two very good meals at the shoulder.a very good staff .my wife and I being of the old brigade do not like aldante [ under cooked veg] we mention this to the staff and next time we went I was approached by a member of staff [ a middle aged gentleman with a southern accent and the first thing he said was ,,,hello veg well done I presume ....good on u mate

What a fabulous country pub!

The food I'd spot on, the atmosphere is welcoming and warm. The staff & service brilliant. I would highly recommend a visit!

We have been on a number of occasions and they haven't let us down once!!!

Went to the shoulder of mutton at Briestfield for an anniversary meal, there was 5 adults 2 kids, food was amazing, they were very busy but were accommodating & the staff interacted with the kids, went above & beyond and the portions were huge... plus there was cauliflower cheese & extra veg. Met the chef who was very apologetic that we had to wait for food (although it didn't feel like a long wait).... & even gave me a bit of chocolate tart in tinfoil to take home - very lovely, family run pub & will defo be back

Went for the second time yesterday to celebrate our sons A level results ( first time was for a lovely Sunday lunch ) . Staff could not have done more , showing a real interest in why we were there which was nice . Food lovely ,home cooked , piping hot when it arrived and very tasty . We went for the first time on Mothers Day and it was fantastic. We got a lovely welcome with a complementary wine for us Mums. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly. It was a set menu but there was so much to choose from I struggled to decide. My daughter was also very pleased with the children's menu. Would definitely recommend it and we will be visiting again very soon.

Visited last night for dinner with thanks to Lisa, gorgeous cosy pub with a personal friendly touch, food was delicious I went for the chicken salad & my partner had steak, proper home cooked chips, lovely peppercorn sauce, brilliant service from start to finish, thanks again Lisa and we will be back :)

Lisa is an absolute darling and I couldn't have asked for a better evening/experience.



I had the butternut squash and goats cheese risotto (something I've never tried before) and I was in love! Packed with so many lovely flavours that I would definitely want to eat again. Now here is where it gets good.... Dessert. My friend and I both went for the dark chocolate and orange torte and I think I may have gone to heaven. ’┐Į Both courses were washed down with my favourite glass of white zinfandel rose - honestly delightful.



The atmosphere was also so lovely - fairy lights dotted about everywhere and calming music made me feel all warm and fuzzy! I didn't want to leave haha!



Overall such a lovely evening with the best host (Lisa, you're a gem ’┐Į). 5****

Impromptu visit with my mum and 2 smalls for tea. The waitress was very warm and welcoming, couldnŌĆÖt do enough for us. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. Added perk of the outside area for the smalls to play while we waited for food, sat in the sun ’┐Į first visit, will definitely be returning. Thank you

Had the Sunday roast, me the missus and our little one were all impressed.

Staff were really friendly too, will definitely return very soon to try some more of the menu.
