a great stadium, well worth a visit only problem was no programme sellers outside the ground so you had to find one inside, and that wasnt easy.

User

The Shay is a great little stadium with good facilities for adults, children and families. I can highly recommend a visit to watch football and rugby league.

User

Love the Shay it's better than a lot of grounds in the championship however the Stewards need to be watching for the smokers in the south stand . People were smoking right in front of the stewards and they said nothing

User

Good to watch my team at an old school football league ground. Went to the league game on a January evening, yesterday it looked so much better in daylight.

The toilets are probably the worst I've seen, so bad they are a must see!!

User

As non-league stadia go, this one's one of the best, being as it's an 'ex league' club, it has good facilities in the 'new' East stand, the old, Skicoat road stand & toilets particularly, leave a lot to be desired but since it very rarely gets filled to capacity this is not on the priorities.

User

Visited yesterday for Fax v Oldham RLFC rugby game, good facilities and easy to access from the M62.

One minor point though we are Oldham RLFC not Oldham Roughyeds that's just our nickname

The new stand is lovely.. went to semi final game against salford city and was impressed with the development of the stadium from years ago.." was supprised to see people drinking thou arround me with glass pints then putting them down by their feet which is dangerous with being a big crowd in the skircoat end.." someone could stand on them and get cut.." when most of the fans invaded the pitch a looked down to were the glasses were and they were all broken all over the terrace.."

Attended for a football match.

Good view from stand, friendly stewards, toilets good and the ground is just a 10 minute walk from the train station.

I didn't buy any food or drink there as I go to watch a game and not dine out.

User

Attended a wedding reception a couple of days ago. T h e food was really nice, and hot too, which is always a bonus. The venue was clean, tidy and perfectly presentable. The staff were excellent, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble

User

Proper football ground, wouldn't be out of place at a much higher level.

A couple of criticisms:

The toilets behind the Skircoat Stand are a bit shonky.

Loads of stewards in attendance, but did nothing but stare into space all afternoon. Loads of people decided to stand in the stairways rather than use the seats provided, but the stewards just looked on. I've no objection to people standing, but surely doing so on the stairs is a safety issue?

User

£18.00 entry.. What a rip off. Grubby looking place that's not been swept all year. As for the landscaping around the ground, it takes your breath away. Perhaps some light pruning of the 40ft weeds could take it to the next level..

User

Prices charged for admission seems high for the level of football. The away stand in need of attention. The toilets are a disgrace. All food sold out by half time with long queues still left. Don't know how they will do in the Conference.

User

NO BEER!!! Went to Bradford game on Sunday red hot day and no beer at the bar. Then when they finally got beer the 2nd pint the gas had gone so was flat. Stand was good but did a piss poor job of looking after the away supporters. It's the first time I have been to the ground as I'm a rhinos supporter but won't be going back if that's how they treat the fans

User

Big Bulls fans turn up to be told no beer😔 Then when they do get some beer almost through first half they decide to charge the Bulls fans £4.80 a pint what a big rip off

User

£16 for away fans and the place is crumbling down. £7 down moor lane and the toilets in the prefab are 10 times better. Sold out of programmes 30 minutes before kick off. Obviously were not expecting so many away fans.

User

Shit! Where was the beer? Was there for the Bulls game and it was hot and people fancied a drink in the sun then the gas went! Nothing much to cater for us. To say security has been stepped up at most stadiums, bags searched etc it wasn't there at all!

User

It's a rip off charged £2.50 for a bottle of non alcoholic beer two weeks ago it was £2 yesterday same thing can be bought in supermarkets for £7.50 for 15 bottles work it out yourself. Also no paper drying towels in the toilets for the last two visits !!
