K9 Kid Club regular class available to book now. Starts Wednesday 5th September. Its £48 for 6 weeks. Classes on at 5pm and 6pm. Available to all kids 7 years and over (providing they can walk their dog on a lead on their own)

Well we have had an absolutely fantastic week this week with out K9 Kids Club. We’ve done obedience, tricks, agility, anatomy, grooming and first aid. I was so impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment made by these 5 amazing kids with their dogs. And they enjoyed it as much as I did that they want to come back for a regular weekly class. Roll on September and Wednesday night classes with the Kids Club. Davina

Our next set of Gundog Sessions at our Haxey location are now available to book. Sunday 2nd September, Sunday 14th October, Sunday 4th November. All start at 9:30am for 3 hours. Cost is £25. Bookings taken our website.

Dog are totally selfish they do what works. They do things that gets them a reward or has pleasurable out come for them. They are not out to take over the world. Behaviour whether good or bad grow when they are rewarded. Not just by food but by affection, play , freedom or many other outside forces that are harder to control. But one thing is for certain if you don’t become proactive to stop a behaviour that you don’t like. That behaviour will grow and grow until it becomes ...dangerous or impossible to fix and your dogs life becomes about management. So if you see a problem in your 6 month old pup please don’t wait until is 5 years old to do something about it. Because the more time your dog practicing the incorrect behaviour the more that behaviour grows. Think of behaviour as a seed it is easier to remove a small sprout or a sapling.But once that behaviour become established like a young tree it becomes harder to remove and if that behaviour still goes unchecked then the mighty oak is very hard to remove. So please don’t let unwanted behaviour grow into problems. Grow the things you like and weed out the bad behaviours the grow a fantastic little dog one you can be proud of. Train to win.

Woof woof. I think it’s time we tested the knowledge of everything dog. We are looking to put on a canine quiz night at the centre. There will be snacks and soft drinks provided (you can bring your own booze if you want) There will be questions and games to test your knowledge and love of all things dogs. This is open to everyone pet professionals and Dog mad normal people it will be on a Friday night about 7pm. You can make a team or come on your own. If this sounds like something you would like to come to please comment below.

Great gundog session today at IDBTC. We had great dog great handlers. So new to gundog and so that already do scurries. I had a fantastic helper which allowed me to help to new handlers and dogs. Hope you all enjoyed I know I did see you all next time. Thank you James

Went down to meet James and the team. Spent an hour or so watching James train. What a breath of fresh air to watch. His interaction with the dog owners is fantastic, he's enthusiastic and entertaining which is great for the dogs and owners. Keeping the full attention of the dogs and there owners engaged for the full length of the lesson. Brilliant work you have a great set up and team keep up the good work.

We've been using walkabout hounds for the last 6 months and it's the best decision we ever made for our chocolate lab Darcy.

From the initial one to one with James teaching our children how to discipline her, to the fun she has on her group walks to the thorough dog training they offer, Davina and James I thank you so much!

We have just completed beginner 1 with our dog. We couldn’t be prouder with the progress he has made over the past 6 weeks. We have seen a huge difference in him and he has really enjoyed it! The trainers and staff are faultless! They know exactly what they are talking about. They have even helped us even to find a dog walker who is brilliant as previously we had issues!

Walkabout Hounds have been amazing with Ruby my Princess Labrador. She absolutely adores James, Davina and Emily and they love her too. This is hugely important to me. She goes on weekly walks and has attended training classes and had one to one training with them since a young age. Very helpful, friendly and affordable!!!! I could not recommend them enough!

Walkabout Hounds are an excellent company, who go above and beyond in customer service. I have used their dog walking service for around 4 years and they have always been reliable and best of all my dog loves to go out with them. James and Davina, the owners, know a great deal about dogs and doggy behaviour and helped to educate me in ensuring I have a very happy doggy. I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a professional, knowledgable and friendly dog company.

Seriously I would not be able to go to work if I did not have the help and support of these guys!! Yes.. They are not always on time for the booking.. Eg If you book a 12 walk slot it could be 11 or even 13:30 when they get to your pooch, however, I understand and totally accept this, as working with dogs, is like working with children.. something unexpected is always bound to happen!! BUT the main thing is they always always have the dogs best interest at heart and do their upmost to provide an excellent service. We have also been to their training sessions, which are outstanding. I cannot recommend this company enough. Thank you walkabout.. Me and the pooches think you guys are Awesome!!!!!! xxx

Just finished the puppy classes with my 5 month old Lab x staff called Roo. Me, my partner and Roo have really enjoyed it and she has come on Loads! She has also calmed down at home and walks nicely on her lead now � I'm sure we'll be back again!

Just Booked my lovely german shepherd pup Kaiser in for his next session beginner 1. the puppy class was great fun and taught me so much. he's now a boisterous 1 year old but still remembers everything he was taught by "auntie Amy" and he still loves her so sorry Amy you got us back again, looking forward to seeing you all again very soon and thankyou for all the BARF feeding advice you lot are amazing and so supportive with his diet. Love Nicky and sloppy kisses from kaiser he recons you are all " woofly " x

I thoroughly enjoyed the beginners class , Martha and myself learnt so much with James. My only regret is I didn’t take her when she was a puppy. Practicing every day so we’re ready for beginners plus in September.

I have been friends with Walkabout Hounds from the United States. I read everything that is posted and look at all of the pictures. There is NEVER a cross word printed - the people in the photos are happy, the dogs are all healthy looking and happy. I have contacted the owner multiple times to make a comment or ask a question and get immediate response. From what I can see by observation, this is a great dog training company.

I couldn't recommend this team enough. We have gone through the beginner 1 class with our dog and the difference in the 6 weeks we have attended is amazing. The trainers are very friendly and are very experienced and will help you even though you don't realise you're struggling!!! I still have a long way to go with my very hyper and ignorant pooch but honestly the difference in him is amazing. Have really enjoyed it and had a laugh along the way (usually at my expense) Thanks James for all your advice and support!

Had our first novice agility class yesterday. It was great fun for both me and my dog. We were the only ones totally new to it as the other five dogs in the class were on their second round of classes, but it was good to see how it should be done before tackling it ourselves. By the end of the hours session we were able to go over three fences and through a tunnel all without a lead! Really looking forward to next week's session.

Brilliant training classes, real dog lovers, caring about your hounds. One to one sessions revealed so much about the behaviour of 1 of ours and what we needed as corrective action. Extremely knowledgeable , full of tips and alternatives. James , Davina and team are superb, can't rate them highly enough - we've had 9 hounds over the years from greyhound crosses to gsd to labs - these guys know their stuff and most importantly make training and walking a joy.

Been getting my 2 pugs raw food from here from last 10 months was very confusing at first but the lady who works in shop is very helpful would 100% recommend this place for everything to do with your dogs � thanks again for your help �

Amazing friendly team and a massive thankyou to all. When I got my beautiful Holly from Rotherham Dog Rescue, although they do a brilliant job there, she needed training and stimulation. You guys were my first port of call. Not only did you help both Holly and myself to become a great team but also gave me advice and supply of a healthy and nutritious diet for Holly.
