentive for Sunday? Is it just to make you feel better? !Sorry but just really disappointed.
Visited The Garden food court today. Very disappointed with the choice of food available. None of the venders sell children’s meals! When we asked the pie one if they could do a bit of mash and beans. The answer that you have to buy a full adult meal was the answer. Also none of them sell hot drinks. When a lot of shoppers are parents or grandparents with children. Surely not selling either of these items is a huge mistake. We will not be eating there again.
This review is regarding the new food court, to say I was disappointed would be a gross understatement. Over priced garbage is the best way to describe it, the only reason I've not given it a 1 star is due to the staff who were in the most part very attentive and helpful. My family had something from all 4 of the eateries there, I'll start with the burger place. The burger was freshly made and was very nice looking and my daughter enjoyed it, however, the chips were very cold! Nearly £7 paid for just a decent ish burger! Next up the Chinese, that was the only food place where I had no grumble about the food itself, it was very nice but VERY expensive, nearly £8 for a 'small portion'!! Next up the Yorkshire pudding place, very underwhelmed by the size of the puddings. Should have been bigger for the price, they tasted like they'd been left out for some time and just had no taste whatsoever. The chicken stew was plain and tasteless. The mash was nice but the gravy was lumpy and tasteless, I would go as far to say that it had been reheated in my opinion! And last but by no means least the Mexican. I was very much looking forward to trying this as I am a huge fan of Mexican food, how disappointed I was. The rice had gone hard in places like it had been left under the heat for far too long, the steak, which I payed extra for, was dry and bland also. The best bit about it was the salad that went into it! And again at nearly £8 I was expecting a whole lot more! I would also suggest that you implement bigger drinks sizes, £1.50 for a few mouthfuls is ludicrous!! Sadly I shall not be returning at all and I would urge people to not be suckered into this place as you will be seriously out of pocket, underwhelmed and thirsty! Sort it out ridings, it's a disgrace!
So I was in your store today
Having a coffee
And visiting a few shops
And was really annoyed by that 6ft2
Security guard you have in there
Ok I understand that it's private property and you apparently don't like bikes in there
No signs up
Just the way he spoke to me and saying like take your fuckin bike out side now
Put your shit on out there
Move it go on
Obviously I told him ok mate I'm going
But by the way fuck off to your attitude
I found him to be over the top
I will not return to this shopping centre now
but the way in witch I was evicted due to having my bike with me was appalling
If your going don't take a bike oh n
Please laugh at lurch
He's obviously in need of a drug test
As I think he's on sum thing
Thanks guys
Parked in the ridings today to find that you had removed card payment facilities from all of the car park machines on 3 different floors. We then had to park in the emergency parking area so my husband could run down the stairs and use the ones near the lifts, to find they wouldn't take cards either so he had to run to a cash machine. Never had this problem before.
What an absolute dump, The shops , the people. The smell. Everything.
This place needs closing down along with the rest of this once great town . Wakefield has become a massive dump and the sooner I can leave this sewer of a city the better
If Wakefield council concentrated on making better what they already have rather than trying to expand the whole area into a massive cluster f**k , then we might be praising the ridings shopping centre for being a state of the art shopping centre but as it is , it's like a day out in Beirut. Avoid the shopping centre and avoid Wakefield
Wakefield Antiques Center is shutting down so the shopping Centre can re furnish the shops. An utter disgrace The antiques center us an unique and intrest
sting shop in Wakefield a City Centre encorageing people to visit the Ridings, Just the type of shop you should be encoraging
There was only 1 lift working & having a baby in a stroller was made 2 wait a considerable long time as even though the escalator was working fat smelly people were taking a lot of room in the lifts plus the baby changing area was situated at the top of ridings so getting access was near impossible...it will be with great regret that I will not be coming here again!!!
The car Park is awful! Came here with my baby in the pushchair and when returning to my floor found out that the pay machine doesn’t take card payments, having to tackle the doors (which aren’t pushchair friendly) to reach a completely different floor which is poorly signed. Needless to say won’t be using the car park again!
Shopping centre good
Burgers place in food hall disgusting. Staff don't take correct orders. £7.50 for food . Complained about incorrect order & got offered a free drink. Seriously a £1+ drink for a £7.50 meal deal. Definitely won't be trying others
It’s run down and like a ghost town. I wouldn’t even visit the centre if it didn’t have boots, m&s and primark! The new food court is disappointing also. The Ridings used to be packed and now it’s quiet and depressing! The centre has so much potential but instead it’s being left there to die out
