Bring the little ones along to join in creative and messy play. Tiny Tetley workshops take place on the fourth Wednesday of each month and are led by artists with great skills for children aged zero to five. Inspired by The Tetley's exhibition programme and all things creative, activities include things such as sensory activities, playing with different types of bright colourful materials, to drawing on a big scale. The workshops are especially good for ages 1-4 but we supply... soft mats for our youngest audience.
Prices are £3 per child*
To book please ring 0113 320 2323 or email info@thetetley.org for more information.
As a registered charity, The Tetley is committed to creating the best possible experience for all our audience members. Tiny Tetley is an extremely popular part of our programme, these sessions get quickly booked and we often have to turn people away. Unfortunately however we have found that not everyone who has booked turns up to the sessions, meaning that we're often not at capacity on the day.
To encourage those who book to take up the offer we have decided to bring in a nominal fee of £3 per child. Importantly, this fee will go towards covering the cost of materials and workshop support.
We know you value the work we do with young children and would like to thank you in advance for supporting the programme.
*Please note that booking is non – refundable, but if you are unable to make it on the day, we will happily transfer your booking on to another session.

We have visited and worked with the Tetley a few times over the past few months and only have good things to say! It is such a welcoming space and so visually stimulating, the art installations are beautiful and the relaxed atmosphere allows you to take in your surroundings! We love that they showcase art and promote local creatives so working with them in the space has been an amazing experience. They have been so helpful in assisting us while creating content for the Leeds Rag Fashion Show, a colleague there, Millie being especially friendly and supportive of our ideas! We look forward to working with them more in the future!

User

Visited when the Leeds Lights night was on, very impressed, lots to do and friendly staff. Would have liked more time to look round and will visit again

User

Visited The Tetley yesterday evening for the exhibitions launch night. Such a great venue and use of space. The artwork was brilliant and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. I will certainly be returning for future exhibitions and showcases of art! You definitely can’t complain about the free entry into the gallery either!

User

Recently visited The Tetley for an exhibition launch night featuring 3 works. Staff were very informative and helpful throughout the evening with a very buzzing and creative atmosphere presenting some inspiring pieces. It was my first time here and I was highly impressed so will be returning. Only downside was the fact I'd come in the car and there was free wine available. Will remember for next time. Buzz

Must say a massive thank you to Charlotte for the excellent work at my daughter & son-in-laws wedding. Charlotte was so efficient & never intrusive and always there to help in every way possible

Had Sunday Lunch here yesterday with friends and have to say it was one of the best Sunday lunches ive had for ages! Great service too...the Roast beef was to die for...lovely and pink and the veg cooked just right. Will definitely be back..Well done!

User

Attended the ‘Your consequences have actions’ exhibition launch and loved it! Beautiful venue and staff were really helpful and knowledgable about the exhibit and artists involved

User

Visited today and the Sunday Roast was excellent, very good beef and service was excellent. A couple of mistakes made with one meal, the portion of fries was tiny. However, it was quickly rectified. The wait time was a little long but we expected this having not booked and being a busy Sunday, happy to wait for fresh food.

User

The staff are friendly and the cafe is very a very pleasant environment to sit and relax. They provide a selection of hot drinks and decent quality food

The building itself is worth the visit and don't forget to visit the old Boardroom on the second floor

The exhibition space consists of a selection of old offices previously used my administration staff and the subject of the exhibitions changes on a regular basis in fact it's due to change this week

We both enjoyed the time we spent there

User

Nice venue. Plenty of seating space in and outside. Service was good and server was nice and friendly and helpful. Food was very good. The bread and flavoured butters starter selection was lovely. I had the Tetley beer battered fish and chips and the only complaint I had was it was too big. Delicious perfectly cooked flaky fish and very nice big chips. My friend had a vegetarian squash risotto dish and declared it delicious. Neither of us had room for dessert. Good selection of reasonably priced wines. An enjoyable visit I will repeat soon.

User

Love visiting the Tetley. Always some interesting exhibit on which throws a spotlight on a surprising niche. Pleasant staff, nice atmosphere downstairs. Just keep doing what you do!

User

Great place little disappointment that the museum was closed but means we will have to make the journey again freandly staff

User

For anyone with an interest in modern art, the Tetley is definitely worth a visit. Simply the fact of re-using the old Tetley building for such a different purpose makes it interesting.

We were lucky enough to be on an organised trip which included a short conducted tour - and that undoubtedly enhanced our experience.

I would like to have seen the big book opened but our visit didn't coincide with the times.

Good bar and cafe area! We can't control the weather but pouring rain didn't help to create a good impression.

User

Visited for the first time today and was really disappointed. Such an amazing building, walked in and was impressed with the bar area, the decor etc. But we visited for the gallery and to see an exhibition, so used the lift to the gallery area on the first floor and was disappointed in the resource area, and the gallery rooms. The work on display at the current exhibition did not inspire us or engage us, we were hoping for something a little more visually stimulating and better use of the space. We were really looking forward to visiting but it was a real let down, the staff also seemed uninterested.

User

Food was nice, service terrible - we had to clear and clean our own table before waiting over an hour for two salads and two kids fish butties!

Art was limited, just not enough to see 15 minutes and you're done.

Shame as it could be brilliant, as I said the food was nice and it's a good space - not quite got it right yet.

User

Ate here today and it took over 1.5hrs to get served!! The reason was only one fryer? I have eaten here many many times and had no problems! If today was my only visit it would have been only one star!! Highly disappointed the food once it did arrive wasn't top notch but felt I couldn't complain again!!! May take awhile before I re-visit!!!

User

A beautiful venue but let down by the service and the presentation of drinks - the worst g&t served for a long time - a few tweaks on glassware, staff training and quality of brands used and the Tetley could be one of the best in Leeds

User

Hard to tell it's even an art gallery.

The reception desk was empty, the signage was awful, the exhibitions were awkwardly stuffed into the ancient offices, and the staff were predominantly teenagers with ipads.

When I found one of these androgynous clones hiding in an upstairs "gallery" he consulted his ipad to try and find the management for me, and finally said that no one was available. Nobody?!

I went in search of the management upstairs, knocking on an office door, only to be rudely dismissed by a very young woman manager who told me I should contact them online.

Cold, arrogant, distant and poorly defined. Badly advertised and signposted for visitors, and not much to see even when you get inside. They should dispose of the Tetley memorabilia too - being constantly reminded of the places association with beer taints what should be a fresh experience - such as with the Baltic or the Tate.

In short - not worth the hassle.

Bad exhibitions, confused layout, disinterested staff, even worse management. A gallery in name only the Tetley is really just a cafe with a few pictures. Sadly it is a perfect representation of art in the north if england, timid, ignored, and substituted with cafe culture.

User

Bought tickets only because Scotty T was playing the prince to find out Scotty had dropped out due to not getting any wages. We decided we would still go so ,drove almost 2 hours from Washington last night only to get to the door to be told the event had been cancelled!? No explanation, nothing. So what a waste of diesel, waste of parking fee and waste of my time! Wasnt aware it was to be held in a big freezing marquee either. We did wonder what the big white 'tent' was for. Got lost as we were looking for a big building called The White Rose Theatre but it was in fact a tent on The Tetley grounds :/. Not impressed and will NEVER book here again. Hoping i dont have to wait long for my refund which wont include the deisel i wasted and the parking i paid! Total farce.
