We called in for lunch as I have the card 2 dine for £13.99. Sat out side in the sun drinking a large gin and tonic as Tuesdays is 20% off gin. We ordered the home-made fish finger sandwich and the philly steak cheese sandwich, both so delicious with home -made chunky chips, slaw and rocket. Will definitely be going again and I would highly recommend.

Me and my husband called in for lunch. The food was delicious & very reasonably priced. The service was excellent we were served our drinks then shown to a table by a lovely member of staff who was very polite & attentive to our requirements.We will definitely visit again.

If you have nt visited this place recently it is now under new managment with an amazing new chef. Been before and although ok was nt over impressed. BUT got taken out for my birthday yesterday and all I can say is WOW.

The food, service and atomosphere in here is excellent.

Well worth a visit from anybody fancying a romantic night out.

Went for Mother's day yesterday, service was good and are food came out hot. Although some of the things described on the menu were not on the plate, we put this down to it being a very busy day. The raspberry and chocolate cheesecake was delicious but my little boy and two other people had the 'sticky toffee pudding' and this was dry and definitely not what I know as sticky toffee pudding. I would like to visit again, maybe when it is not such a busy day.

Used this place on numerous occasions over the past several years always had a pleasant experience great food excellent and attentive staff....how times have changed Sat waiting for almost an hour for the main course had to remind staff that we had ordered drinks,I wouldn't consider this a problem if the place was full however it isn't.

Not tasted the food yet and to be honest I've past caring on wether or not its worth the wait.

The food here is lovely. I have been on three occasions recently and had different meals with each one being well prepared, a good size and very tasty. There is a good menu choice and it is competitively priced. The pub has a good environment with a decent selection of drinks. There is only one thing that lets it down and the only thing stopping me from giving it five stars is that the service is awfully slow. I hoped the first time it was a one off but then on my second visit and then my third it was the same. We waited over half an hour for starters then had a really long gap with it being well over an hour for main courses after that. Other diners on all occasions were making similar comments. The waiting staff are incredibly polite and apologetic and perhaps the kitchen isn't big enough to deal with the demand (although it wasn't overly busy on any occasion). If they could improve this then it really would be top notch!

Very disappointed with this eatery !! On arrival, after having the table booked for several weeks we arrived to find the menu had changed significantly from what was advertised online, missing out several items !! We were a table of 6 and ordered various items, including a rare steak which arrived medium and a chicken pie that was no better than one you might buy from a supermarket for £1 !! In addition the side of ‘winter vegetables’ looked like it had been microwaved to within an inch of its life. When the £187 bill arrived there was multiple errors, including items priced differently to what was on the menu and not being discounted correctly for the ‘4 for £15’ nibbles offer. Very very disappointed!!!

I feel I have to give some negative feedback. I don’t like doing this but the lack of response from management has left me with no choice. Our family party of 7 celebrated the Diamond Anniversary of my parents (in their 80s) in February. We arrived to a freezing cold restaurant. We pointed this out immediately. The issue was resolved after about one and a half hours. But it did actually spoil the first half of the meal. Sitting in coats is not very comfortable after all.

I emailed the manager who offered us a £20 gift voucher as a gesture. This was 10% of the bill. I responded to this with another email explaining I thought that wasn’t satisfactory.

I didn’t receive a reply to this email. Very disappointed and we won’t be back.

Well was Sooo looking forward to family tea out and a yummy sunday dinner! Came today and there are just no words! At half 4 I wouldn't say is late for a sunday dinner we sat down ordered drinks ( my husband wanted a lager and the waiter had to leave the table as he didn't even know what beers you have!! Bad!) Then ordered food and it wasn't till then that we were told there is only one meat left to choose from! (And there were only about 6 things on the menu to choose from) Which at the start if they had said we could have gone somewhere else. No children's menu just half portions of adults which is ok as my daughter was going to have turkey dinner which we were told wasn't any left. Anyway that was resolved with a chicken breast which she wouldn't have known the difference anyway. A waiter came to our table and said "2 turkey dinners" which wasn't our order as we were told there wasn't any turkey left - bad! When we got our food I had 2 big pieces of pork but then the bottom bit was all fatty! -bad again! Roast potatoes represented charcoal how anybody can put that on a plate is beyond me. The vegetable selection that came with the food was good but the carrots and parsnips were completely raw! Couldn't even cut through them! Bad again! :-( Yorkshire pudding was big but was dry as anything like it had been in a oven all day bad again! So a completely inedible meal! :-( As we were sat there every table around us were complaining about vegetables and potatoes and all we could here is "new chef" manager said "we have never heard comments like this before!" (Even though everybody in the room was saying it) "big turn out today" wasn't even half full the place so god knows what it would be like if busy! How can you have something so burnt and then something else so raw on the same plate!?!? My husband never ever complains about anything and he sent his back and they said he can have mash potato instead he waited over 10minutes to get his meal back! Completely not acceptable! What was supposed to be a nice family meal after a busy day working was a disaster. We don't live far so potentially could have been a regular but won't be coming again. What a shame gorgeous pub lovely setting and interior but if the chef can't even cook carrots there's no hope! Will not be coming back and will not be recommending!
