Went for breakfast with friends and can't fault this restaurant. Everything was beautifully presented and hot .. Staff friendly and hard working. Will definitely go again.

We pop in here during the week and also some Sundays. We never have room for pudding afterwards though. Love the Yorkshire's, Love the Gammon and glaze on top and the gravy is tasty and sticks to your food nicely. I just enjoy Toby Carvery wherever I happen to be in the country but the Wakefield Toby is fairly local and the staff are wonderful. Cheers T C.

The service was excellent and the staff are very helpful and polite towards their customers.i go there every time we have a birthday or anniversary to celebrate we wouldn't go anywhere else and the food is amazing I would recommend it to anyone to try it for themselves

The food was lovely and hot, good service. Didn't feel we got a fair proportion of meats. Very busy but got seated quickly. Staff very busy and did rush us a bit when ordering drinks and explaining the procedure of how to order.

I've been to quite a few toby carvery's all over the UK, this one has stood out to me, was met with a good welcome, the food and service were spot on, and departed with a hand shake from (I can only assume) was the manager. When I'm in Wakefield again, I will be visiting here for a bite to eat. Highly recommended ����

The food was lovely. The only thing I could really pick in was the heat in the restraunt was stifling which made it difficult to enjoy the food. Had to eat and leave.

Only criticism is the salad was more expensive than the carvery and small portion of meat

Had breakfast here recently and what value for money you receive and served all the way up to 11am. I’ve never experienced a breakfast Yorkshire Pudding until we ate here. Will definitely return

First visit for breakfast and the food was very good and plenty of it when going up to the self service counter. Usually these sort of places never have enough found out as the greedy gang usually take it all before your turn, but the had plenty cooked and ready. Staff on site were ok and very busy as it was mother’s day, they could of done with some more staff to help, but all in all was ok nothing to complain about.

No complaints about the food except the tiny portion of meat carved onto the plate for the price but the toilets absolutely stink ...Surely you can do something about that?�

It was ok had better had worse not much meat on plate and veg a bit dry but ok ..

Both my husband and I had the Breakfast Buffet and everything was cooked nice except the Mushrooms, some were barely cooked and the others still had compost on them, now I'm saying wash the Mushrooms as you shouldn't do that but at least wipe them before cooking or not cooking them in this instance.

The coffee was nice and all in all for the price it wasn't bad, had better but certainly had worse too.

Staff all helpful and polite.

The waitress dealing with us when we arrived must have gone off shift as we got another waitress delivering our desserts! Had to ask THREE times for someone so we could pay and once they came I asked them to scan the app code ao it goes towards the rewards! They took payment, then tried to scan the code and once failed explained that she should have done it before she took payment as she can't scan it now!! Her response 'it's my fault, nothing I can do now though!' Oh, cheers!!! I didn't get her name because after waiting half an hour to get to that point we just wanted to leave!

Just been in for a meal and didnt enjoy the experience at all. I think the most enjoyable part of our meal was when we were taken to our seat.



We sat down and ordered drinks it took 10 minutes for them to arrive. People that arrive after us got their deinks before us. I had to move from my table to find someone and ask for our drinks.

When the drinks arrived we had asked for no ice and one of them had ice so they had to change it.



We went to get our carvery. The chef who waa cutting the meat was not very welcoming. Couldnt even crack a smile. Served my husband first and then went back onto the kitchen for a few minutes before coming back out with a plate to serve me. I asked if there were ang sausages as we both ordered a kingsize and my husband didnt get any. Another chef said they were going to be 20 minutes so give me extra meat. I dont thibk i got extra meat, there was very minimal there, and when she said to give extra meat he looked at my husband (as he didnt get sausages) and then just left him, didn't offer him any extra.



The pot of gravy that i got mine from was also cold and cooled down my food.

When we ripped the Yorkshire puddings apart to eat them, the bottoms of them got our hands covered in grease.



While sat at our table all we could hear was kitchen staff screaming and shouting at each other. None of the waiters were very welcoming either. They all looked miserable amd like they didnt want to be there.



After our carvery we orderes our desert (fudge cake with ice cream which is what we always get but havent been to Toby carvery for a while)

The cake tasted rather cheap and they hadnt warmed the cake to melt the chocolate. Very dissapointing. The ice cream was in a small tub also and when we lifted it off our cakes, the cake was all stuck to the bottom of it.



Yes it filled our bellies, but it wasnt a very nice experience for either of us and we are both veey disppointed �

Very disappointing visit this evening with my family to celebrate my birthday when we was turned away due to the fact that you had run out of meat. I struggle to understand how a carvery pub can run out of meat at 6.30pm seeing as though it is a very important part of the carvery meal. My family visit often for breakfasts and carveries, will definitely be thinking twice in future.

Just been in for a meal and was very disappointed with the service,king size had no sausages and 2 selects of meat All the veg was dry no customer service i.e shown to a table, but at least we didn’t have the bill given to us as we finished our dinner like last time we was in as we paid befor we ate, wasn’t offered any discount for the meal as not much selection very poor and very disappointed �

I went to Toby carvery for a Mother’s Day meal today, I started eating my carvery and found a large bit of plastic in my cabbage! This put me off the rest of my meal.

I visited the Wakefield Toby Calvert today for tea i sat down and waited for ages to be ignored by your staff.i then went to the bar to ask for Cutlery and a drink.The waitress (small glasses hair in a bun) snapped at me telling me to wait ..i wouldn't mind you had four other staff stood behind the bar playing with their mobile phones ! Also the meat tasted like rubber.i won't be visiting your restaurant again.
