RETIREMENT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED. All my regulars know that I have been trying to retire now for some time. Well that time has finally come. On 1st September the council will be taking over the tearoom. My final day of opening will be Thursday 30th August. Don't be alarmed but the tearoom will shut for a few weeks for the council to refurbish but it will reopen. David and Grace have been kept on and until it reopens will be employed in the Café at Pugneys. Thank you all for your support and friendship over the past 15 years, I am sure I will see you all at some time from the other side of the counter. Terry

Ferry Top Lane will be Closed this weekend due to re surfacing of the road. This is the entrance from Cold Heindly or Ryhill (off station road) The road through Wintersett is open and the lane down to the Park is open.

Morning... back open today, I’ll let you know what the lane is like when I arrive. Grace 😌

User

Morning everyone. It’s Grace, I’m not able to get into work today. The roads where I live are terrible and struggling to even move the cars on our street. I’m so sorry for this. Unfortunately we are going to be closed today. Be careful if you are driving down the lanes I’m unsure what they are like.

User

Well I got here and I am open. The sun is making an effort to get out and I have seen a few cyclists.

User

Sorry everyone won't be open today either. Have not been able to get van out of my drive. The centre is open and for anyone mad enough to venture out the lane is passable but take care. Update in the morning. Terry

User

Sorry folks have to close today. Would have trouble even getting to main road so staying at home today. Would suggest you don't chance the lane to the tearoom. Will keep you posted. Maybe see you soon! Terry ☹☹

No-nonsense, honest cafe food and great service.

User

Lovely friendly cafe with a regular customer base. Very popular because of its staff and service. Unfortunately some people don't appreciate it .

User

Lovely cafe, lovely staff, lovely surroundings. Always feel welcome, never feel the need to take your boots off, or to leave the kids & the buggy outside. Always a bowl of water outside, for thirsty dogs too. We fought long & hard to keep this cafe open. Please support them & put them on the 'to do' list. School holidays are coming up, there's lots going on at the Country Park.

User

Great tearoom always happy to accommodate a bunch of cyclists whatever the weather

User

User

Great little tea room. The staff are always welcoming and it's open no matter what the weather. Nice to go for a drink and a bite to eat after a walk or a jog around the country park. You should call in if you're in the area.

User

Great little cafe just what you need after a long day in the saddle

User

Fantastic tea rooms. Walk to Anglers or walk around the lake and stop for a coffee/hot chocolate. Great to know this place will be open. Food good too. Thank you for being there.

User

A lovely homely cafe , I always feel welcome wether I'm out on my bike or just out for a walk with my family the staff always go out of their way to make us welcome !!

User

A friendly haven for old and young alike. Frequented by walkers, dog owners (dogs outside, please), cyclists, children, elderly, disabled. Snacks, meals, hot and cold drinks. Ice creams and more. I enjoy their small breakfast (with mushrooms as an extra). Great value!

User

Think this is a great place to go and lovely walks.

User

Good value food and drink.Friendly staff.

Did I miss something? Other reviews are glowing, our experience was just sad.

When we called in today the staff seemed disinterested, the service was basic and the cafe was grubby - tables were sticky and the freezers randomly placed around the room were dusty and dirty. The cafe itself seems to lack direction and style, and had the warmth and charm of a doctor's waiting room. I helped myself to coffee/hot chocolate in paper cups from basically a vending machine as directed by the staff, even adding my own squirty cream (the can was provided before the assistant walked off) and was given a paper plate for a biscuit.

Anglers Park is brilliant, it was full of families getting fresh air, this tea room needs to 'up its game' to capitalise on the spending power that the visitors have. It's tired and tatty, covered in hand written signs about picnickers, rubbish and pets and just wasn't welcoming at all.
